  • Unlv amoeba defence unstoppable

  • Hunt destrói

  • This was a great game unlve was our number 1 fave team then and this is still on tops tied at top with uconn wines for my fave games all tiem i loved how unlv blewout pukeduke in this game and i love u all takecare gounlv and uconn!

  • As much as I loved this team and as much as I love to see Duke lose it broke my heart to see UNLV beat up on Loyola Marymount that year.

  • Any tournament game, when Duke loses is great .

  • UNLV. A small school with big swagger. That's why the NCAA hated them.

  • coincidentally, Brent Musberger's last assignment on CBS Sports, Then He Would Move To ABC Sports later ESPN where he is Today

  • @Angelslover9 Dude was let go from CBS over a contract dispute. CBS didn't want to pay him.

  • Does anybody think this team could beat Butler or Uconn? Ha ha just kidding. It would have been 100-28.

  • That's funny stuff. I have this game on dvd and when I was watching the Butler-UConn game I couldn't help but laugh at the 2 best teams in the country tossing brick after brick and thinking what would happen if they played ANY tournament team 20 years ago, let alone this one, which beat a Duke team with Laettner, Hurley and Abdelnaby by 30. 100-28 might be generous.

  • I think its funny how espn classic will show all the other championahip games during march madness EXECPT this one. They'll show the 1991 game a thousand times but they'll never show this one........

  • The Bobby Knight Indiana team from 1976 with Quinn Buckner, Scott May and Kent Benson went undefeated in regular and post season...they won it all ..a Perfect Season

Put up UNLV 1990 against Indiana 1976....I would love to see that. Defense of Indiana would have shut down UNLV and limited them to under 70pts easily and no doubt IU would have won...that team was invinceable and in my mind still the best college basketball team of all time

UNLV from 1990 was good...but not the best

  • @MatrixFactoryGuy

UNLV from 1990 wouldn't even make my short list of best teams ever. That team did lose games to NM State and UC Santa Barbara in 1990.

  • @Cabbageboy316

UC Santa Barbara was a decent squad and played the best game of their lives. I remember staying up late to watch that game. Yes, '90 UNLV is easily top 3.

  • @Cabbageboy316

They were all in the Big West Conference. UNLV was 35-5 (19-2), New Mexico State was 26-5 (17-3),and UC Santa Barbara was 21-9 (13-6). All 3 of them made the NCAA Tournament that year. The UCSB Gauchos beat Houston (SouthWest Conf member, former power team, made 2 NCAA Championship in the 1980's) in Rnd 1 of the tounament. NM State Aggies ( a reular in the NCAA tournament in the 1990s and 2000s) lost to Loyola Marymount in Rnd 1 of the tourn, LMU Lions lost ot UNLV in the

  • @jkbezo1

Meant to say Huston made 2 National Championship games in the 1990s. 3 Final Fours that same decade.

  • @jkbezo1 LMU lost to UNLV in the Elite 8

  • Houston's run was in the 80's. Lost to NC State in the 1983 Championship game and lost to Georgetown the next year. Before that they lost to eventual national champs North Carolina in the Final Four in 1982. N. Carolina had a couple of above average players named Worthy and Perkins on their squad. Oh, and they had this young freshman by the name of Jordan as well. He was pretty good :-)

  • The most classic line from this highlight and the game:

"To Laettner from Hurley; misses, and that's an indication of how this game has gone. At the other end it's Hunt, bringing it in to the pass to Augmon; And it's all the Runnin Rebs. They Feel it now."

  • 1990 UNLV is the best NCAA team of all time. Shame they lost in 91 cause that would of been the best team of all time. I believe we can say 1991 rebels were the best team in modern sports not to win the championship.

  • one of the most dominant teams ever, regardless of the sanctions and unlawful stuff that was common with the program you cannot take away the fact that they are one of the best teams from the 90's

  • The athleticism of this UNLV team was just absurd (I'm a Duke fan, btw)!

  • So the Runnin Rebels or Fab Five? Who wins?

  • @Antonio71826 runnin rebels, not even close,

  • @Antonio71826 running rebels were better and more dominant

  • The comment about UNLV winning 9 out of 10 times if they played again.....isn't that the point of the NCAA Tournament? It's one and done. You don't get to play it again. Maybe the Fab Five can pretend they beat Carolina too? It was an awesome team, but i fyou watch the game, you might think it was officiating, but that doesn't account for why Larry Johnson didn't take the shot??? Maybe THAT was Las Vegas, baby.

  • How many guys from this UNLV team went on to the NBA? lol

  • @MatrixFactoryGuy 3 I think

  • best team of all time.....

  • The didnt have the inside presence the next year with moses scurry and butler gone but they still should of beat Duke....UNLV would of been known as the best college team consensus wise....but they had a bad game

  • Still the most points scored in the championship game. Still the largest margin of victory. Duke got TROUNCED. They had no business beating UNLV the next year. OBVIOUS fixed officiating.

  • i hate duke...now i <3 unlv

  • Best college BBall team of all time. All respect to the Wooden era but they didn't play basketball like this in the 60's. This team would have wiped the floor with any college bball team from any era. The weird part is they were even better and deeper the next year when they didn't win it.

  • @71tuffgong they were not deeper the next year because they lost some rebounding and block shots from Butler and Scurry. But they should of kicked Duke's ass anyhow but the refs were on Duke's side also.

  • Fab 5 all day baby

  • i'm so high right now and did 3hrs of research of unlv team since i saw the commerical on hbo...for some reason the weed really impact me with this because i was so confused when i saw the commerical...i thought it was a superbowl promo foreal...this shit is wonderul

  • fuck the fab 5...unlv was the first team to really bring the college game into the modern era

best moment to me was when they went into fayetville in 1991 and whupped arkansas

  • Greatest college basketball team ever!

  • In my opinion, it was the NCAA that cost UNLV not that game but the championship. Tark had battled them from decades in court and had happened in the game was there payback. If anyone remembers, UNLV was originally not allowed to defend their title until the NCAA allowed them. The officials were told to close it closely on Greg Anthony.

  • That 1990 UNLV Team was the best team in NCAA history. Should've won in 91 too if it wasn't for some shitty officiating

  • @trueathlete15 100% in agreement with you.It seemed like whenever the Rebels were about to pull away, the officials slowed em down...not Duke.I didn't figure I was the only one who saw that.

  • This team was better then any NCAA BBALL team ever. They should have won the title the next year going into the semi's undefeated against duke while blowing out every team on the way but, the ref's purposely screwed them in that game. They were given marching orders from the NCAA to call every tick tack foul on the rebels in order to enable duke to win since The rebels resembled an NBA team with their arrogance and style of play while duke were chior boys who the NCAA wanted as their model team

  • best team money could buy at that time.

  • This UNLV team would SERVE ANY Championship team from the last 15-16 years..

  • total domination... completely whipped... love it...

  • Ever wonder why UNLV was so good? Go look up the ages of their starting 5. Then go look up the ages of Duke's starting 5. Hmmmmm.

  • @usnavy102902

    age means nada

  • @usnavy102902

Off the top of my head -

Brickey, Abdelnabbe, & Phil Henderson were all Seniors, Hurley a Frosh, & Laettner a Soph.

For Vegas, Butler was a Sr, Hunt a Soph, & LJ, Augmon, & Anthony all Jr's.

That's 15 years combined on both starting fives.

UNLV was so good because they were just that - too good for '90 Duke.

  • @usnavy102902 Learn your basketball. Johnson, Augmon, Greg Anthony, were all more NBA accomplished pro's then Laetner, Hill, or Hurley. Hill was only good for a couple of years with Detroit since that team sucked and he was taking all the shots but then his career to a nose dive since. Laetner was a whining bitch who was too soft for the NBA. Everybody knows duke gets favorable treatment from NCAA refs thats the only reason they win

  • I think they lost like 4 games this year...how, I dont know.....

  • @mulder1021 They lost because they had so many players who missed games because of suspensions.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!! UNLV was only beating Duke by 12 at the half, and they end up clobbering them by 30!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea!! GO UNLV!

  • Should Hank Gathers had not passed away Loyola Marymount University would of been the NCAA Champions!

  • The Rebels beat LMU earlier in that same season when Gathers was alive....I was there, look it up.

  • I forgot how damn good this UNLV team was...what was their record this year? I dont think they lost more than 3 right?

  • duke got the ass whoopin of a life ime

  • As painful as the loss was next year. This game was way more of crushing defeat to duke.U.n.l.v Rules! This evening was the best ever! My favorite team of all-time absolutely kicked there azz!

  • If UNLV played La Crosse they'd be banned 25 to Life. It's double hard to win when you have to play against 100's of moonlighting car rental office boys lined up against you on the NCAA team.

  • The Rebels put on a clinic that night. I bet Greg Anthony is banned from being an analyst at any Duke games.

  • wat an ass whoppin lol

  • Anderson Hunt was the truth

  • well if i paid players id have an awesome team too ha ha ha 1 ring and they havent even seen the tounament since ..........

  • It's easy to see that the 2nd year, that game was "fishy" at best...UNLV is down by 2, and they have a man posted up UNDER THE RIM with a small forward on the guy's back...Larry takes a 3 pointer instead of passing the ball down low which would have ALMOST CERTAINLY resulted in foul shots or a 3 point play...that was fishy. Does everyone remember the HOT TUB scene a few days later with UNLV players posing with a big time betting shark?

  • That was a badas-s team! Too quick for anybody.

  • @socalsocal88 this unlv team vs. 08 Memphis would be a great matchup

  • Dunk at 0:21 seconds was SERIOUS! I most definitely appreciate a team that won the national title by stealing the ball and then trying to dunk it in most badass fashion possible. Plus, this shoot like a motherfucker. Straight bombers

  • UNLV was always accused of "running up the score" in this game. They were up by 25 with over 13 minutes to go. I think they COULD have made it a lot worse than it was. 103-73

  • @dave4248 Even if they did "run up the score," why is that such a problem? It's not your job to stop scoring.

Besides Duke beat Richmond by 35 in the opening round. Or is it a rule that you cant run up the score against prestigious teams only, and the mid-majors dont matter?

  • I remember watching this game as a kid..brings back memories...this UNLV team was amazing to watch..they should have won 2 straight championships..

  • 1990 UNLV team was just a Las Vegas NBA team. You will never see a team like that again.

  • @PremiumWater

BUT Duke did get it's revenge the next year.... So I guess Duke was dam near NBA level as well...

  • Really they got revenge in a game the rebels threw? I would hardly say that is revenge. If we knew the real story i think we would find some bodies in the desert.

  • @PremiumWater

Dude..... Are you saying the refs cheated ? I"m not saying that never happens..... NBA proved that... BUT I watched that game and I didn't notice any dirty stuff if that's what your getting at... Duke just played one helluva game and proved getting back to the Championship game they were for real...

  • roflmao @ Dook.

  • how much money do you think larry johnson and the boys got to through the game the next year

  • This same team lost to UCSB this season!

  • I love these UNLV teams. Larry Johnson, Stacey Augom, George Akles, Anderson Hunt, and Greg Anthony to name a few. They made Duke their bitches that night. And yes I know Duke beat 'em the next year but they barely won. UNLV whooped their ass by 30 points in this game so take that Puke fans!!!

  • COULDNT HAVE SAID IT BETTER

  • dang!

  • The UNLV defense is arguably the greatest of all-time. If that amoeba defense is run properly, its almost impossible to beat

  • duke was only down by 12 at half time should have been only 10 so it wasnt a blow out till the second half.

  • The rebels came out blazing they hammered them. They just blew them out! every shot was dropping stealing running and gunnin. Honestly, I think this 90' team with butler and scurry just played on emotion and they would just animalistic crashing boards, swatting shots, yelling, bench clearing brawling.I htink 91 starting five was good with ackles, especially vs arkansas at the barn that was the rebels at there best..todd day, oooh! ackles right over oliver miller!with the jam! evric grey not scurry.

  • @jkrowling3 - Are you done yet?

  • duke got owned lol

  • You see how clean everyone of thiern shots were. I have never seen a team make that net blink from catching all net. ever.

  • what has unlv done since this???

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this!

  • That team was on that day. They would have beat any team in college history. They were on!

  • college history?they had the same damn team the next year same players and lost to duke so i think ur wrong.

  • Not quite, They had a fella named "grant hill" on the roster next year. They also didn't have returning senior center "david butler" who could run the floor llike a small forward, Nor did the have "moses scurry"#35. Both those player were intensity. Anthony fouled out was the real reason and grant hill must of had an impact. Plus duke played pretty solid. The rebels were hungary in 90!

  • The UNLV that followed the 1990 version was by far the most devastatingly dominant team since the 1976. Nobody could pass the ball and have five players run the court the way the 1990-91 Rebels could.

  • I agree. I've thought all along that UNLV threw that game the next year and, all the evidence afterwards certainly points to that. But, I guess we'll never know. But, no doubt the 90-91 team was even better than this one.

  • the fact duke repeated in 92 after beating unlv in 91 proves your wrong cause that proves how good that duke team was, duke only lost 2 games in 92 and would have gone undefeated if bobby hurley handt broken his foot that year, grant hill had to be point guard and the two games they lost were on the road and they lost them both by only 2 points without hurley.

  • What Duke did in '92 has nothing to do with what happened in '91. I didn't assert that Duke wasn't a great team. What I do imply is that they weren't good enough to beat THAT particular UNLV team. If you watch that game, you'd see that it was obvious that UNLV was not their normal aggressive selves. In the end it's neither here or there. But, watching that game, and then knowing that the two stars of the team were seen hanging out with a known fixer, really gives the whole thing away.

  • it has alot to do with 91 u retard because it was the same exact players the same team from the year before u fool, unlv wasnt in a close game all year when they found themselves in a close game they felt the pressure the fact duke repeated and almost went undefeated themselves proves the 91 game wasnt a fluke u are just stupid.

  • Well, I'll have to assume that since you resort to name calling of people that don't agree with you, that you're just a kid. No problem.

The claim that UNLV felt "pressure" because they were in a close game, doesn't hold water. They weren't in close games because they were THAT GOOD. Watch the replay of the ENTIRE game, and read what transpired the days following, and you'll understand what happened.................unless, of course you'd rather bury your head in the sand.

  • the reason they werent in close games was because they were in the wac conference u idiot, thats one of the weakest conference maybe the weakest with teams like new mexico and texas el paso, the days following dont mean crap cause they were in las vegas u retard there is many people who gamble in vegas unlv didnt go all that way undefeated just to lose and the fact duke won it next year with the same team proves duke was tough and good enough to beat unlv.

  • UNLV did not play New Mexico or UTEP, UNLV was in the Big West, not the WAC.Now they are in the Mountain West with New Mexico. UNLV did have a good rivalry with New Mexico State though. Just thought I'd let you know. Your Welcome

  • @Randy2477 New Mexico State beat them that year. Go Aggies!

  • you ignore the facts like the fact duke repeated which proves beating unlv was no fluke u ignore facts like unlv came from such a weak conference which hurt them come final four time i never met anyone so stupid as you.

  • It was extremely exciting to watch the rebels play. They were just a wrecking crew of talent that just was up tp run and gun and let it all out on the court. Iremember david butler crashing the board in tthis game with a yell.kicking it out to anthony run the court full speed got it back and hammered a jam down with auhtority!

  • It will be hard for any program to dominate College Basketball from here on out...there is so much more talent out there nowadays and notable Mid-Majors like Memphis, UNLV, Dayton, Xavier, Gonzaga, & Utah are able to steal great talent from powerhouses like Duke, UNC, Flordia, UCLA, UConn, Kentucky, Syracuse, Mich St, Kansas, & Arizona

  • Best team ever...

  • One Mo fo the road. Jaylen Rose Went to Southwest High School as well. We Had Jaylen Rose wear the Baggy Shorts Because the old way was Gay.He took the New Way to Michigan & now the NBA wears Baggy shorts because of Jaylen Rose & SOUTHWEST. DETROIT. Thanks Jaylen Rose

  • wow thanks for such a vital part of the game mr rose!!!!!!

  • Anderson Hunt Is Class of 87.Anderson Hunt Was Baby Jordon & Blackballed out of the League. Southwest Detroit is in the Building. When they Make the BMF Movie Hunt better be repped in it.

  • Oh Yeah Im Class of 1986 Southwestern High Perry Watson. Free Big Meech

  • I just remeber how happy I was for UNLV to win this game .granhted duke got them the next year, but this was the one of the best if not the best collage championship team that I ever saw in my life. great defense, good shooting on offense and the fast break and transition. just magnificeint

  • it was Burnt Hamburger's last game for CBS

  • I love watching DOOK get fucked in the rear.

  • 2 Words Anderson Hunt!!!

  • UNLV 103 DUKE 73!!

  • jkrowling, you've really got your panties in a bundle over this, don't ya? *LOL*

  • lmao unlv sucks ass today. i guess you all didn't watch the 1991 game huh.

  • You mean the game in 1991 where Duke played the game of their lives and UNLV played incredibly flat, uninspired and overconfidently? I watched it, as bad as UNLV played they only lost by 2..that's how sick of a team they were. UNLV wins that game against Duke 9 times out of 10

  • @DaPhils

Doesn't matter if they lost by 2 or by 20.... Duke won the championship the next year and avenged this loss.... Winning a championship is special anyway you slice it... Give Duke credit ...

  • not mention they were in foul trouble the whole game

  • @DaPhils okay they still lost, it's their fault for showing up flat and the 92' or 01' Blue Devils kick either of these UNLV teams asses and watchout Duke is gonna be scary next year

  • @Wolverinefan33 duke is always scary, it helps to have the NCAAs undying support...if the game is close against anyone they're gonna get the calls...no such thing as a blocking foul on duke, yet butler gets called for two bullshit "charges"...must be nice being Puke

  • @DaPhils haha wow all you do is hate huh? what your just gonna negate four national championships because of an opinion?go ahead and don't give them credit, but remember when they are winning titles (their most recent one, OH YEAH TWO WEEKS AGO) losers like you are crying and calling them "puke", and at least duke wins with team work, sportsmanship and fair recruiting, good Americans should be praising them because they win with class and represent what sport should be about.

  • @Wolverinefan33 Oh yeah and 2004 against UCONN? I recall it being a 1 point game in which Duke lost due to the THREE of their centers fouling out, the refs totally favored them there. they also got called for four more fouls than wvu in the national semis so shut your mouth about the calls.

  • @Wolverinefan33 How the fuck does the '92 team kick the 90 UNLV teams asses when it took a last second shot against a Kentucky team with only one top 20 player and a bunch of guys like Farmer & Woods? UNLV's 1989-90 KILLED your dookies by 30 points. The 91 UNLV didn't have all the same players, but your Duke team did, and only beat them by 2. And there were 13 different players altogether on those two UNLV teams.

  • No 99 out of 100 times

  • @DaPhils Maybe they do win 9 times out of 10, but the lost the only time that it counted.

  • @DaPhils its crazy how college basketball works huh? we could all say the same thing about the duke 1999 team. 9/10 times they beat UCONN that year, but UCONN played their hearts out and duke was flat the entire game. UNLV is pretty much the greatest team of all time in college bball. kinda ironic that it was duke, not UNLV that repeated as champs. UNLV would smash any team in today's era

  • @DaPhils Meaningless. You can only play a game once, not ten times. Historical events cannot be repeated.

UNLV lost -- deal with it.

  • @DaPhils

Exactly right--this was one of the greatest college teams EVER.

  • @DaPhils

Doesn't matter... Duke won... Bottom line.....

  • @funkyflights Yeah, Duke won, congrats.

Only problem I have is that it's 20 years later and in my opinion the NCAA is still paving the golden road for them. it is no secret that the NCAA hated Tark and UNLV and was thrilled to death that Duke beat them. I just think enough is enough and that the NCAA needs to stop rewarding Duke every year. I believe that Duke has committed many of the same violations that UNLV did but the NCAA will always look the other way.

    Just my opinion.

  • @jck148

Hey I"m no Duke fan .... I just appreciated what a solid team they were.. As far as the NCAA playing favorites OH YEAH ... I won't ever dispute that leagues don't play favorites... NFL proved that ... NBA has proven that and NCAA has proven that... no argument there...

  • @jck148: It is true.

Also, if you ever get a chance to watch the UNLV doc, Tark talks about how UCLA used to get the same preferences that Duke got. The Bruins had a guy named Sam Gilbert that was paying players in the 60's and 70's, but the NCAA looked the other way and attacked his program.

As for 1990, Duke shouldn't have been there that year. This should have been UNLV vs. U-Conn or Arkansas. Tate George gave Duke the game by dropping a steal out of bounds.

  • You're absolutely right. Watch the 1991 UNLV-Duke game and you'll see how the officials handle UNLV's players. Every time UNLV would go on a run, you'd see a foul called to put Duke on the line and give them easy points. In 1992 it was even worse. Duke shot 600 more free throws in 1992 than their opponents and in the FInal Four vs. Indiana, the Hoosiers had 4 players foul out with 5 minutes to go but didn't shoot their first free throw of the 2nd half until there were 3 minutes left. Ridiculous.

  • @cacable7 Totally agreed man. The Ncaa wasn't gonna let Tark out of Indy with an undefeated season and back to back championships. Duke got all the calls vs UNLV in 91 and still almost lost/ barely won. Watching Brian Davis smiling while shooting free throws sums it all up. They weren't really getting fouled. Lol. They called a fair game in '90 and we both know what happened. In 91 it was all bs. No flagrant call on Hurley. Anthony fouls out. I believe Vegas would have killed Kansas by 50.

  • You speak the truth. I saw the documentary on UNLV that HBO did and comments made by Jay Bilas both state that Duke played their best game of the year, while UNLV didn't play well at all. Add in the refs love affair with Duke that began here and the final score shows how good Vegas really was. I have 25 or so games from that 2 year run and I've never seen a better team

  • Sorry, I was referring to the 1991 Final Four game against Duke that we were talking about before. I didn't mean this game.

  • @wilbert916 Also the no call on Grant Hill when he ran up the court and intentionally elbowed Augmon I think it was, in the jaw. No call there.

  • @wilbert916 mybad it was Hill running down court and knocking Hunt down with the shoulder. Either way, it looked intentional and the refs did nothing about it. And there was an intentional foul call on Augmon when all he did was barely touch the guy. Refs definitely favored Duke

  • UNLV made Duke their bitch.

  • tark is a bitch

  • ...this is embarassing

  • Man this game was too damn funny 30 points no excuses for that then when you look at the next years final four game a blind man could see that th NCAA did not want UNLV to win back to back championships

  • wow! Now that was a good game! Not because i hate duke, well actually it is because i hate duke! lol and i know they won in 91 and 92 but i really dont give a shit about that!

  • whatever, duke owns

  • duke is crap!

  • Best college basketball team in the last 30 years. Absolutely Skullfvcked Dook and Coach K.

  • you mean best CHEATING team in the last 30 years

  • An absolute clinic! One of my favorite performances in sports bar none!

  • Best... NCAA... Championship Game... EVER!!!

  • shut up

  • This UNLV team was the greatest ever. Florida of 2006 was second and 1992 Duke third.

  • nah no way florida

    1. 1990 unlv

    2. 1996 kentucky

    3.1992 duke

  • if this team was the greatest ever why did they lose to duke the next year they had the same players.

  • Anything is possible in one game. They played lousy. Hey, they lost one game the entire season.

  • they wouldnt have lost if they didnt play duke, duke put an end to many teams seasons back then.

  • it was only two points so don't gloat over it too much.

  • im gloating cause it ruined unlv's perfect undefeated season, and the fact that duke got beat the year before made it even sweet, revenge is great!

  • Comment removed

  • Still it was only 2 points. Just like how Penn State fans like to gloat their win over Miami in the 87 Orange Bowl, but they only won by 4 points (14-10), and they only took advantage of 1 of 7 Miami turnovers.

  • yeah but they took advantage of the one that mattered the most the interception at the end to win the game.

  • True, but that's still not something to be proud of. The defense, yeah, but the offense should be ashamed of themselves.

And ESPN had the nerves to say the 86 Penn State team was one of the best ever... 94 PSU was better btw.

  • Its called a FIX. Don't know if you realize but UNLV was originally banned from participating in the 91 tournament becuase of fishy activity with recruiting under TARK and their connection with a known sports fixer with mob ties. UNLV was banned from from the following years tournament even before this game (even if they won the 91 title they would not be allowed to defend it), 3 seperate schools that Tark coached at were eventually disciplined by the NCAA for violations. All was not kosher.

  • yeah funny how no other team could beat them except duke the same team who repeated again ur an idiot.

  • I miss the good ole days when the T&M would be filled...I only wish one day we could be as good. Now we lose to Colorado and New Mexico...come on...

  • The greatest college basketball team ever!!!!!!!!

  • Hell Yeah!!!!! F-Duke!

  • I think that team could of beat some CBA NBA and some of the over seas pro teams

  • without a doubt!

  • no f-unlv

  • One of the greatest squads to play in a title game. I always remember that this was Brent Musburger final duties as the head announcer at CBS. He was either fired that same day or the day before, which was April Fools Day

  • The greatest NCAA National Championship game EVER.

In my high school there were 499 Duke fans and 1 UNLV fan (ME). The day of the game I was getting so much crap at school but the next day I loved it.

  • Joshyouwanna, it is widely believed that the UNLV vs Duke game in the 91 Final Four was fixed. There is a classic picture of Hunt, Johnson, and Augmon in a hot tub with a known bookie and game fixer only days after they lost that game. That game being fixed is the only real explanation to the undefeated UNLV team losing to Dukethat year. That should have been an EASY UNLV repeat.

  • Unfortunately, this is the truth. It's sad because '91 UNLV was unbeatable, and may have been the best team ever. How sad for Duke, that their breakthrough moment came from the help of shady gangsters. Duke would have risen anyway...in 1992.

  • yep another conspiracy theorist

  • in my school in my class we pick a team out of a box and evryone gets 3 teams and i got Duke, Arizona, Arizona St

  • "UNLV shat on Duke in the 1990 NCAA Basketball Championship Game. Case closed." true, but please, somebody inform me who won the next two years. and where in unlv. there still winning championships, and where in unlv.. please. i really don't know if that university is still around.

  • With all due respect. Who cares who won the next two years???? In the 91 game there was probably point shaving by some UNLV players and even then UNLV almost won. then in 92 it was a very lucky shot that helped them win.

Duke is the NCAA's favorite team and they will allways, in my opinion, give duke every extra advantage. Duke wins mean nothing to me because they have NEVER EVER been earned, they are given to them by the NCAA.
