You're wrong. The price of items actually decreased from 1800 to 1900.. Since there was only so much gold and silver in circulation, the more goods available made the price come down. The legal definition of a dollar is 371.25 grains of silver.. One ounce of silver bought 4 gallons of gas back then. One ounce of silver still buys 4 gallons of gas now. That's the point. Prices would be held in check.

I know the money doesn't go to Ron Paul (I already donated $100 to his campain), but it does contribute to his campain if you spend it because people will see Ron Paul's face on money and possibly make them look into him more. Also, the copper and gold ones are money for money value so it is a simple exchange of $1 USD for $1 ALD or $1,000 USD for $1,000 ALD. The silver ones have increased in price though due to high demand so it is now $25 USD for $20 ALD.
However, I love the concept of a competing monetary system. Can you buy stuff with liberty dollars (and I don't mean flea market bartering or collectible trading)? Will McDonalds take it? Will banks take it? Can it be used as currency, anywhere?
there are usually lists of stores that accept liberty dollars in your town/city. I would do some homework. When I lived in Austin there was a decent sized list of shops/stores that accepted liberty dollars. The liberty dollar is backed by gold and silver unlike reg dollars.

we dont control the dollar ...thats the arguement ..the dollar is owned by the Federal Reserve and it can destroy it if they want..if the Fed where to create a new paper money say a EURO they could destroy the dollar becuase the illusion of wealth and security is still there but merely transfered.life is getting better in many parts of europe ..the EURO is all of a sudden being held by rappers in videos while american houseing and economy goes into the bankrupt road of the USSR

You're wrong. The price of items actually decreased from 1800 to 1900.. Since there was only so much gold and silver in circulation, the more goods available made the price come down. The legal definition of a dollar is 371.25 grains of silver.. One ounce of silver bought 4 gallons of gas back then. One ounce of silver still buys 4 gallons of gas now. That's the point. Prices would be held in check.

Technically correct, not even gold is inflation "proof" -- a huge change in the supply will alter its value relative to other commodities -- which is pretty much the case against fiat paper. A metallic standard, however, would be inflation RESISTANT. Which should we trust more? -- money backed by silver and gold, or political integrity and the good will of bankers?

Post 2 of 2: Bottom line, the government should not borrow money from the privately owned fed at interest. The people of America should have the power to regulate the supply of our own money! It is important to realize that there can never be a 'standard' (ie the gold standard). People give money value, and therefore the people that use the currency should have control over the creation and contraction of the supply of it. I encourage everyone to research this topic further. Currency cannot not be 'based' on anything; gold, silver, feathers, etc. There is no inherent value in gold, silver, diamonds, feathers, shells, oil, dirt, or ANYTHING! Why is gold worth anything? Because of people. Why is money worth anything? not because of gold, because of people.

This issue is so important because it is through money that we are primarily enslaved. The dollar will soon be history. We have to go back to a gold standard. I'm tired of holding worthless paper with NWO masonic pyramids, all seeing eyes, etc, etc. Ron Paul's image in it would be appropriate. It may not be this one specifically. I also heard of the rainbow currancy. Who knows? At this point anything! So long it has real value behind it, would be better than a worthless paper bill.

ANY commodity based currency, voluntarily exchanged, would be preferable to F'eral $. Try to make it a point to offer SOME alternative to F'eral paper, whether Liberty Dollars, Ithaca Hours, or Confederate Mint Metallic Certificates.

Right and wrong. I know the money doesn't go to Ron Paul (I already donated $100 to his campain), but it does contribute to his campain if you spend it because people will see Ron Paul's face on money and possibly make them look into him more. Also, the copper and gold ones are money for money value so it is a simple exchange of $1 USD for $1 ALD or $1,000 USD for $1,000 ALD. The silver ones have increased in price though due to high demand so it is now $25 USD for $20 ALD.

However, I love the concept of a competing monetary system. Can you buy stuff with liberty dollars (and I don't mean flea market bartering or collectible trading)? Will McDonalds take it? Will banks take it? Can it be used as currency, anywhere?

there are usually lists of stores that accept liberty dollars in your town/city. I would do some homework. When I lived in Austin there was a decent sized list of shops/stores that accepted liberty dollars. The liberty dollar is backed by gold and silver unlike reg dollars.

No, not everywhere, but you don't know until you try. I carry them and offer them frequently. Cashiers are delighted or suspicious; they take them or they don't. If they ask I explain the details, but no more than they ask, just as I don't hector them about Federal Reserve Account Units of Debt if they don't question my paper.

Ron Paul supports competition in the $ industry. Fiat service providers rob us & countries with their monopoly. It should be supported but not as a method to raise funds but awareness. Copper $1, great 4 gifts & maintain value better then paper. Pic on the coin is great. Beats worthless coins I have in jars & drawers.
