I've been to PP in three states, and have never found them to be anything but helpful and comforting. In the 20 years I've gone there, I've never been deceived by some vicious counselor making the big bucks off working there. PP makes significantly less money than private OB/GYN clinics. Eh, I'm a liberal, but I'm not really an environmental wacko. I don't know enough about that to intelligently respond. All I can say is that I've taken birth control, and it made me gain a little weight, but otherwise it helped me immensely by regulating my period and lessening the cramp pain. Also, BC use is (ideally) used under a doctor's supervision -- like all other meds.
I don't know. Haven't done the research as to the greenhouse gases necessary to produce both or the lasting effects they have on their environments.
I DO, however, know that exercising a little bit of self-control doesn't hurt the environment at all.

No. One of the hallmarks of being human is the ability to control our physical urges by our conscious decisions. Example: If you want to lose weight, even though you're hungry and your body is compelling you to eat, you can choose not to eat. Animals lack the ability to control those urges, but people don't. Sex is like most other urges. It's powerful and driving, but it can be resisted for a greater good, like not putting the person you love through the stress of an unplanned pregnancy.
I have not at all intended to imply that it is easy. Most things that are good for us require us to struggle. I'm saying we have the ability to sacrifice one good for the sake of a greater good. Sex IS good--when used in the proper context, kind of like fire in your fireplace is good, but fire in the middle of your living room is awful. We have the ability to decide which of our urges to obey and which to resist until a better time.

I've been to PP in three states, and have never found them to be anything but helpful and comforting. In the 20 years I've gone there, I've never been deceived by some vicious counselor making the big bucks off working there. PP makes significantly less money than private OB/GYN clinics. A dear friend terminated a pregnancy there and was treated with nothing but compassion and care. They're not handing out coupons looking for repeat customers. Go PP, you rule!!

-Child sexual abuse is defined as sexual abuse, molestation, fondling or carnal knowledge of a child under thirteen (13) (not fourteen, the age Rose claimed)
-For the purposes of reporting, child sexual abuse is also defined as these acts with a 13-17 year old by a parent or guardian of the child.
-Rose is allegedly 14 and the boyfriend is not her guardian; the PP employee is not required to report the situation.

Here we are so careful to either avoid meat or eat meat that hasn't been treated with hormones, or to be careful about what waste we release into the environment, or we're concerned about estrogen-like substances leeching from water bottles--but we have no trouble ingesting synthetic hormones into our own bodies and releasing them into the environment through our urine. All I can say is that I've taken birth control, and it made me gain a little weight, but otherwise it helped me immensely by regulating my period and lessening the cramp pain. Also, BC use is (ideally) used under a doctor's supervision -- like all other meds.

I don't know. Haven't done the research as to the greenhouse gases necessary to produce both or the lasting effects they have on their environments.
I DO, however, know that exercising a little bit of self-control doesn't hurt the environment at all.
I'm not saying it is or should be easy, but last I checked the principles behind the green movement don't claim it should be easy--just that it's worth it.

People aren't getting dumber on the whole. Instead, women are waiting until they themselves are older and more mature before they're getting married. The reason the age gap is closing is because now, instead of having 21-year-old women marrying 27-year-old men, the women are waiting until they're 25 themselves before they get married.
Seems like waiting until they're more mature to make such a decision is quite a bit SMARTER to me...

Get a customer while she's young, and she's very likely to come back. Even if the first one is free, the rest won't be. That's the whole purpose behind offering discounts on anything. Here's what you're missing: It DOESN'T MATTER whether she's trying to protect him. It doesn't matter if she DID want to have sex. It is still, by law, statutory rape. The ONLY requirement is that she is under the age of consent.
The clinic counselors do THINK they are helping the girl, but they're really sending a confused child back into the abusive embraces of a man who's taking advantage of her naivete. We have reporting laws to compensate for the stupidity of those counselors.

Since statutes about victimization of children vary so widely by state, often falling under all sorts of different names, any law that refers to violation of a child is, as a category, called a statutory rape. Many states do not use that language explicitly, but the felonies mentioned are the kinds of sanctions I've been referring to as punishments for the action.
IMO, probably not, depending on where you lived, and almost certainly not intentionally, even if you were in violation of laws.

No. One of the hallmarks of being human is the ability to control our physical urges by our conscious decisions. Example: If you want to lose weight, even though you're hungry and your body is compelling you to eat, you can choose not to eat. Animals lack the ability to control those urges, but people don't. Sex is like most other urges. It's powerful and driving, but it can be resisted for a greater good, like not putting the person you love through the stress of an unplanned pregnancy.

If you want to get really technical, "celibacy" refers to the state of remaining unmarried. It's because Catholics don't condone sex outside of marriage that their promise also means they won't have sex. It's a sin, but not a broken vow.

And yes, since priests represent the Church like ambassadors represent their countries, the Church is responsible for their actions. For crying out loud. How many times are you unsuccessfully going to try to contend that the counselor knew that? If she did, why did she admit she should go get her manager and that the alleged father of the child should get in trouble?
I understand it didn't really happen. That's the whole idea with undercover investigative journalism. But the counselor did not know there had been no statutory rape. She's required to report it as long as she thinks there had.
