People say that they had to make jasper bat jr. the fanal boss because if they didn't it would have ruined the moral of the game. If the final boss was smooth and cool, it would go against the "Revenge Destroys you" lesson. Which explains JBJ. But Jasper is broken and cheap, so Alice will always be the better boss.

I like this game a lot more than NMH1 for this reason. In NMH1 you didn't really see Travis regretting or showing any mercy towards his opponents but in this game the ranking battles seem to be really taking affect on his brain, making him think that the ranking battles are just fucked up. You also learn that not every assassin wants to fight and they think they can't leave. It's a more emotional game than the first and thats why NMH2 is my favorite between the two.

He killed Alice because of his previous situation with Holly Summers. He dishonored Holly by not wanting to kill her, so similar things probably would've happened with Alice. She would've killed herself, or got gunned down by Sylvia. Also she told him to release her from the cycle. Travis granted her wish and he gave her such an intense and satisfying battle that her words after words sounded like something you'd say after sex. His actions were justified I think.

Travis seems reluctant to fight, and I feel like the designers didn't develop on that quite enough in the ending. There is also lack of resolution between Henry and Travis, as well as Shinobu and Travis. Even if the resolution was silly, I would not care.

The game has been out for some time now so there's probably less discussion, but man, I remember posts about how people wanted Alice to be the final boss, myself included. Her story feels like it would have been far more conclusive, or otherwise fitting. To believe that she would kill Bishop just to get Travis's attention would make sense as well, though it might eliminate some of the "respect" this fight has.

As much as I wanted to feel for Alice, I couldn't. Like Travis, I objectively saw her as the last obstacle to the end.

It didn't help that plotwise, we don't learn jack squat about too many of these killers as is, so it's left up to interpretation or speculation. NMH isn't meant to be TOO deep, but you'd THINK a little elaborating wouldn't hurt.
