Heard this song today on the throw back lunchtime show on 95,3 "the range". Wow been a while..........Great to hear again and certainly find here. Thanks flashbell for posting.
Got to see Gary Stewart once live at the Bluebonnet Palace in San Antonio. He even signed my cowboy hat that I still have. Something about seeing him live just let you know he had lived it rough, he sang what he lived...gone way too soon by his own hand. We miss you Gary!
I consider myself lucky to have seen him play one more time before he left us. I beleive it was around Thanksgiving in 03 in Abilene, Tx, at the old Ponderosa. We would all go seee him at the Stagecoach in Stamford, Tx, he could sing with the best of them, he was among the Best to the likes of Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Red Steagall, Earl Thomas Conley, Gone but not Forgotten...
This is a true song for many, including myself in the past. I'll bet the lyrics of this song touch many a soul, man or woman. One of the best country songs ever written about real people, in my opinion.
Ms Taylor Swift and Mr Zack Brown. This is why you' re not country. No way, no how. Mr Stewart was and still is. You two are just pawns of the new Nashville market. Enjoy it while you can. It will end. As soon as one of your songs doesn' t chart. So long. Too sad, so sorry, good bye. Life goes on. But your music will not endure. The money men made your career. Not really the fans.
@starr522 I mean I love Taylor Swift, but thats mostly cus I think shes hot. But I agree this old country is 10x better then the stuff today, and Gary Stewart was born like 20 miles from me so, I got to like him haha
This is one best songs for a DJ to play when closing down on a Friday or Saturday night. So for all you C&W DJ's at the honk-tonks - play it ...........PULEZ!!!!!!!
One of the best boot scootin songs ever!!! I saw Gary in concert several times and loved everyone of them. There will never ever be another one like him. He was his own man......Miss Ya Man
Gary had such a haunting voice. id not get the praise he deserved while he lived. That' s the way music is. Shame on it for that. Mr Stewart, I was a fan 25 years ago and I am today. Thank you for your gift to me. Memories.
the 5 dis like thay must be happy.

Gary had such a haunting voice. id not get the praise he deserved while he lived. That' s the way music is. Shame on it for that. Mr Stewart, I was a fan 25 years ago and I am today. Thank you for your gift to me. Memories.

@starr522 blame it on nashville.. nashville music people and country music radio are evil.... Gary is one of the best..
