  • v8 magnum or the beautiful hemi? oh btw nice truck just happens to my fav :)

  • nothing looks better in red than a Ram

  • nice truck man.. i wanna get a ram so bad but do you think a 4 inch suspension and a 2 inch body would be plenty fine for mudding?

  • @shadowknight99999 depends on what kind of mudding? What kind of trails do you have in mind?

  • @AOZMONSTER well just some fun trails i live in mass theres some pretty good trails around here but no where a near as good as alaska tho.

  • nice truck man! what kinda gas mileage do you get with that in town diving?

  • @MrDirtbiker250r lol, about 7 or 8 mpg

  • @AOZMONSTER haha damn, thats bad

  • @MrDirtbiker250r when you've got a lifted truck, you dont worry about gas mileage, because you don't get any. Trust me, I know.

  • @bcboy787 yea haha, i realized that. i drive a lifted dakota with the 5.2L and it dont get the best mielage haha

  • @MrDirtbiker250r haha i got a 96 ram 1500 on 35s an its not miles per gallon, its gallons per mile lol

  • @basterdchild1234 haha shit man that sounds bad

  • @MrDirtbiker250r its not good but i wouldnt trade it for nothin! ive smoked a newer dmax down the hwy before. damn thing will pass everything but a gas station haha. the only trade ill do is for a cummins!

Oh yeah, I have a plate that I throw in the windsheild, but not many troopers in the bush. ;)

  • Dude you really need a winch that samurai won't be able to recover you. Nice truck though.

  • @1483samurai haha, I've been recovered by smaller in worse places, lol

  • Nice truck!!! 318??

  • @177932 360

  • @AOZMONSTER Nice!!!

  • What do you got for an exhaust system?

  • @Coderrocks completely open cat-back, Alaska doesn't have emissions restrictions. I used to have duels, but 5 feet of snow wrapped them around my axles on a run in Feb 08...

  • Thats a mean looking Dodge..I got a set of 34" ltb's on my dodge and they are amazing offroad.

  • @CVRossco14 Thanks, I like the ltb's too

  • Comment removed

  • sweet dodge...i wish my dakota could do that...

  • Mean Dodge! Great driving too

  • thanks

  • @AOZMONSTER thats how u drive a ram!thats how, u ram that shit! man,im pist at all other ram drivers that baby their trucks, little gas, back up,little gas, shit, Ram that shit!

  • got a link to Interco's website, they put pics and a friend's write-up of a tire that I wrapped up. Pretty neat!

  • Do you snap alot of axleshaft?? cuz i got a 96 with 35s and i blew a u joint with shattered the axleshaft on my front 44

  • I have snapped both inners, and almost mangled one of my outers

  • yea i had to bomb it out of the woods in 2wd which ended up shattering my outer but w.e time for 60s front and rear

  • it is hard to find a set of 60's for a price I can afford right now you know? I can't wait to graduate and be done with the "college" budget...

  • haha yea im leavin for basic training on april 7th so ill have plenty of money to do what i need to..and yea college budget sucks! haha

  • Very nice I think it did very well I have a 98 dodge 1500 with an 11" lift i got a video and going to post another one soon check me out sometime and give me some tips on mudding.

  • he did great! He got a little bogged down in the deep hidden ruts, but he crawled through it!

    UP AND OUT!! haha

  • I think it was a samuria though... either way

  • so i take it the dodge ram is pretty decent off road? im thinking about getting one for my first truck and i love offroading mudboging rock crawling everything

  • this dodge is pretty decent off road...

any truck can be decent off road, it's just how much you build it up and what you put on it.

on the trail that we did after this one, there was a guy in a stock dodge with a huge ridiculous bumper and a busted wal-mart winch that got us stuck on 2 hills for over 8 hours... that dodge was not even decent off road.

but yes, I do like dodges off road and if they are built up right, they can be very decent off road

  • dodge is the best

  • Nice! That thing is a beast!!

  • Thanks!

  • window up?? what the hell man! on the trail at -20*F and your ugly mug is hanging out the window!

  • I happen to think my mug is quite nice!

  • hahaha

  • nice gotta love a good Dodge

  • Wow nice truck! You should be proud, well i guess you are but...

5/5 allthough the clip was short, but still awesome!

  • thanks, I love my truck!!

I am currently building new control arms, but when they get finished, there will be more videos!!

I would like to make the videos somewhat periodical, including builds and others' rigs in my area, but with my current school "Load", it is difficult....

  • Oh i see, i´ll try to watch all your new videos then, and maybe some "old" ones if you have some. Again, cool truck!

  • Thanks!

    I appreciate the support!

  • i have snapped 44 shafts, but never the 9.25... it really isn't that much smaller than a 60 when you measure

  • dude dodge is the best dont mess with da best!

  • Im lookin to get a 99 ram 1500 would i have to re gear to run 35's properly?

  • **disclaimer: not an expert**

i wouldn't think, but it is not a bad idea...

they came with 3.73 stock i believe (check me on that)

i am running 4.10's but i need to regear. the road surface travel between a 40" tire and a 35" tire is about 1/5th difference.

that doesn't seem like much, but when it comes to rebuilding a tranny, or snapping axles, it can add up quick haha

  • check online for deals, you will have to invest in

    dana 44 ds drop - front R&P

    chrysler 9.25 - rear R&P

    master install kits for both

open carriers for both (anything 4.10 and up)

and need tools for the swap as well:

    -standard gear swap set

    -chrysler adjusting ring specialty tool***

***you can make this with the right parts for very cheap!! check online for build articals, Don't pay $300 for a $40 part

  • good luck!!! a dodge has its quirks, but it can really be a lot of fun!!

  • @92toyotapu no, i had 35s on my 99 1500 with the stock 3.55 gears with a 5.9 and it wasnt too bad. but ive got 4.56s now and lets just say that it was worth it.

  • i was planning on either that or 4.88's for my next swap

would you feel comfortable going with larger tires with the gear set you have now?

  • @AOZMONSTER Id feel comfortable, but Id rather have the power under my foot like I do now. I shouldve done 4.88s ATLEAST. At the time, I got 4.56s for 37s, which would work alright, but now I'm doing 40s instead, which'll be dumb with 4.56s. But I honestly dont know, 2 guys I know are running 4.56s on 42s (one of them is a 318) and they say the power is sufficient. But another guy I know is running 41s with 4.88s on his supercharged 360 and he says its not enough. How are the 4.10s with the 39s?

  • not enough i know that much! haha, do you take your rig on the road much or do you trailer?

  • Its my only vehicle haha, I drive it 50 miles each day to school. do you? How does the d44 and 9.25 hold up when you wheel it with those 39s? Im afraid I will be breaking axle shafts if I continue to offroad it with 40s.

  • @1999DodgeRamSport i hvae a 99 2500. i was running 39s and i have the factory 4.10 gearign in he back..... i thoguh it was gutless snd the ride was pathetic i down grade to 32s

  • @CedrikTheManiac00 32s, shit man. i would kill for a 2500. you have dana 60s, you shouldve just regeared and you wouldve been set.

  • Oh I didn't know. I'm not a car/truck guru its not my hobby but my 2004 Ram says "Hemi Magnum 5.7" on it. So which one do I have?

  • haha, no problem. some "Hemi" guys tend to look down on us 360 and straight 6 guys. so i wasn't sure if I was being made fun of or not...

ha, so no problem at all!

the Hemi was the 5.7 you're absolutely right, you have the generation of dodge that was released after mine was. in the 94 - 2001 ram 1500, the largest gas engine made was the 5.9 magnum, aka "the 360"

the hemi is "more or less" a bored version of a smaller block with Hemi-spherical shaped piston & heads

    i give you, the hemi

  • Hell yeah hemi food!

  • hemi food? what is that supposed to mean?

    fyi

    this is a 94 ½ ton.... "magnum"

    not the "hemi"

  • How u lik them iroks? I had a set of 36s on my 99 dodge

  • love them!!!

for all the types of offroading that we have up here, I will never use anything else!

  • Could you please tell me what size tire and what size rim you used? I want to get some tires that are 14.5 wide but the rim i want is only 8 wide. Do you know if that could work or what is the minimum you would recommend for rim width with a tire that wide?

  • i am by NO means, an expert on this...

I have the 39.50/13.50/15.00 on 10 inch wide wheels, this is VERY narrow for such a wide tire. I did this because I like a Lot of side wall, but I think 14.50 on 8 wheels is just too much.

and losing a bead on a wheel that narrow would be a common occurence. If you are going for sidewall protection then I would say stick to anything over 11 inches wide.

but like I said, I am not an expert on this

  • what I should recommend is that you contact a tire guy in your area.

but sometimes you just can't trust them either! when in doubt, Google IT!

Thanks for watching my video too!!

  • Thanx for the help. Yea I did research a little and what people seem to say is that your tire should be no more then 4 inches wider then your rim, thats pushing it. I decided on what I'm gonna do and I just hope it all works. I'm getting an rcd 6inch lift with 15inch rims, 12 inches wide, with 35inch super swampers, 14.5 wide, and a 1 inch wheel spacer. I'm hoping I dont run into any problems with clearance or durability.

  • AWESOME!!

i think you are going to really enjoy those. i have a friend that runs fat TSL's (38's) and he really dominates on the trail!

  • haha nice, that things a beast!

  • nice truck!! Check out our custom t100 on my channel

  • Hey were in alaska is that I live in eagle river, its close to anchorage. is that out at kinik?

  • no, down the glen a bit, past Wasilla

  • more videos to come!!

    waiting for permissions

  • Niccccccce!....Mopar or no car!

  • nice rig man.. i have a 95 dodge that i want to be more or less, like yours

  • i want to put 40's on my dodge ram 1500 could i get away with a 5 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body

  • that is more or less, exactly what i did,

    Keep In Mind!:

    - axle travel. you might have to trim fenders, you may want to remove your sway bar if you want the articulation.

    - lockers, all that tire but no traction...

    - rear end, they will probably send you blocks...

*side note on block lifts, for short throws, they work like a charm. same as a body lift, 3 inches and under, no problem...

  • ...but blocks are like putting your axle on stilts, 6-8 inches of blocks and you really are putting a lot of trust in something that can have very drastic results.

you can wrap an axle or snap stuff on the trail and not realize it until you hit 50 on the highway home...

not only that, but the more block lift, the less spring. and the less spring, the less flex.

try to shackle flip if you can. there are write ups on this all over the web!

  • if you have the resources, use 80's ford rear shackle brackets, they are a PERFECT fit for the 1/2 ton dodge spring packs!!! oh yeah, measure ahead and watch your drift angle

you will really have fun with the build,

  • Im in love with this truck.

  • Thank you very much, me too!!

  • Hey I have a 2002 dodge ram with the 5.9 and am wanting to lift it. You have an advice, I'm thinking of a leveling kit and a 3 inch body. Anyway your truck is sweet, and any info would be worth having..Thanks

  • the 2002 was the generation after mine. lift kits would be different than what i know about.

    thanks alot!

i don't know anything about leveling kits, i don't prefer to do "level" types of trails, haha

    good luck!!

  • dodges are beasts

  • realy nice truck, i want to put a 5.5 lift in my 2001 dodge 2500. it fits 35s stock, so i think it will fit 39-40s with the lift. maybe do a body lift to.

  • the frame of the 3/4 ton will change the altogether lift slightly but not enough to fit 39's with flex.

if you don't do the body lift you will have to chop fenders. that is where my truck is at right now.

  • thats sick

  • thanks

  • i made that hole on monday with my 94 ram. still open diff'd for about one more week. have 35" km2s

  • nice, yeah that was an awesome run!!!

very good change of pace from all this fairbanks stuff

  • good to see another dodge offroadin here in ak. r u running any kinda lockers?

  • auto in the 9.25

awaiting school to finish front axle....

decided not to dump anymore money into my rig until i graduate....

    lame i know

  • would 39.5/13.50/20's iroks

    fit on 20x10 rims????

  • i guess, but you might be losing your beads,...

if you get beadlocks then you could have a severe sidewall climb hahaha

  • if you are building a mallcrawler though, then it doesn't really matter...

  • i love that, makes me love all dodges even more.. i love haveing the lift the tires and the power to go where ever i want. what size r those tires and ur lift

  • Fabtech 5.5" spring, control arms, add-a-leaf, 3" body lift

shackle flip, 4.10 gears, factory axles :(

    iroq 39.5/13.50/15's

  • nice. yea ive got a 6inch lift skyjackers suspention, 37 inch interco tires m/t, but many more goodies just not for the clearance but to get me out of some the shit i get into

  • this is an off topic question, but how do you like it in alaska? i am from west virginia, but the company that i work for wants me to transfer to either alaska or colorado. i would rather go to alaska, do you think that its a good place to live? thanks.

  • man, i am from pittsburgh originally, i came up here through the army. i LOVE it up here. if you are in the interior like me, then you will get to see temps of 40, 50, 60 below, and maybe even colder.

if you can deal with that... then it WILL be worth it! now the colorodo guys up here always have good stories about life in colorodo, but they say that they would never go back.

  • living in alaska can be a cut-throat thing. life is not cheap, winter is not short, and neither is the drive to just about anywhere not in town. it's easy to get hooked on the sauce, with the winters being so long. and your summers will go quick. but this is the only place in the world where you can catch, the biggest fish, the biggest cow, the biggest bear, the biggest game, the biggest trails, the biggest and the best

    oh, and 2 more words...

    permanant dividend

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! cold weather doesn't bother me so i will probably be looking for a place up there. thanks again!!!!! :)

  • awesome!! if you get anywhere near fairbanks and want to go trailrun/fishing/hunting whatever, or just have questions about anything

look me up! i may or may not have an answer, but i have a lot of people up here with a wealth of knowledge!!

  • i will def. keep you on mind. :)

  • wait! i take that back!...your tires is little bit bigger then mine!

  • hey! it was rainning last week!...did you go back in wasilla and go mudding again?.....weo, you should take meeh there and test out my ram...lol...

  • no last week i was up in the rainbow mountains, trying to get to the canwell glacier, made it about 1/2 mi. from the glacier itself and the washout was just too deep.

so we took a second trail off to the north and kept along the ridgeline. amazing sights!!!

great to see other alaskans in that area though!!! hahaha, hell yeah, what have you done to your truck? or plan to do?

  • i got a 97 ram 150 sport. got lifted and have a same tires as your truck!...i just got 'em out today!..lol...

  • sweet! by then i'm done with mine

  • thanks a lot!

i was hoping to get some more video this year but the videos that i did get are just worthless. summer is over here, and the snow usually comes in sept.

i am going to try to get an axle swap done this winter, maybe, maybe not.

once i graduate, hopefully i can start posting some better videos...

thanks for the comments and ratings

  • oh, one more thing...

what is the country italy shaped like?

    BOOT!

  • HAHAHA

too long db, did not listen

let me know when you grow a pair

better yet, don't let me know, cause i really don't care

"i'm dustin and i'm 18 and i'm a real offroader, i put pokemon stickers on my big wheel. i call people fags cause my sister is the only poon i get, i can't wait to grow up and build a mall crawler of my own. my daddy's truck my daddy my buddy's truck my butbuddy"

    LOL

    grow up kid

  • wow, thanks dustin.

it shows a lot of experience when you say "fag" a whole bunch...

i'm always very impressed by that. you must be a REAL offroader. i should watch what i say to you...

  • i got a 1998 dodge ram. Now i went through some water cause the road flooded. My check engine light came on checkd it out. found out it was my O2 sencer neighbor is a mechanic he called it and i felt retarded...how can i fix this? Seeing how its a 4x4 truck you think i wouldnt have this problem ya know? Anyway i can fix this problem? Thanks, Awesome vid

  • during this video, the wires to my o2 sensor were actually exposed and all frayed.

water itself is not such a great conductor, but what is IN the water that can short it or give a bad signal...

i don't know why that would have happened to you, unless your o2 sensor was going and the water just gave it that extra kick.

i guess if you flooded your exhaust (past the muffler) maybe that could have messed up your o2 sens.

    how to fix?

always keep on the gas when on water to keep your exhaust open

  • also,...

you could electrical tape the crap out of it for some weather proofing, but remember, that part get ridiculous hot!

i don't know, i've never had too many problems with the o2 sensor, (other than, finding a decent way to remove it without slicing my hand open on the crap factory cat shroud) haha

let me know how it went

  • so you basically have 5.5" of lift? any bodylift?

  • 3" body lift yes.

    sorry, it was late haha

  • once i get through school i am gonna try to get some decent camera gear and put more videos up

maybe even try to do episodes with other clubs, trails, trucks, people that wheel!

at least more than me at the moment haha

  • what kind of lift do you have? how much lift?

  • i put it in the description, probably should have done that last year, haha
