@magicstorm1: Well, the shipping tube for the individual missile is useless after, true. But the Command Launch Unit, the sighting system the soldier uses, is detached and hooked onto another missile for the next shot.

Yeah, but what's 80 grand when you're taking out a high profile target in like a cavalcade or something.

You couldn't use it as a high use weapon, but you could really give someone the shits with a dozen or so.

@y512516: If you mean "its wired" in that it uses wire-guidance, no. Unlike MILAN, TOW, Eryx, and other ATGMs the Javelin uses a thermal seeker and once launched, does not require further input from the gunner. Thus, a "fire & forget" weapon.
