This stuff is great fun to watch. If Bogart had been around to be interviewed by James Lipton on Inside the Actor's Studio I'm guessing his favorite swear word would have been "Goddammit!"
Godddamn it, what a great video, its great to see actors bloopers it makes them seem more human, and even the coolest of men like Bogart seem to have to many whiskeys sometimes and forget his lines.
Apparently one reason bloopers of old stuff is hard to find is that they did what they could to save film, which was pretty expensive early on (or else they were just trying to save money on film). Notice when Bogart asks someone offscreen "Can you pick it up?". Or the scene where they restart right away.
This stuff is absolutely GREAT!!!! It's all priceless. Thanks so much for uploading. It's been a blast! Find more of this stuff, if you can. It's truly "Idiot's Delight". We'll watch it all with great amusement. Hail, to the unconquerable heros!!
@EmilyHeartsCookies The chair fall is actually a scene from the film the Big Shot. The clip around 2:18 is from Dark Victory -- the scene with the burning, I don't know if you meant that one -- but I don't know what film it is at 1:23.
tell me who else could look so goog falling off a chair and getting right back up lyke nothing happened(that hecka made my day with the chair, the bogart and the god damn its)MAN I LOVE BOGART he is 1 calssy man and at the same time a hot tempered boy
@afrenchindublin hey thank u for uploading this! i love Humphrey Bogart or as i also like to call him from the caine mutiny Captain Phillip Francis Queeg thanks again i love this guy!
@afrenchindublin Yes, it's from "To Have and Have Not" Slim's line of 'this is the time for it' Steve: 'the time for what?' Slim: 'the story of my life.'
Bogart never said his lines wrong, but he certainly had a lot of "God Damn" lines. I loved the outfit Betty Davis was in. I am am slightly surprised it passed censorship in those days.
my old man, long gone, used to look and sound like bogart. this was often singled out by people. however, he only said, "damn" whenever he messed up. maybe because he was more religious than humphrey was.
I usually do not watch these blunder things because i dont like to mess up my view of the person by seeing them out of character but humphrey bogart is so cool that even when he messed up it was not a joke it was "hey this is business lets get it right" attitude. There is no one i can compare with humphrey bogart. Mr ulnard or a gangster this guy is on my favorite people list.
I once read that Bogart got very pissed off when he or others forgot their lines! You can see some of that here. I am sure there is more that will not be made public because of him using the "F" word. He was all about getting it done! He was Great !! Check out "Icons Radio Hour" on the web, it is a weekly radio documentary about the Icons of Hollywood like Bogart. It is very good, free, no bullshit to listen and hosted by Bogart's Son! Past shows 24/day! "Google: Icons radio hour". Peace!
I was watching Key Largo the other day, I couldn`t believe how well that was filmed, it was like a digital camera did it but in black and white. It looked like it was done 2 seconds ago, just clear as hell but it was a movie filmed almost 70 years ago. The close ups were insane, Lauren Bacall only 23years old and she looked like any other young girl who could have been filmed a day ago.
Bogey has always been a fave of mine... how gratified I am to find out that his most natural and unconscious expletive is, coincidentally, mine as well...
Hump Me Bogart! LOL just kidding... i'll leave that to Lauren Bacall
