Being the drive in nut that I am, I've seen as many drive in documentarys as possible. DRIVE IN BLUES was nice. The Sanders Doc was fantastic, I saw a 35mm screening at the CAPRI. One really sucked, the producers camped at a DI but didn't show it I think it had "sunset" in the title. My OUTDOOR MOOVIES efforts were heartfelt, but not as refined as this magnificent work of art. 5 STARS! Can't wait to see the whole thing. When will it be released? Beautiful Footage! Great Job! Thanks!
A drive-in movie motel?! Interesting... Boy I MISS those days! As a kid, we would go and I would be dressed in my jammies since I usually would FALL ASLEEP before the SECOND movie was over! Great memories! :P
Probably the biggest thing against drive-ins today is land value. The amount of land they sit on is far more valuable to the owner to sell than to operate his business.
please do another 1 soon enjoyed your clips and would like to know if anyone has photos to share of abc noblesville-south 31-greenwood-wsw meridan drive in of indiana, thank you
video movie rentals, cable movie channels and multiplex cinemas are mostly to blame. Taking the family to a multiplex cinema is very expensive. Make the effort and visit a drive-in while you still! Like teh guys says 'its part of American culture'
I never understood why drive ins started to decline. I mean I understand better sound and stuff from a walk in theater but who doesnt want to sit under the stars on a summer night and watch a movie. Plus you can get drunk at the drive in too!
am a southern california resident (doing that showbiz thing cuz i love movies), but visited tampa and went to funland drive-in theatre. is that the one?
That was great! I can't wait to see the full film. The drive-ins look amazing! They show one Canadian drive-in near the end. The Docks Drive-in (now the Lakeview Drive-in) downtown Toronto. It is a golf driving range in the day.
I lost my drive-in last year and I am still so sad. I don't think I will ever get over it.

We still have them in Arizona, but they are just like the multiplexes...not the same as the old days. One in Glendale has 9 screens!

We are currently in the process of rescuing a Drive-In, if you have any interest for your movie, let me know.
