Giving a Persian the 'Lion Clip' makes them feel much more comfortable and pampered. My persian used to act different for days, waiting for people to admire him and was extra social. Maybe the coat is because they live in a cold climate, the coats of this breed can get very matted. I think this owner loves his/her cat.

Oh everybody get a grip! There are multiple health reasons why a long haired cat may get what is called a "lion cut". Long haired cats sometimes form mats in their fur which are almost impossible to comb out without hurting the cat. Therefore it is a lot less cruel to just take the cat into a groomer to get a lion cut. A lot of people who live in the hotter climates will also get this kind of cut to keep the cat from overheating. Thirdly the cat may have just had an operation.
