Remove troops from Iraq and put them in Afghanistan. Any soldier in Iraq would be happy to go to Afghanistan if given the choice. Troops hire Afghans to rebuild and pay them quite well. It helps to get them on our side.

The only reason McCain had her as vp is so he could win over the Hillary Clinton voters. I doubt McCain respects her political views. In an interview Alaskan residents said the only reason Sarah Palin is governor is because she's pretty and she lets people do what they want.

Afghanistan - lest we forget. 4000 innocents died on 911 - perhaps if NATO honored it's post-911 "unconventional support" pledge we would be doing a lot better there. When the GOP had the majority in the House, the Crats' argument was not that elections were right, but they demanded to get their way everything. They aren't returning in kind now.

Obama isn't working with Republicans; he's just trying to sweet talk them into agreeing with him all the way. He isn't compromising at all.

They may have been the minority but the media was still backing them up, talking them up and constantly tearing down the GOP and Bush with false innuendo and false allegations as well as hyperbolae about every Bush ideal. They blocked meaningful tax cuts for everyone across the board, Social Security reform, federal judicial appointees, and even funding for the War on Terror.

If Bush had HALF the positive coverage the Dems got post-9/11 we would never have had to go to Iraq in the first place.

No I was not in a coma after 9/11 - the only planning for Iraq started only after 2002 when Al-Qaida was setting up shop in Iraq.

9-11 was seen as a good excuse to start the war, as there was a huge surge in patriotism

Afghanistan was just the US attempt to get payback for 911. We went to get Osama and topple the Taliban that was aiding him and his network. That's the official story. Winning hearts and mind over there with healthcare, food, etc is great, but don't we need that over here? To hell with guerilla wars in BFE, the Soviets learned that in Afghanistan.

Pakistan is the worry, Osama is there in the tribal areas, sympathizers are in Paki intelligence (ISI), they have nukes and subs to deliver them.

The Taliban harbored Bin Laden during and after our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed, as well as after the attack on the U.S.S. Cole and on 9/11.
