Edwards knows how to accept getting poked fun at. He gets how important the Internet and YouTube in particular are becoming in advancing people's abilities to share ideas as they should in a democracy. This guy is a class act - I don't care HOW long he combs his hair, I care about how his mind and heart are in the right place on so many critical issues.
Supporters, advocates, acolytes... Anything but "fans." That has a strange connotation. The only people who refer to their supporters as "fans" are music artists, actors and actresses, and book authors.
ngennoise - Edwards wrote the Iraq War Resolution and voted for it. Edwards was on the intelligence committee and say the CIA reports - he knew there were no WMD but lied about it because he thought he would get re-elected.
Edwards is a proven liar and there is no reason to trust him when he says he "doesn't like the war". Sniff.
Norton, Interesting... How is it you have access to CIA reports? Please provide a link or some kind of confimation to your claims.
Also, how is it you know what he was thinking? Did you speak with him or see an interview where he said that he thought it would get him re-elected, please explain in more detail.
What a phony! You realize that he missed over 75% of votes during his brief tour in the U.S. Senate? Him attempting to be President of the United States is ridiculous.
Published: June 10, 2007The Poverty Platform (Page 9 of 9)
If Edwards isn't successful, then Democrats will most likely conclude, once again, that poverty is a losing issue. It took 40 years after Robert Kennedy's death for another establishment Democrat to summon the courage to build a campaign around economic injustice. If Edwards should win the nomination but lose the White House, it might well be another 40 years before anyone tries again.
I'm guessing that you're referring to the article by that name at TruthOut. Edwards, in fact, doesn't seem to address the issue at all, speaking of programs to pay people the minimum wage in exchange for staying off drugs, seemingly obvious to the fact that in many cases somebody is unemployed because his job went away and there are far fewer jobs than applicants, not because of substance abuse. Liberals, on the whole, don't seem to get that any more than Conservatives do.
As for the author thinking that the citation of a single study proves anything, eliminating all need to look into how the study was done, I remain eternally amazed that anybody could believe that.
I'd be a lot less amazed if I were not in a position to know how few students are willing to sign up for Introductory Statistics courses when they don't have to do so.
The article was originally printed in the NYT, and TruthOut re-published it. This is just one article that points out that Edwards is the only candidate that is talking about the fact that we have a poverty problem in America. And, that he is the first major presidential candidate since Robert Kennedy to make fighting poverty the corner stone of his candidacy.
DavidGriffen - Are you serious? Do you remember the "reality check" ad spots that Clinton ran, back during the early 1990s? Don't believe everything you read, especially when it is about something so recent as to be easily remembered.
I was a volunteer for Clinton in both his runs for president, fighting poverty was never the focus of the campaign, never. Remember, "It's the economy stupid". Or is that too recent for you.
Also, while I'm on a roll, I don't have to depend on old or new articles much. I have followed and volunteered in elections from Robert Kennedy on. Yes, I'm that old. I think I would recall hearing a major candidate going on about poverty.
He's lying again, what else is he supposed to say? No doubt this video nailed him in a way he did not want and he can't do a fucken thing about it ..Thank you youtube.
The expression on his face when the aide spritzes him with hairspray is exactly how I feel at the hair salon--"What I have to do to look good..." I don't know if he's my candidate or not, but if I were getting ready for a public presentation, I'd make sure my hair looked good, too. Plus he's got a cowlick, and I know how that is. Let's focus on moving our country forward.
Now a lot of ppl i knew ten years ago who worked in mills are working in retail because there are no industrial jobs hardly. Witch is sad considering the skill of the workers that lost there job so the CEO of the company could cut cost to maxiumize profit. Disgusting ethics at best down right evil otherwise.
p.s.s Now up to eight years ago there where maybe twelve to fifteen textile plants. Employing thousands in Rutherford County, NC. With in a span of 2 years around 2002 there were maybe two to four. Some of you might not understand that working a textile plant is good money.
Listen John Edwards got a 400 dollar hair cut. So he paid for it with his own money. HIS OWN MONEY HIS OWN MONEY HIS OWN MONEY.
I'll Vote for him now. His parents worked in a mill, My parents and grandparents worked in mills. He went from poor to rich and he didn't forget what its like to not have money.
P.S. Ever tried running for president with a ten dollar hair cut you would prolly lose.
This "I feel pretty" video is fabulous! I am glad that I have finally seen what all the hair hoola is about. I had a great outloud laugh!! The 2008 presidential candidate, John Edwards just became a very real person. Thanks!
I think he is different, not at all like the current idiot running this country. . . running it into the ground, I hope he gets to show us what he can do! Glad to hear that he cares how he looks to us all. Keep the videos coming
Figures anything that mentions youboob gets a prominent place here! What will he think of this site 6 months into office, if he gets there, when everything with JE's name is a joke or an attack?
Please note: John Edwards came from a POOR working class family (his father was a mill worker and his mother a postal worker) and he made his fortune representing individuals AGAINST CORPORATIONS. Every other candidate comes from money. Just a little reminder from a member of the lower class.
psh. youtube rocks. even edwards knows. oh, and its really sad caz he withdrew from the election caz his wife was diagnosed with breat cancer. so say hello to hilary *sigh*
More presidential candidates should post a video on You Tube stating where they stand on major issues concerning the American people.
You Tube should extend an invitation to all the presidential candidates to post a video. One advantage I can come up with is it allows a viewer of you tube to set their own time and not one that is dictated by others as to when and where they'll appear or will be at any given location.
Its dumbasses like you that vote idiots into office... intelligent people vote for the best person to run the country period people that that just vote for a party are equally as stupid... My vote as of now is going for Dennis Kucinich after hours and hours of research.
you call others dumbasses but who are you going to vote for once Dennis loses the nomination, excuse me, I mean every single primary? what if yours was the one vote that enabled Hillary to win as oppose to Obama or Edwards?
Its dumb asses like you that vote idiots into office... intelligent people vote for the best person to run the country period people that that just vote for a party are equally as stupid... My vote as of now is going for Dennis Kucinich after hours and hours of research.
I like John Edwards, but what wouldn't I give to see either a woman or a black man president. Sorry, can't help it. Tired of good-looking white guys...
Current events have and will continue to place leaders at the will of the people, many have fallen from grace, many more will, closed doors are opening, walls will continue to come down. Fear, violence and abuse are to be the final victims of their own foreseen destiny, Truth can no longer be suppressed, and Peace shall be directed toward all. Dictators require fear to maintain power, when the people Know*Truth there is No*Fear. We*Are standing at the portal to The Age of Compassion.
I voted for John Edwards last time at the polls. But, If Mr. Dull who should have been President before Mr. Ding-aling runs again, Gore has got my vote.
yeah, this video is good. his pushing off the BS has really pushed up my opinion of him in my book. finally! more than one DECENT democratic candidate!
lol traveling 18 hours a day {this isnt an exageration is it } I mean we all know he needs a good 8-10 hours on his hair alone a day. Why is it everytime i see johnny i hear the my pretty pony song.
"Why is it everytime i see johnny i hear the my pretty pony song"
Probably for the same reason you see Bush as a string leader when he has maintained a hands-off policy towards Osama Bin Laden: Because your brain is as malleable as dog crap - just like all mindless twits who support Republicans
