Having some right now! As your sweet little granddaughter said in the tamarind chutney video, "YUM YUM YUM YUM!" I'm eating these chola tikki with mango chutney. SO good! Thank you, Manjula!
I can't wait to go home and try this recipe! Very nice video, easily understood and I like how the recipe ingredients is setup before cooking. I never cooked Indian Vegetarian food before, and this will be my start. Thank you very much for sharing this video presentation.
thank you so much they are great !!! i didnt had no ginger but they were really good. next itme il try it with ginger !!! thank you for teaching me how to cook this paties!
I'm so enjoying your recipes Manjula I hope you don't mind if I tell you that teflon is extremely dangerous to the health , I don't have it at home and its not just pots and pans but ironing board covers etc I only use stainless steel, glass and cast iron in my kitchen Anyway thank you again you are a very expert cook I visit your kitchen almost daily
I know what I'm having for dinner! OMG! I wonder if people realize that this recipe created a complete source of protein! Beans+Potatoes=vegan protein power.
Great video! Easy to follow and I feel inspired to try some Indian cooking! It looks so easy and these are ingredients I already keep in my kitchen. Cheers!
Very inexpensive great. We have two days in a week where we ought to spend less than 1,50$ for a meal. Your meal just fits great. Very welcome. Thanks. I will surprise my girlfriend with this.
I Made these as an appetizer last night. They were delicious and not that difficult to make. Thank you. I have enjoyed all your recipes, especially the aloo gobi.
Just made these for dinner. Tasted really great! I added a bit of tumeric for color and a bit of garam masala spice. I loved them with the yogurt and chutney, Yummm
I just made these - tasted lovely - did not have green chilli so used chopped sweet red chilli, and did not have fresh ginger so used teaspoon ground ginger. I think I made the patties too big as they broke up a little bit. Next time will make smaller patties and use more oil for frying.
I tried your Chola Tikki, it turned out great, I also tried another method using the same recipe, I took the large reed end of fresh leeks and stuffed the chola tikki mixture into the leeks I then baked them in the oven, we ate 14 between 4 of us and a friend dropped by and finished off the remaining two, both ways were so delicious. Thank you for the video.
I will soon become vegetarian and this recipe along with others from Manjula are wonderful and I plan to try them very soon! This is one of the best to date!
I have a question, though. Why didn't you coat them with bread crumb crust or anything like that? I mean, would the tikkis be stable w/o this step? Please help.
Oh They Turned out Absolutely Great ..Thanks!! I am going to try some other ones too.I did your couple more recipes for gujia & mixed vegetable Qourma & they were Awesome ..Thanks once again & plz do keep us update with such back Home recipes which we miss here in States..
I am trying this recipe out right now. They are in the pan and seem to separate when I flip them. :( I followed the recipe precisely and was wondering what could cause this? I tasted the broken ones and it is excellent. So now I just need to know how to make them properly because I really enjoy them. Help!
Tempting indeed, looks very good... I've always wanted to try Indian food (and being vegetarian I wasn't sure what to expect) but this is great and you make it simple enough for even me to cook! Thanks so much! I'm going to try it soon.
Manjula you rock, these are great videos, easy to follow and make me feel like i am an expert. I am a new vegetarian and I love all Asian cuisines, particularly No/So Indian. Are you using peanut oil or other oil, could you use olive oil?
Yes. Excellent. Thank you so much for posting such valuable recipes. You make it seem so easy and such delightful veggie main dishes that i can make at home.
We loved it. Being rather fumble fingered, we added a beaten egg the second time to act as a binder. This helped keep the tikki together and made them easier to flip.
Auntie, We appreciate you and all your wonderful recipes ,each one has turned out great, for many of us your a little piece of heaven...right here on earth...I am still waiting for that Coconut chutney recipe, which I know is going to be amazing, also do you have Rajma recipe? Thank you for your time and reply.
