goes to show that Lee Roth's voice is second to none!!! his natural chorusing throat needs no effects!!! thats the real real deal folks...AND he can still do it
That is just too damn funny. I love that song, but it is ridiculous when done acapella style. It supports my theory that the secret to Van Halen's greatness was the combination of Roth's singing and Eddie's guitar playing. That was the magic. Roth alone makes no sense, and Roth as a solo artist made no sense. Van Hagar was even more of a joke than that. David and Eddie are an example of where the whole is many times greater than the sum of its parts.

You can always tell who are the idiots on here that arent musicians or dont know anything about music. That sounded great , pretty much every song with each individual instrument do not sound all that great individually , including or especially singing.Too many musical know-it-alls that cant play an instrument or hold a note go stick your heads up your ass. You judgemental jealous wannabee make me sick .
I completely agree with you 100% ...most "musical know it all idiots" don't know what layering, mixing and mastering is. If they listened to the raw vocals of THEIR "so called musical" heroes of today (such as Beyonce, Brittany spears..and others)without all the tricks and gadgets they use on their vocals to make them sound half decent..they would respect this recording because there are no pitch corrections or other tricks ..it's raw and it's fucking great!
He has an AMAZING voice, and it shows here! But the ad libs sound kinda ridiculous without the music. Particularly at the end.

Actually, DLR freely admits to stealing his entire act from -- get this -- Jim Dandy of Black Oak Arkansas. Shees.
Come to think of it, you never see Jim Dandy and Ric Flair at the same place at the same time...

Whats the big deal? You can do this is with almost any rock recording (isolate the vocals and extract all the effects) and it would sound "funny"....

Ok... this is a master reel. A sound engineer is playing just the vocal track.
There is some sound leakage... but its funny.
