  • this piece isn't exactly the most advanced when it comes to the technical aspect, but it is extremely so in the musicality of it. there is absolutely no sense of involvement. in the music. yes you can play it, although i suggest you learn how to really practice effectively. also, you have NO idea how this piece goes. this is not a piece a beginning student should be playing. i'm sorry but you're not ready for this piece. i know what i'm saying as i play professionally though i'm still in school.

  • One of my pupils did this for G6, she also got 146points, but played this a lot slower, it's a PRELUDE, not a Rondo, and the Rhytmic features need to be contained within the tempo, although quite laid back, it needs interpretation to ensure the melody between Clarinet and piano, is heard, but not forced, slow down girl, perform the music, don't just play the notes...You could go far providing your technical ability is mastered....

  • @bigfootuk In retrospect maaaybe I play this a bit fast. :P I tend to be a lot less controlled practicing alone than without a pianist and without my teacher. Haven't touched this un...probably since I made the video sadly =/ Thanks for the advice, and well done to your pupil (:

  • I'm doing this 4 my grade 6 exam in november :)

  • I am doing this for grade 6 in like 3 weeks..it was reli good! Well done, yeh it was a lil too fast and their were a few mistakes...but other than that...reli good :) x

  • Aww thankyou =)

And good luck! I did my grade 6 last term - piano g3 next week. Quite glad they're not in the same term lol, had my grade 5 and grade 1 a day between them lol. What other pieces are you doing?

  • I am also doing Concertino and Meditation! Which other pieces did you do? I hate exams though! Sooo worried!

  • Meditation? I thought that was dropped two years ago...(what happened to me was I was originally doing Latin Jive, Prelude from VCK and adagio from the clarinet concerto, but LJ and adagio were dropped in the new syllabus and lj was an either or with meditation)

I did...Prelude from Finzi's five bagatelles, The thingy from the clarinet quintet by Mozart and that really horrible one by James Rae.

  • oh rite!! I think meditation is still in the syllabus! I only got 3 days :S Ahh! lol!

How long you been playing clarinet for then?

  • Six years, seven in september I think.

    You?

  • 5 years nerli six I think! lol

    Had my exam today!

It went..okaii! :S I hope it did anyway!

    lol!

What did you get in your Grade 6 last term and have you done your grade 3 piano yet?

If not, good luck for that!

  • 112 I think (: I fooked up me pieces in my head anyway, so I don't think I did too bad :P

    I bet you'll have done fine :)

Did my grade 3 last monday, went better than my clarinet lol. I'd memorised all my pieces by that time so I had plenty of time to work on scales ad stuff.

  • Awesome!

In my head I think I fucked up on the Aural!

    But...hopefully I have passed!

Yeh you have probably done really well on your grade 3!

    :)

  • Slightly too fast...but otherwise great!

  • would have to agree with that one. thankyou =)

  • oops...srsly...i keep pressing the wrong buttons. reply and remove are too close together :P

I should probably slow it down, yes :P I played it slower like before christmas, but then after I started doing honk! I got a bit cocky with quavers and fingerings and stuff.

my cl teacher keeps telling me to listen to recordings, I just never get round to it xD
