  • hello,i would really love to press my loose shadows....i have the Ez press already...please does it work for NYX pigment too....please anyone help

  • Now for my question can you do thus to press lose face powder, I have a powder U love but it's a pain to use.

  • @Grievousig101: Yes, this applies to any type of makeup thats loose, if you want to press it.

  • @Ana88Sul it's fine I'm new to some things in makeup also... Like today I asked what ftc means. I'm new to MAC products only own 6 in all now (started late last month), but I've loved makeup at like Sephora and stuff. Anyways to answer your ?. The reason why you would press a pigment is because it's just convient to have a pan of it pressed. I have a lose shadow and it's hard to not get too much on the brush and prevent fallout, so a pressed one is easier to use. Although lose ones are great to

  • i'm kinda new to make up so sorry for the stupid question but why would I want to press loose shadow?what's wrong with just using it in its loose form?

  • after the shadows dry does it works well like does the shadow still have the same color payoff?

  • can i use this method for the ELF loose mineral eyeshadows? can this method also be used for shimmery eyeshadows too?

  • Can you only get Costal Sense products from their website, or is there a drugstore or pharmacy that sells it?

  • As far as i know you can only get coastal scents from their website, but they're pretty cheap, and the ship SUPER fast.

  • @xFreeFirex from coastal scents only!

  • I wonder if adding a liquid to the shadow changes its color?

  • No the pressing liquid doesnt change the color of the makeup.

  • Can you do the same process for the coastalscents micas, i have bunch of them , and i was wondering if you can press them the same as the regular shadows they have.

  • Wow, this was so helpful. Thanks!!

  • do u have to use alcohol

  • will this work with jesse's girl eyedusts???? or can i use the alcohol???? plz let me know??

  • U can use EZ Prez or just mix 1 part glycerin to 3 parts water... (= Glycerin can be 2-5 dollars

  • thank u for ur reply...

  • you will looses less product if you wet the part of tissue touching the pigment.

  • what exactly is the difference in procedure when doing it to pigments?

  • Theres a few reason's why.

maybe you dont like using loose makeup cause of the fallout

and when traveling, it's easier to take a palette with pressed shadows

  • It just turns the loose eyeshadow into a solid/pressed one.

  • i used alcahol with my mineral shadows to press them and they work fine

  • What percentage? 70 or 99%?

  • I've heard someone say at least 70% but the more the better so I use 95%

  • can you use this method with the pure luxe minerals?

  • OMG! i knew i could count on u for this!! thank u sooo much!!!

  • that eyeshadow pressed has the quater face on it lmao !

i like this tutorial thanks leesha

  • how do you get the pan?

  • how long does it take for the pressed shadows to dry

  • are the eye shadows as pigmented when you press them yourself as they were before? do they stil work the same?

  • Can you only use that on coastal scents make up?

  • They'll be more travel-friendly, compared to a loose powder, which can make a mess. If you have MAC palettes you can also press them and store it in the palette. :)

  • hello! I just found you and love your vids. I have seen a vid about how to make a solid shadow out of minerals using small amounts of alcohol only and letting it dry. can you use this for pressing mineral foundtaion????? Any ideas there??

  • O.o Wow I think I learned something new. Mucho Gracias

  • what is that thing that was moving around near her? :-O it looked like a mouse or something..

  • if you mean the thing moving around on the right, it's just her reflection on the makeup mirror

  • lol, just a reflection

  • It's the reflection of her hand on the chrome of the mirror.

  • oh!! hahhahahah

  • lol i think it was hand reflection on the mirror stand

  • :/ ahh sooo dirty..

  • Thanks so much!

I can't wait to press my Medusa's makeup pigments!

For the life of me, I do not work well with loose powders!

I hardly get to use them!!!

  • I just recieved a palette and i cannot take out the pans (some shadows were crushed up), could I do this using water and it still works the same?..I sure hope so I don't want to let go of my creamated eyeshadows lol

  • ou my good i don't know how powder and this green change, what ever :D but you good teacher becouse i do this and that working

  • do you get the same color payoff when you press your shadows?

  • I NEED HELP! Please. I'm trying to press my mica from TKB Trading using the pressing medium. I watched your video, the video on coastal scents, and Enkores video and my shadows are not coming out right. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried using more liquid and I've tried using less. I can't even explain how they're coming out. Can you help?

  • can you do this with mineral powder for your face?

  • is mineral makeup the same as all natural makeup? might sound dumb but idk. lol

  • could you use just the samples? or is that not enough?

  • Awesome tutorial! thank you!

  • very cool :]

  • im confused what is she making?

  • she's pressing mineral pigments into a solid eyeshadow.

  • But why?

  • solid shadows are easier to manuever than loose pigments...that's really the only reason i've ever pressed my pigments.

  • hey,this may be a stupid q but..

does anyone know if you use this method how long the shadows will last? As does the pressing medium have preservative in it, i don't go throught my shadows that fast...

  • Would wax paper be better to use instead of tissue paper to press it down?

  • yes and no.:) no; because the tissue drains the liquid, and yes; because wax paper does not waste the shadow

  • hey leesha

you prbably wont be able to read this but still..

i got a baby cat yesterday and i dont know how to care for it ,, it keeps going meow for dozens of minutes.. is it just because its a baby ??cuz my sis had a cat before for a couple of week and it was like 1 yesr old but it never really did meow ..:(

i dont know what to do .. and sometimes it just becomes crazy like .. you know ??

could you pleaseeeee make a video concerning cats?especially baby ones?

IT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME!:D

  • lol.

the kitten is probably hungry, wanting attention or may need the toiet :)

  • Idont think so .. cuz she goes to her litterbox whenever she needs to and she its whenever cuz it is for her and whenever i want to pet her she walks away to go play with somethingg..shes a lil werid :s

  • If she doesn't sound distressed, she's probably just a meow-ey kitty! :D I've known a few cats that just love to meow for no reason. She also might just want more attention, so when she starts meowing, just love her up a little, play with her, maybe give her a treat to calm her down. She'll probably grow out of it.

Hope that was helpful! (I'm kind of a cat-lover, myself. :D)

  • GOOGLE

  • wrong video.

  • what shadows are better to get, heavenly naturals or CUBerry?

  • gee wilikerz thanx!!!! lol xD

  • hey. can you do a eye make-up video inspired by amy lee of evanescence. can you make it of her make up from lithium?

  • Panacea81 has a great vid of her makeup in Lithium - checj it out.

  • Can you use Johnsons Baby Oil for this?

  • cool!

  • Is this technique only specific to mineral eye shadows or would the same idea work with some of my MAC pigments?

  • if you really want to know, watch the kajillion videos on youtube about pigment pressing. check enkore for more information

  • just use plain alcohol for mac pigments. they don't need this binder.

  • Are you sure on the color you used it looks more like vintage from costalscents.

  • I was watching when this video was posted! <3333

    You're just so amazing! <3

  • Cool! Could you use wax paper instead of tissue? That way it wouldn't stick to the tissue? Or is there a reason to use tissue? Thanks!

  • the tissue helps soak up the extra liquid, thats how it gets to be pressed

  • thats cool! ive never seen that before

    :]

  • your hair is pink again???

  • it's red. she dyed it

  • How about the texture of the pressed e/s?

I tried some with that pressing medium but they came out too creamy...

  • i miss buyin make up =( i've been broke for months T_T

  • Very helpful, Thanks for this. Gonna try it when I buy the stuff.

  • Wow. Thanks for making this video. I placed an order for the 15 empty pans palette and a bottle of EZ press (among other things) on the 19th, so now when I get them in the mail I can get right to it! :)

  • how long does it take for the shadow to dry anybody know?

  • It depends on how much liquid you use. More liquid = longer drying time. I would just let it dry overnight.

  • Thanks so much for this. I have done pigment pressing and they rocked BUT I have noticed that mineral pressing did not come out the same.

    Thanks :)

  • wow you lose so much eyeshadow by doing that :S id rather just use normal shadow

  • Is this an older video or is your hair different? Because I really like the red =D.

  • You didn't say what consistency is best! Coastal Scents has a video saying the consistency of wet sand, but now you're probably going to get 24345345346 comments asking about it.

  • i have a question, i want a big eyeshadow pallete like the big black ones u have, do they sell them on the web site or what do i have to do because i want to put all my M.A.C shadows in one big pallete instead of keeping them in their individual casing

  • They sell the MAC palettes at MAC pro stores and some free standing stores.

You can't buy palettes off of the site though. ):

Also, you can find them on Ebay, but they are typically overpriced there.

  • how much do they cost at the mac stores?

  • your videos are so inspiring thats why i included you in my dancing dame look playlist

  • I totally appreciate this video. It's well narrated and very understandable, so much thanks!

Could you also do a video on how to do a make up chart on M.A.C face chart? I don't understand how to create looks on that. Do you actually use make up on that?

  • hmmmm i suppose i could. it just takes practice. yeah you use makeup and brushes :)

  • It would be great if you could. I just need to see that done for a couple of times so I can do it myself. I personally think those charts are really helpful. So thanks in advance if you will! <3

  • what if im broke and don't have a quarter....lol im kidding...thanks for the video, helped a lot

  • terrific tutorial!

I was hoping to see a tutorial with the ez prez cause there arent many around and I ordered them and was weary about using it because I was worried that the shadow would turn out oily lol.

how did the trip with the babyyak go? did she settle in well with the other cat? I hope hes not being a bully lol

  • she was perfect! i couldnt believe how well she was on the plane. i had to keep goign to pet her to make sure she was still with us, she was so quiet and good. shes good buddies with dameon now, so all is well :) thanks for asking!

  • haha lucky!! my cat is a pain in the ass to move in a car let alone in a plane haha!

yay they are friends! It probly helps they are around the same age cause my cats are a few years apart and it didn't work out quite so well lol, babyyak amd dameon video!! yay!

  • where can i get the pans again?

  • link in the sidebarrrrrrrr

  • could you use the ez sence stuff on pigments? my friend told me to use eye drops, so this would be great for the both of us if you could use it on pigments

  • hey! i was wondering what is the official MAC cosmetics sight. When I googled it- two separate sites came up and I don't know which one it is!

    Thanks.

  • maccosmeticsdotcom

  • is the other one a fake? that's totally weird.

    thanks so much!

  • i have to do this personal project thing for my school and i went on coastal scents and totalllllly saw that - and since my project is like making my own make up i'll think i'll order it - thanks for showing me!!

  • I have the same hat as you :D

  • Awesome! This is very helpful! Maybe I'll try that one day with loose pigments.

  • ik its kinda weired

but could you do this with mineral foundation makeup??

    i have an empty compact?

  • i did this using the ezpress with all of my loose pigment shadows. some of them took forever to dry but they all finally did. it's so much more convenient. you don't need this product to repress broken shadows because they already have a binder in them. same for mac pigments. but the ez press is great for other loose mineral shadows because without the binder they will crumble again.

  • Hello :) Ok, I know this may be dumb questions but hopefully someone will answer me. I usually get rude comments back instead of answers :( Why do you press these pigments and mineral shadows when they are sold loose? Does this process not change the color? Why do the make up companies not sell them this way since so many people are going through all the trouble to pressing them? I only ask because there are so many tutorials for this process.

  • pigments can be a bitch to wear :)

there is a lot of fall out and they can be messy.

pressing them may make the product go further and pressed pigments/eye shadows are easier to apply for most people and they are much cleaner.

ooh and if you spill or tip a pressed powder it won't go everywhere. which is great since i'm a total clutz!

  • i think most people press them because loose can be messy and its easier to apply when they're pressed :) not sure why companies sell them loose, but if you think of mac, you get a whole lot more loose powder in their pigments than you do in their shadows, so maybe they do it that way because its easier for them not to press it? not sure heh

  • YOu know thats a really good question!!! I want to presss my pigments because it isn't as messy as loose powder and its more portable... the color stays the same...i have no clue why the companies don't sell them pressed.... maybe it costs more money or something.....

  • hi there, If you haven't worked w/ loose shadows, they're very messy and gets everywhere. Private label companies that ship products don't want to use already pressed shadows b/c 1) they're easy to break 2) one less step from the production 3) also can sell these gimmicks like the ' EZ prez' to consumers. So, it's all about adverting to what the consumer wants and cut production cost. Hope this help you!

  • cool

  • lmao when i first started watching this video..i thought u had a machine and all to do this..lol i dunno why. ha how dorky of me

  • LOL! Me too! Must have been the video snapshot that looked like that!

  • yay urs hairs pink again!

  • haha. i didnt even notice. :O

  • Very Helpful

  • this is very helpful... thanks...

hey, quick question... do you happen to know where jude rivera is? i just realized yesterday that three weeks ago she said she was going to make more vids and she hasnt... after hitting her head im worried about her.... i just know that you watch her too...

  • how much do you normally need? I have like 100+ of samples (not full 5g) from pureluxe & fyrinnae that are only samples and i'm scared I won't have enough to press them..and of course I don't want to waste them!!!

  • you look really pretty without all your makeup on. (you look pretty with it on too) :D

  • what else can you use to mix it?

can you use like contact lens solution?

  • awe you look cute without make up :D:D!!!

  • awesome thank you this was helpful i've been looking fr avid on this..:)

  • GREAT TUTORIAL! Thank you!

  • omg! you sound like whitney off of the Hills!!

haha!! thats a good thing too :)

  • hey. do you know any good eye shadows and stuff that are cheap? not something as expensive as mac but works really well?

  • NYX all the way

  • Cool! Thanks that has really helped. Does your sister have a youtube?

  • what's the difference between the mixing medium you used for pressing and rubbing alcohol?Enkore used alcohol to press his eyeshadows in one of his videos.

  • alcohol works for regular pigments, but not for mineral. if you use alcohol for pressing mineral eyeshadows, once it dries the second you touch it it will crumble back to powder.

  • listen to her i learned the hard way =)

  • ok! that's logic! thank you.

  • lol i found that out the hard way

  • I have some beautiful pigmented shadows that my mom used to sell, back in the 90's, and they're still good so I use them (they don't irritate my eyes are all) but its a bitch to work with. I don't know if they're mineralized or just loose powder/pigments, and my mom doesn't too. And they are about 5g. Do you think I sould try pressing them with alcohol?

  • I would experiment. If pressing with alcohol works, then it's more than likely not a mineral shadow. If it doesn't then it is.

However, I think mineral shadows are a fairly recent development, so if I were to guess just based on your comment, Isopropyl Alcohol should work.

  • So I sould try with a pigment I like the least, so it won't hurt me :p Is there a special alcohol or I can use 70% medical one thingy?

  • You can use that, but it takes longer to dry. Try to find the 91% because the drying time is less.

  • Well I don't mind it drying longer or less. I will first try pressing with a color I like least, and if that works, than wooh :) Thank btw :)

  • I can't believe how cheap stuff is on coastal scents. I really need to get some stuff from there! Great video! Love the hat!

  • i always love your video's :] Keep up the good work

    x

  • uuumm why don't you just buy the color instead of doing that...whats the difference between mineral, and ..non(?)

  • mineral is a lot better for your skin.. and because those colors arent avalible in pressed form.

  • you totally look like drew barrymore in this video!

  • Tnx,I've been searching for a good "how to" video on here and this really helped me! Tnx alot, tnx, tnx! :D

  • THANK YOUU (:

  • can you use the EZ PREZ on mac pigments or any other pigments besides mineral ones

  • You can use it on MAC, NYX, etc. pigments, but Isopropyl Alcohol should suffice. This is meant for mineral makeup because rubbing alcohol doesn't keep it all together, so you need an extra binding agent (like glycerin or something).

  • I really dont get this..lol

    I don't get pressing xD

  • awesome video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • xsarkage

    i actually think ur amazing

  • hahah last week i was trying to think of how i can make 3 weeks go by fast so the movie comes quicker. edward is a pretty man in that movie *looks at desktop background* haha :) :) :)

  • that's what i thought too!

  • holy crap this has only been on 16 minutes and already has 224 views crazy

  • Nice!

  • I've never seen this done. What's the point of it? Is it just to make a pigmetted shadow more manageable?

  • a lot of people have issues with loose pigments, because they are messier and harder to work with, more fall out, ect. also pressing them makes it easier to travel with. :)

  • do u like that book? lOol
