In my opinion the only good thing about this game is the fact that it is based on Greek mythology and the gameplay, what they should' ve done was let you play as the greek gods. Imagine zapping enemies with Zues' lightning bolt.

Outside of the Ghost Rider game, I don't think its possible for a game to "copy" god of war since most of its gameplay elements come from other games already. And I mean recent games from the time of its release, and not in a vague all games are built on each other.
Like the part at 2:25 is straight from Prince of Persia, sands of time. which itself took used elements from a game that was recent at the time of its release, Ico. But PoP improved on its mechanics, GOW didn't with anything.
the god of war trilogy is unquestionably the greatest series in the grenre, and could very well be one of the greatest franchises in the entire history of gaming... Opinion doesn't come the equation, I didn't really enjoy god of war, loved god of war 2 and like god of war 3 enough to play it a couple of times.
That's not the point, my opinion is not valid because god of war remains pure awesome despite what I think.

I would say GoW 3 is my favorite. I don't like choosing favorites with the GoW games though. GoW 1 had the best story, GoW 2 had better combat, and GoW 3 had the best combat. Seems like combat did nothing but improve. I've been playing GoW 1 on hard, and DAMN, the Kratos clones at the end are FUCKING difficult. I got pissed and put the game up for a while. I'll come back to it later. :P

@Elmos420Blaze I bought a ps3 version of god of war 1,2 and yes the graphics are not as good as today but they never really bothered me.
Can you imagine what it will be like 5 years from now when all games will be in 3d.

God damn it, why does my GoW 1 disc not work anymore, this is arguably one of the most amazing visuals that the PS2 EVER produced, as well as an amazing story and game play style, arguably one of the best games ever made.
