MY CUSTOMIZE IS FULLY WORKING! i tweaked your instructions a little bit. I'm not saying this will work for everybody, but it did for me.

WHAT I DID:

-Do everything George3694 says (ssh, etc.)

-Once you are comfortably finished with all that.. Turn airplane mode on. (or wifi off for ipod touches)

-Then turn it back on and QUICKLY open the customize app before the wifi loads back.

it should be opened and loaded.

**but you have to redo the process everytime you download a new theme or file set.

Hey,

Try restarting or re-springing your iPod. If the Customize icon still doesn't appear then you may of hidden it somewhere. To unhide it download something called BossPrefs and add it to the dock.

Hmm, Is this on the iPod Touch 2G?? Maybe try rebooting or shut down customize then retry. It may also be a problem with the new iPods.

Hey, I did everything you said.. all worked perfect.. and i managed to change some system strings AND download a theme....

and it seemed to be working perfectly normal, but as soon as it downloaded it didn't show ANYTHING in the "theme browser" OR the "customize images/sounds" folder.

-i redid everything, played around with it couple times, tried everything i can think of.. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Hey,

Customize is dead basically. This is the only way that I know of to get it to work in any way. The only thing that does work is the ability to edit the system strings. The theme browser etc don't work and probably never will.

Hey,

when you are connected to Wi-Fi you need to go into settings then Wi-Fi and then next to the network that you are connected to you will need to click the blue arrow. Your iP address will be there. Enter it into Cyberduck. You also need to have the connection as SFTP. I will be doing a video on this shortly.

Sorry for the slow reply. If you did everything I did in the video then I really don't know. All I can say is double check that you have the folder SSHed into the correct place on your iPod and that all you connections to the web are turned off.

Hey,

Make sure you have the file in the right place aka Private/Var/Mobile/Library. Once you have the file in, you need to turn Wi-Fi off and then customize should launch.

That is all you have to do. If you thin you have done the above then check of the file is in the correct place.

Make sure you have the file 'SSHed' into your iPod. Note:- By the file I mean the link in the description. It's called Customize2 - The File.

When you have done that, you need to turn Wi-Fi off. Once you have done all these steps then it should work.

You should place the file (customize2) that you downloaded into the path that I said in the video and it is also in the description. if you have customize allready installed then there should allready be a customize to folder in there. you need to overwrite this file with the one you downloaded.

It has to be something wrong with the Customize2 file. Customize only crashes when it doesn't recognize anything in it path apparently. Make sure you have SSHed the file in the correct place. See whats in it and see if it matches with the copy on your desktop. Keep checking until you find something wrong with the file. It's not you it's the software that is hard to use. lol

I don't use Winscp often but I don't think it comes up with a box it does it automatically. It would only come up with a box if it was going to overwrite something. Do you have customize installed? Anyway, Thanks for subscribing!

yes, it should be exactly the same steps as I did with Cyberduck but it's obviously going to be a little different because of the interface with the two different programs. Just download the file then drag it into the provided path in the description and then turn airplane mode on or Wi-Fi off for iPod.
