  • very good song, I've been a fan for many years. God bless him. I remember him coming on stage with a Coors in his hand and had one there till the end of his concert. A true drinkin man. Stony is doing it now and it 's just not the same. However, he is probably the only one who can pull it off.

  • Lots of memories when listening to Gary Stewart. Saw him in Austin Texas years ago at the Siver Dollar. He came out in a purple suit and hat I thought what the heck, then he started singing and that was all it took to become a huge fan. Hope he is at peace now. RIP Gary.

  • All I can say is ....Simply the best HonKy Tonk singer ever ...Ronnie Dunn comes close at times ...matter of fact I would love to hear him do this ...Stoney LaRue is cool for singing this song ..but no one makes you feel it like Gary ....

Anyone who chooses to ignore our channel policy will be nuked (blocked) from our channel. Just don’t do it!

  • @flashbell If by derogatory remarks, you are saying no one can disagree with anyone, s view point. Well, I guess you just better block 98 % of the people from your dictorial channel.

  • @flashbell Shut up

  • @SullyNH , Only warning..you will be blocked!

  • @flashbell Weed out this, you say you are so holy and so almighty, wanting to spread the word of what ever, I can't believe that you would even post a song about a drunkard. You want to keep this channel clean then stop censoring it! Who are you the FCC, government control, cool ban me So, I have a right to say anything that I want and you blocking that right allows more and more control on what can be said. Good don't come a knocking when you are dragged into the streets begging for rights

  • @SullyNH , We're not censoring. We just dont allow our channel policy to be violated. This commeny you made is perfectly fine.

  • @SullyNH you need to chill out dude. It's people like you that cause the rest to lose their rights; you have no respect or regard for anybody but you damn self. That's all he's asking for his respect on his page. You think somebody owes you something. If youtube was against blocking people from your channel, then they wouldn't allow it, so he does have the authority to block you and he should because you can't just appreciate the music, or ignore it. RELAX DUDE.

    Horrible song, by the way.

  • @theBLACKRENAISSANCE , Thank you!

  • @flashbell the song isn't horrible, its not his best, but I just did that to enforce my point, that yo can disagree respectfully.

  • @flashbell

hi I was flagged for iThink, Smoking in my video "gone"/ I am very sorry for any offense i have done. I must admit and this to utube, I'm promising it won't happen again. Thank u for ur tolerance of my ignorence to ur policies. I have and will continue to improve my music.

this site is a gift to a person like me. Thank u utube again, Robert Barber/oicu812238...bye

  • i love his music and he is the best always going to be

  • My Lord! What a great song...the emotion it packs, the expression of loneliness is amplified in this memorable and enduring song by Mr. Stewart. I cannot even begin to understand how these newbiess who say they are "new country" can have the bravado to say that. But time will tell, and the end result is that their music will not endure, nor will they ever be as dear to our hearts as these true counrty classics.

  • Hang in there, Tex. my best friend of many years beat the bottle and you can too. The best way to honor your lost loved one is to live a full life in his memory. You CAN do it!!!!

  • gary sang from the heart....and touched ours as no other ever has...Rest in Peace,

Mr. Stewart...thanks for sharing you talent and heart.

  • why aren't they music like this anymore?

their isn't anything i can relate to in today's country

this is the stuff i was raised on the only country with meaning.

  • This is my favorite song...Thank-you Gary Stewart + the boys !!!

  • gary stewart he could sing yankee doodle and still get a standing O

  • such a great statement starr522

  • If that ain't country I'll kiss your ass! Gary Stewart man what can I say,he had the voice of a true honky tonk angel!

  • Got to see Gary Stewart once live at the Bluebonnet Palace in San Antonio. He even signed my cowboy hat that I still have. Something about seeing him live just let you know he had lived it rough, he sang what he lived...gone way too soon by his own hand. We miss you Gary!

  • love this song. depressing at times though. need an upbeat song afterwards.

  • thanx bud

  • the man touched the very depths of your soul he is greatly missed by many

  • THIS SONG SHOULD BE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM FOR FOR MIDDLE AGED SINGLE PEOPLE. tHANKS GARY FOR ALL YOUR SONGS.

  • @greg8or Amen brother.

  • I can put back some cold lonestars while I listen this song.... rest in peace

  • had the great privilage to see gary up close and personal when his cousin married my cousin and he played at the reception, i miss him and his music,

  • I consider myself lucky to have seen him play one more time before he left us. I beleive it was around Thanksgiving in 03 in Abilene, Tx, at the old Ponderosa. We would all go seee him at the Stagecoach in Stamford, Tx, he could sing with the best of them, he was among the Best to the likes of Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, Red Steagall, Earl Thomas Conley, Gone but not Forgotten...

  • So sad about how it all ended for him. Truly a great singer and an awesome song!

  • i love this song one of my favorites

  • This is a true song for many, including myself in the past. I'll bet the lyrics of this song touch many a soul, man or woman. One of the best country songs ever written about real people, in my opinion.

  • This has to be the best last call song ever!

  • @jozuha68 I have to agree with you about this being the best last call song ever...without a doubt!

  • @jozuha68 your right about that.

  • I TOTALLY agree with you truby0001!!!!

  • Ms Taylor Swift and Mr Zack Brown. This is why you' re not country. No way, no how. Mr Stewart was and still is. You two are just pawns of the new Nashville market. Enjoy it while you can. It will end. As soon as one of your songs doesn' t chart. So long. Too sad, so sorry, good bye. Life goes on. But your music will not endure. The money men made your career. Not really the fans.

  • @starr522 , Well said with such few words!

  • @flashbell

    DAMN STRAIGHT!!!

  • @starr522 agreed. 100 %. miss gary stewart so much.

  • @starr522 I mean I love Taylor Swift, but thats mostly cus I think shes hot. But I agree this old country is 10x better then the stuff today, and Gary Stewart was born like 20 miles from me so, I got to like him haha

  • @stawell saidrr522

  • this brings back so many memories, and i get really drunk when i hear this song. and slow grind by myself

  • He was just as good or better than Hank Sr. when it came to beer drinking songs.

  • this man was awesome, wish I could have seen him in concert. He sang with such raw emotion and feeling. RIP

  • This is one best songs for a DJ to play when closing down on a Friday or Saturday night. So for all you C&W DJ's at the honk-tonks - play it ...........PULEZ!!!!!!!

  • One of the best boot scootin songs ever!!! I saw Gary in concert several times and loved everyone of them. There will never ever be another one like him. He was his own man......Miss Ya Man

  • Gary had such a haunting voice. id not get the praise he deserved while he lived. That' s the way music is. Shame on it for that. Mr Stewart, I was a fan 25 years ago and I am today. Thank you for your gift to me. Memories.

  • @starr522 blame it on nashville.. nashville music people and country music radio are evil.... Gary is one of the best..
