OGjibmo, pls explain to me (again?) what these portraits (in motion) try to accomplish? To me it sometimes feels like your trying to rattle the creationists chain. Is this perhaps because reason isnt coming through to them?
Well yes, I think one like this one here is really just to poke a little fun at the Youtube Creationists.
I keep doing the art videos because, as far as I can tell anyway, there are a great number of my subscribers who really like them and many that subscribed specifically because they wanted to see more of them.
If I get the feeling that everybody's getting tired of them, I'll stop doing them.
@OGjimbo thnx for the reply. However, i cant help but think it might damage the moral high ground we as atheists and freethinkers and the such have over the intentionally ignorant/ intentionally lying creationists such as NephilimFree. Its not ment as criticism, just a little worry I had. Last thing we need is a namecalling contest between atheists/ 'evolutionists' and creationists, while we have em on the run with 'our' arguments. nicely done though!
@niekvdbogert Totally 100%+ agree with you on that, Niekvdbogert...
however ....
I figure, screw it. People have been debating and debating and debating for centuries. The march of science has been slow but cumulative, and increasing in pace these past centuries. Why? Because when ideas fight, the victor will be the one that most closely matches the known facts/observations. It's only a matter of time before religion bites the big one.
Thnx for the reply. While your model of 'natural selection of ideas' is appealing (the victor is somehow selected for because it matches better with facts), I believe it to be somewhat shallow (no pun intended ;-)). While it may be so in science, in daily life ideas are often 'selected' for their appeal; 'feel good' over rationality. And it is in the 'daily life arena' and not the academic one this fight is is fought. IMO: fight religion with education. Hope to hear from you!
