  • I wonder if they had some corrosive ammo shot through some of these to mess u the bluing. Mine looks like yours around the topof the magazine,where the shell ejects and the end of the barrel,and alittle on the extractor. But the bore looks great inside

  • Likely was blood that took the blueing off. Had that happen with my 1911 because a dern fool wants to handle it right after dressing a deer and didn't tell me or wash his bloody hands. Took the blueing right off when I cleaned it off after finding it dirty.

  • I would imagine doing any restoration on these old guns would only decrease their value.

    I had to laugh about the suggestion to send it back to the factory for rebluing.

  • why don't you just send it off to smith and wesson to reblue it? it's probably less than 50 with the shipping.
