Selling games is like selling any other product. Cars, cosmetica, clothes. If I buy a car and something is wrong I complain & get my money back. That's very obvious. Codemasters certainly used false marketing with Dragon Rising. It worked. So if people buy it they will keep doing it - because It's working. If I were lying as much as Sion Lenton did about, let's say a car, I would certainly get busted for false marketing.

What really is relevant is the fact that Codemasters were to lazy ang greedy to put a pilot class into the game, aswell as the ability to be a tank commander. You could play as both a infantry soldier, tank commander, and pilot in the orginal Flashpoint developed by Bohemia Interactive. That was ten years ago. CM lives in the stoneage releasing broken products build on lies and false hope.

This game is NOT a simulation. Sion have said that many times. This game is more in line with battlefield and/or call of duty, with stick-to-aim, perks, achievements, healing bags, strafing while shooting precise, dumbed down AI, and stereotypical characters and so on.
Diffrence is, battlefield 3 will kick this games ass especially as being an authentic shooter. BF quality. This game doesnt have that. Just look at dragon rising. Pure crap.

Operation Flashpoint isn't what it used to be. OFP: CWC is one of the best sim shooters there is. They should rename this game not to make shame of the awesome first Operation Flashpoint.

Because It's cheaper not to include map editor, SKD (ability to mod the game) aircraft, competetive multiplayer and such.. Too time consuming for them. Obviously, CM do not care about making a good game, more about selling a successfull product. That's why they're doing the game more like call of duty.. with perks for rapid recovery, stick-to-aim.. so cod fans can pick up the game as if it were the same game.

Sorry, but it's gonna get worse. There wont be any map editor, freeroam, or competetive multiplayer, plus, it will be less realistic with more cod-like gameplay, with stickaim, perks and stuff.

Arma on 360 would suck and ruin it for everybody. Any future releases would go through more feature-cutting like OFP has for the sake of making it play nice with the hardware.

@RajorMajor you could do that on the pc version actually, because you got the mission editor you could set up battles where ever you wanted and vehicles/helicopters so you can go around the whole entire island if you wanted, the map or mission editor on the pc version is a great thing, it makes it almost totally infinitely re playable its sad they are taking that out now for red river.....still buying it tho !! :))

@kohichu14 It was, it was just the same cod/moh on bigger maps, like battlefield series. If you don't know how a mil sim looks and plays, check out Project reality, original ofp, arma series or the ultimate VBS. This is just arcade and advertised as a mil sim and a true ofp expansion just to get more money and it turned out like it had to be, it's a console game and it will stay like that so don't expect any wonders from this part aswell.

@BTBAS11 makes sense to me. I'm assuming where going to actually see some mainland combat, so assuming the game is using the marines the way their suppose to be used, rather than how we use them in real life, the marines were just there to secure a landing so the army can get soldiers in.

The game isnt even out yet...chill the fuck out dudes. Dragon rising has its issues..and since i was never a PC gamer it was my first Military Sim on consoles so i enjoyed it...but that doesn't mean i want Dragon rising Version 2.0 as a fucking sequel.

I agree that there are other forces that we could play as (such as Brits) and would be great to play as British soldiers but America currently is one of the most powerful military forces on Earth. Both have their strengths.

As with all sims it's the tactical game play I'm looking for. Working out strategies on how to assault or defend a position is something COD etc. can't provide. Working with friends or randoms is all part of the challenge. BFBC2 is the nearest there is. As good as it is it's still not the full simulation which the original OpFlash gave us. OF2 had it's heart in the right place but it was shit execution & badly supported

Gotta say i'm looking forward to this game, but i'm not looking forward to the lack of competitive multiplayer that has been reported. as glitchy as it was, OFP: DR's multiplayer was fun at times, fighting human players is always fun, as they aren't some dumb AI that stand around and wait to be shot
They needed to do something about the flow of the game, DR felt very clumsy at times and the AI was not where it should be in a simulator. Seems to me that all they want to do is give it some personality and make it flow better. Not make it Call Of Duty.

This game is NOT a simulation. Sion have said that many times. This game is more in line with battlefield and/or call of duty, with stick-to-aim, perks, achievements, healing bags, strafing while shooting precise, dumbed down AI, and stereotypical characters and so on.
Diffrence is, battlefield 3 will kick this games ass especially as being an authentic shooter. BF quality. This game doesnt have that. Just look at dragon rising. Pure crap.
If you want a sim buy arma.

Because It's cheaper not to include map editor, SKD (ability to mod the game) aircraft, competetive multiplayer and such.. Too time consuming for them. Obviously, CM do not care about making a good game, more about selling a successfull product. That's why they're doing the game more like call of duty.. with perks for rapid recovery, stick-to-aim.. so cod fans can pick up the game as if it were the same game.

If you don't know how a mil sim looks and plays, check out Project reality, original ofp, arma series or the ultimate VBS. This is just arcade and advertised as a mil sim and a true ofp expansion just to get more money and it turned out like it had to be, it's a console game and it will stay like that so don't expect any wonders from this part aswell.

I like driving sims doesn't mean I want to be a race driver.
As with all sims it's the tactical game play I'm looking for. Working out strategies on how to assault or defend a position is something COD etc. can't provide. Working with friends or randoms is all part of the challenge. BFBC2 is the nearest there is. As good as it is it's still not the full simulation which the original OpFlash gave us. OF2 had it's heart in the right place but it was shit execution & badly supported

If some of you flashpoint lovers love realism so much why not join the freaking army. Theres nothing more irritating than someone looking for a realistic experience on a damn console, thats like looking for fish in a damn sandstorm. I want to have fun when playing games not pretend am in a realistic environment while knowing I am not

Gotta say i'm looking forward to this game, but i'm not looking forward to the lack of competitive multiplayer that has been reported. as glitchy as it was, OFP: DR's multiplayer was fun at times, fighting human players is always fun, as they aren't some dumb AI that stand around and wait to be shot

They needed to do something about the flow of the game, DR felt very clumsy at times and the AI was not where it should be in a simulator. Seems to me that all they want to do is give it some personality and make it flow better. Not make it Call Of Duty.

Uggggg So frustrating! It could be such a good middle ground between ARMA2 and COD.... too bad they'll probably ^%$& it up like OPF:DR with Peer to Peer, no mission editing,crappy game types... etc etc.

Fuck Codemasters and these tools. OFP IS about hardcore simulation!!! That's what makes it unique and fun for us hardcore type. I don't like the "press x to win" style of gameplay seen in CoD. To hell with that noob kiddie shit. Dragon Rising was a major fail and this next one will obviously be fail too.
