  • I love all this stuff - I grew up with it. Garrison's gueillas, Giddeion's Isle etc

  • is this the kind of entertainment we used to know befroe reality tv killed our brains

  • Excellent Department S.Why dont we see it on ITV2

  • Funny to look back at Peter Wyngarde playing a ladies'man now knowing he is homosexual. It was a very well kept secret back then...Great actor!

  • Where is Rosemary Nicholls.?Loved her - so sexy.

  • Those were such stylish a well mannered days, I really miss quality British TV dramas (and films) of this style and standard. Randle and Hopkirk, The Persuaders, The Prisoner and New Avengers were equally excellent.

  • @olli7776

hi i could not agree with you more

do you remember the baron and danger man

  • Department S was one of the best TV shows around in 1969.

Also had the best theme music.

  • I love Annabelle Hurst! She's witty, charming and sexy!

  • Here, here. Rosemary Nicols was a beautiful woman, great legs, lovely eyes and mouth. Oh to kiss those lips... Wonder where she is now?

  • agreed, rosemary nichols was a 60,s babe, i remember seeing her in some other i.t.c productions from that era but she was never sexier than annabelle hurst....:)

  • I remember having seen this episode back in 76 in black and white, I never thought I would ever see it again, and in color, what a beautiful goddess she was, and those legs, man I was just a kid back there, no chance at all.

  • WOW! I'd always ascribed Rosemary Nichols as one of the dowdier female characters in cult TV land (along with Linda Thorson of course). As Peter Wyngarde's character says: 'It's an improvement'. Not dowdy then, but demure.

  • best opening titles of any TV show, and Rosemary add great legs.

  • Rosemary Nicols is absolutely stunning looking and a brilliant actress. Department S more than deserves its cult status. Sha also uses some karate skills in season. We should make a fan club for this wonderful lady! I believe she lives in Malta now...

  • Sadly, I was out of the country in 1968 and never saw Department S, which - unlike The Persuaders or Randle & Hopkirk - didn't get repeated. It's only recently that I saw this episode on satellite. Watching the series in 2007 I fell in love with the super cute Rosemary Nicols. If only it really was 1968, I'd make an honest woman of her...

  • You have taste...sheer class and so like the Lovely Linda Thorson who played Tara King in The Avengers. And isn't the incidental music just brilliant too....

  • I had this clip on vhs tape at one point, nice to see a good quality version of it. She certainly thinks on her feet!

  • Thanks Andi. Another great clip, though I've got to wonder, does she always carry a wig with her? If so, that's preparation.

  • Hey we're talking about Annabelle Hurst here.
