I do hope i don't sound like a noob.. but umm... I have the Hellfire expansion, i went through the whole game, but once Diablo(Dark Lord) showed up and i fought him, the game ends immediately.

What did i do wrong? i can't go on to fight in the hive. Was i suppose to talk to the cow herder?

@TheStrongestBaka they were too unbalanced and made sorcerer incredibly overpowered.with mana shield he could toss out vitality and put all of his points into magic.with firewall and fire wave he could wipe out entire rooms of enemies in seconds where the warrior and rogue would take much longer.those spells were either removed or modified in diablo II so not everyone would be playing sorceress like they were playing sorcerer in diablo 1

The Hive looks like something out of StarCraft. Clearly a poor design decision.

But the Crypt on the other hand fits into the Diablo universe nicely. I always enjoy that part :)

Dude I have played through this game and I just wanna test out rigged/maxed character types to see which playthrough I wanna do next. Thing is, every trainer I try doesn't work. I have used just about all of the ones out there. Patched Hellfire to v1.01 and I think my Diablo is either v1.08 or v1.07 I got one of raymonds to half-work on Hellfire v1.00, only a third of the features worked. Could some one tell me about one that works easily on 1.01? Thank you very very much!

I always wondered how the hell did Blizzard manage to make graphics and animations so bad in Diablo 2 ; compared to diablo 1 which made in 96.

Just look at a zombie at d1 ; smoothness and crispiness of the image and animation ; also the dying animations. and then switch to d2 and look at the zombies...you'll notice the difference I believe

Also stages in D2 are so uninspired and virtually no atmosphere to be found

The expansion simply adds two new dungeons (The Hive, which plays similarly to the insect tunnels in Chapter 2 of Diablo 2; and the Crypt, which looks somewhat like Hell in Diablo 2) in addition to a few new items (Blacksmith's Oil, for instance, repairs an item by 20%). New spells, a new monk class are also included, while the boss rooms for certain bosses in the un-expanded Diablo game have been tweaked a bit for atmosphere (the rooms appear slightly more unique for the boss).

If you think about it the hive doesn't make much sense....about the only way it does is by following the logic that the cast out demon lord that you fight at the end of the Cathedral made the hive spawn in a effort to combat the humans and Diablo....but then again its a expansion only made to add flavor to it...not something Blizzard made :P....

It is ironic though that some things are taken from Hellfire whether Blizz claims them all being unintentional. The Barbarian class used D2, how the Bard can use 2 x Two-Handed weapons like Barbarian in D2, Monk class for D3, spiderish monsters in D2 and similar kind of caves in D2 act 3, the ability to run (or jog in Hellfire) was used and how runes were added to game (while no resemblance to runes in D2) and oils have similar effects like gems/runes did in D2. Ironic.

Well, that is a down side, but a positive part about that is you can kill more enemies, and get more EXP, instead of in D1, once you killed those enemies, you weren't going to get anymore EXP unless you went down to the next level, where the enemies were even harder.

how many things were immune to lightning? chain lightning was one of the best spells and you overused fireball. With how easy it is to get gold at your lvl why didn't you just stock your inv full of mana pots and blast through everything with aoe spells like crazy? you have apocalypse for that matter, so why didn't you just rape with it?

I just did this with my lvl 15 monk on normal;; ( just Hive ) and thats damn hard... but its a good challenge,, I was lucky I had a Doppelganger staff of holy bolt for good damage,, and found that cloth what gave me the good armor else i died at the defiler
