Crap, I thought that I was watching the video adaption of George Orwell's book. A good bit of all it seems unnecessary anyway - regular tetras and bunnies are fine, thank you. And if you've ever watched a clip of that woman's double-muscled whippet, you can see that all that bulk puts a great deal of strain on the animal affected by it. At least her dog was born that way by a fluke - all that strain was put on that bull purposely. I doubt we need more food, not with how much is wasted over here.

We all need things to pose a threat/danger because it's how the Earth has evolved into the way it is today. Man is a part of nature, and it is in the nature of man to experiment with things. You're right, partially; cenarios which bare similarities to movies like the Island of Dr. Moreau and Resident Evil *could* happen, but it's also because of those movies that we -- hopefully -- avoid it like the plague.
