  • Used to love this game - seeing your guys armour power up was great!

  • this was better than final fight to me...

  • Sometimes I regret paying $80 for a year's worth of Microsoft Xbox Live. I could be playing and trying out all those little SNES gems instead of wasting my time on worthless gameplay like.. GTAIV and FIFA10 multiplayer. Lots of dickheads there. They ruin the gameplay. Also, SNES games fucking own newer generation consoles. You know why? Because they don't make in depth games anymore. Or maybe they do, but then some other element is crap. In good SNES games, everything has been worked on!

  • Just like Zero Punctuation says about games: no stealthing, no crappy guy shouting commands in your ear microphone, no guided skillsets, no strategies. Just you and a bunch of bad guys between you and your goal! =)

  • A much improved version of Golden Axe.

  • nice game =D

  • So many memories with this game on the snes with friends and brother and dying sounds were hilarious... "Yeahh....". So soldier what do you think of dying? "Yeah....." LMAO.

  • i used to play this game when i was hella young first game ever loved i miss it so much i wish there was another one on x box

  • does divide a treasure chest gives you more exp ?? :O

  • Fantastic music on stage 2! Arthur's sprite is indeed the spitting image of Nigel Terry. His is the definitive portrayal of King Arthur in my opinion; none of that Clive Owen cobblers!

  • i have this game for my snes! awesome conversion from the coin op

  • Does anyone know if the game intentionally designed Arthur to look like Nigel Terry, the actor who played the king in the epic 1981 movie "Excalibur"? I think the resemblance is pretty damn uncanny!

  • Got this game as part of Capcom Classics Collection 2 on the PS2!! It's awesome!!!

  • one of the best arcade games ever made imo, needs to come on Xbox live & PSN.

  • WE FUCKEN NEED THIS GAME ON XBLA AND PSN. 3 PLAYER CO OP FTW :) sorry for yelling :p

  • I could finish this game on the hardest difficulty setting without dying using Lancelot or Percival. I think Percival was the best character to use. They say he has low speed, but his foot speed is faster than both that of Lance and Aurthur. The speed at which he swung his axe was negligible because as long as you were smart about you had nothing to worry about. I've never been able to get over level 14 though.

  • This game is a really really great beat em up. of all beat em ups i was having a blast playing this game along with Streets of Rage 2. Capcom should get their lazy asses up and bring this game back with a sequel.

  • I like The King of Dragons more, seriosuly ayone reading htis needs to check it out

  • This was a fun game I've played it on both SNES and PSP.

  • xbox live arcade please

  • This game had better music than the arcade version.

  • The music isn't that good and its so loud it drowns out the rest of the game in this vid... I can barely hear the rest of the sound, but I can tell you it's inferior to the arcade's! The SNES may be in stereo, but that doesn't mean it should be that loud.

  • I don't know maybe some people just like the Arcade music better. I just personally thought I liked the music in this version better. But his is just loud you could control the games sound however they don't speak.

  • Yeah the music in the SNES version is better.. but the sound effects and voices suffer compared to the arcade.

  • remember very limited hardware at the time that's why.

  • don't forget to hit the treasures to make them worth more!

  • @woodwart I thought you gotten more points if you did not hit them!

  • even better before. Please look at Dungeons and dragons tower of doom

  • This game is the greatest hack and slash of all time. It shits all over Sega's Golden Axe in fun and replayability. Please Nintendo and Capcom for the love of god get your shit together and bring this fucking masterpiece out to the Wii Virtual Console. PLEASE!!!!!

  • Agreed! Capcom made the best beat'em up games!

  • Not always. I think that Streets of Rage (especially 2) is better than Final Fight.

Still, Knights of the Round is one of my favorite SNES games and is indeed superior to the admittedly good Golden Axe.

  • True. I like the first and second Streets of Rage. The third one was kinda lame. Golden Axe was good for it's time. Too bad you really don't see many of these anymore.

  • Agree with you that Streets of Rage is leagues ahead of Final Fight - but KOTR isnt a patch on the legend of Golden Axe.

  • Agreed. KOTR is good but straightforward hack & slash. Golden axe has platforming and stratergy elements.

Golden Axe 3 on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis also had multiple paths.

  • Ever play Final Fight 3?

  • Yes, and even with the gorgeous graphics it still comes nowhere near SOR2 for sheer face busting brilliance.

  • Alright.

I guess I shall always be a Capcom zealot.

I perfer Bare Knuckle III though.

  • Dont get me wrong I do like FF3, my problem with it is that its far too easy even on the hardest setting, and the enemies and bosses are lifeless and dull.

Haggar is a great character, but his spinning piledriver just cant compare with the brutal simplicity of Maxs Atomic Drop :-D

  • Yes, true Final Fight 3 was way easy.

    Jaja!

    I like your dedication sir!

Final Fight was my first beat'em up and arcade game so it has a lot of sentimental value to me.

  • that game was so cool, especially with the upgrade system. I wouldn't mind if this came out on Wii VC or XBLA

  • Knights of the Round Was my first video game..arcade..when I was..7 seven..but in my house..I play..wolfestein.. pc... Beautyfull.

  • best snes game

  • what about king of dragons hah

  • That is definately worth 5 stars!

  • omg dude! This game was the fucking shit! I remember back in my child hood they this at the local Safeway. Everytime my mom would be checking out at the register i'd always go and play a few rounds of this. I completely forgot about this game. Thanks for memories =)

  • my review is better =D

  • You should really do a review between the Arcade and SNES version of Knights of the Round

  • The arcade one has blood and 3 player support.

  • could you do some more stages atleast?

  • Do you think you can do a Run through of the game?
