one of my bassets is 50 pounds and acts like a lap dog. you will wake up and he will be on top of you., and if you move him and dont move out of the way he will come back. you can shake him so hard, and he wont wake up sometimes. its funny, because its like he doesnt know how to bite. when he bites it tickles. my other basset growls if you try and move him, but he never bites.

hahah i just pick up my sleeping basset hound and set him on the floor when he has to get up. he looks around all confused and then lays down for pets on the floor. "walk" would work, too, but we can't even say that word unless we're going to take him for one right that second. it'd just be cruel. your dog is super cute by the way. i like how annoyed he looks hahaha

This is the exact same routine I go through with my Basset RJ. He always just looks at me like I am crazy. Stubborn as hell but I love the little guy.

My first dog although he was a beagle his name was baxter. I think he will be the best dog I will ever have he listened to everything I told him he didn't need a leash and he would play fetch, I miss em now.
