  • i love that song...!(:

  • nice page

  • you are amazing, i would have absoloutly FREAKED if i made that mistake i would have like ripped the page out even though that is the point of art journaling, i have no ideas for you to do, lol

  • Welcome back!!!!!! Great video. Why don't you use fabric in your journals

  • Hmm, okay, I have an idea for you! What can you come up with to do with tons of school photos. I buy the packets and after I give to the grandparents, I have tons of pics left over. I have three kids, and they do pics twice a year, that's alot of pics! Can you think of anything to do with multiples of the same pictures? Thanks, Marielle- A.K.A. GypseeWind. :))) PS. love your videos, and I love owls, that's what drew me to watch them, your username.

  • Love your video and journal page = ) and your dog too = )

  • i love to doodle over my journal pages.

paint, colour, scribble, write and stick e.c.t

like i would write something on it and if i make a mistake scribble it put in pen..make it have mistakes on it!!!

    thats what i do..

AND I'M SHOWEN THE LOVE BABY!

  • LOL you're flushing out us lurkers ; P love your videos, wish you'd make more!

  • YOU were missed..you keep us all inspired on great journal ideas and I love going to local Goodwill and recycle hardback books into something fun and journal like crazy in them! You started my journey in this..keep the ideas coming girlie!

  • You were missed..KEEP THE VIDEOS coming girlie! We sure need you to keep us all accountable on our art!

  • I just started my first art journal a few weeks ago and am experimenting with the materials and supplies I have on hand (though I confess to buying some gesso and watercolor crayons yesterday!). I've been looking around youtube and blogs for some techniques to try and am enjoying your videos. Have you ever used oil pastels for backgrounds? I'm liking how they look scrubbed with a toothbrush. A couple other soft (aka oily) pigments in my crafty box were stencil cream and Crayola Slick Stix.

  • you made me laugh hunnie i love all your vids:) keep them coming:)

  • cant think of an idea for you but im send ing you a big hug! loved the video by the way.

  • YOU ROCK! thank you for this!

  • Sometimes I paint on tissue wrapping paper, and cut it out into shapes (like flower petals) to assemble on the page. You could try that! Or glue cut out magazine pictures of animals and paint on top of them (like paint by numbers). What do you think?

  • Just found your videos today and I really have enjoyed watching them something that you may want to check out on You tube that you could try out and enjoy would be to make a paper bag album or a toilet paper roll album they are fun and easy and you can do anything to them Thanks for your videos Please keep em comming hope you enjoy trying out my suggestion : )

  • Hey, you are awesome-- How about doing your techniques on different things, Picture frames, lamp shades, etc. How about on a canvas with cut outs to insert pictures??? again, you are awesome

  • I just wanted to say, I know we sometimes unfortunately do, but do not get mad or angry about yourself, when something like this happens.

The artjournaling on my opinion should be an outlet for you, for yourself, not for the outer world. it is for your benefit. so you can get in better contact with your true innerself, a sort of reconnection. That is so important. And if you get mad at yourself.........you should appreciate yourself for making this step to express yourself. have fun xoxo

  • Hey, why don't you do an art journal wherein all the pages of it are Black? And balance the color of the cover from the "blackness" of the inside? I hope you get my point. :)

  • The dog... Is that a brussels griffon or an affen? I have a tan affen and he's the most lovable dog ever!

  • you are very smart! he is one half of both actually! 1 million cool points for you! lol.

  • they are the best dogs in the world! Does yours tunnel? Mine will make a nest in blankets and tunnel underneath them :)

  • he is very quirky. he doesn't tunnel, but he loves to rub all over my bath mats and wad them up haha.

  • Could you make a basic list of stuff you use to do your books, like what kind of paints and glue, etc, you like to use, also' what's in the bottle you sprayed on the page? I love you book!

  • hm. paint wise i use the cheap craft paint mostly. glue i go for the purple craft stick one...i wanna say by elmer's but i can't remember off the top of my head. that bottle is a spray "shimmer" ink. i love it. otherwise i mainly use scrapbooking supplies because that's what i have most of haha. hope that helps some!

  • I L O V E how you showed and told people that it's OKAY to make mistakes and how to 'fix' them. So many people scrap their art when not happy. This is the way to go! Fun vids!

  • This is the first video of your that I have seen. I'm totally new to this, so I don't have any suggestions yet for you but I'm loving what you do. Please keep doing it!

  • I like how you admitted to your mistake......very cute and very real!

    Love, Violette

  • that n actually did look like a capital R!

    I dont blame yeah. =D

  • KEEP MAKING MORE VIDEOS, lol

  • hey.. you make some great journal pages... love the colors... How about if you make some cook vintage buttons out of polymer clay and sew them to your pages.. or sew regular buttons on the pages.... you have many views on your videos... don't worry.. just be creative and we will be here.

  • I am new to all of this. I'm seeing your video for the fist time today. LOVE THEM!!!! Thank you Off to Cneate oops:))) Create

  • Honey, if I had a camera I'd leave a video response. I love your videos. It gives me great ideas and I've just started journaling. I've haven't done anything art-related since 8th grade (and that's back when Lincoln was president) and your videos make me want to play, color, cut, glue, WHATEVER! Keep doing them, and the viewers will come!!!!!!!!!

  • where did you buy your art journal?

  • It's a moleskin sketch book. They're available at several places..I believe I bought mine at books-a-million.

  • i loved this video before but totally love it now that it is in high def!!!

  • I love your pages

  • i love this video.... you have a great style!

  • I am just starting out with my art journals and I would love to see you do some faux painting..ie: roses, daisies...I guess you can tell that I love flowers and Iam incorporating my faux painting in my journals....I haven't done faux painting for over 10 years so it will take some time to get back into the hanag of it. I just don't see anyone doing this.

    Thanks xoxo.

  • Here is my comment! Please don't hate me. I completely understand what you say about comments really making a difference. I haven't been very active on YouTube but I have a blog and when I get piles of comments it makes me want to do more. Your videos are great, and your pup is adorable. I love how he wagged his little tail! And I thought your page turned out great, and that the fix for the mistake turned out even better!

  • id love to see you do some art to song lyrics. any kind. itd been neat to see.

  • Oh yeah... I also like to draw my own designs on white tissue paper, then collage them to page (or tags...I love shipping tags). It gives a neat transparent look and is cooler than stamping 'cause the artwork is all yours and can be painted over if you use a fine sharpie to draw. Just know tissue is delicate, so be careful..

  • You are too cute. Don't get discouraged. I've just started journaling. A couple o' ideas for you to try...cut parallel lines in your book with an exacto knife and then weave multi-colored ribbon through slits...I, also, love to incorporate different yarns and beads, buttons and sequins on the pages or use braided/beaded yarns as bookmarks. Adds lots of character and interest! Keep on creating!!...

  • Wow! I am always making mistakes with things and this is a BRILLIANT!! way to cover them up! I never even thought of that! Usually I just get all mad and have to walk away and get very emotional, but I never thought about actually turning my mistake into more of the art. Thanks soo much for the idea! And here's an idea to try. Spray paint. If you use that and some newspaper, you can create amazing backgrounds. You can also play around with it and some tools too.

  • Smooches - sending lots of love your way. I enjoy watching your videos, so keep on keepin' on. Something I do in my journal sometimes is draw a lot of loop-de-loop scribble doodles all over the page and then she what images I can find inside them. I find some really wierd critters and funky people in there sometimes. It's probably a lame idea, but you might give it a shot.

  • *explodes* I love your art!

  • why thank you! i love your comment! haha!

  • Way to go on the mistake! It looked great on the end! PS: your puppy is too cute!

Have you ever done anything in your art journal of your dog?

  • thanks! actually in the next video i believe that i did use a picture of him.

  • I haven't been on youtube in a while, and ran across yours! I loved it! I've been making journals for a few years and sometimes come here for inspiration. I'll check out the rest and I hope you keep making them because I subscribed!

  • that's right girly, always incorporate those mistakes, that's what it's all about. :)

  • Thanks for sharing! I liked your art. I'm trying to start journaling now.... I needs lots of practice but im trying! "Take care"

  • I enjoyed your post! Made me want to go create again! Keep up the good work!

  • hiya I love your video, I have an idea for you, I love using pressed flowers in the cards I make, how about a journal using pressed flowers. That would be fun. I made a garden journal and put the pressed flowers that were out in the month they came out and wrote about when they flower, etc. it was cool

  • I thought the n looked like an r, too. I would never have noticed!

I love your videos...just found you and now you're quitting. Rats.

    Try finger-painting!

    ~Jeni

  • I love the video!! Something I do is pick up the first five things in reach (tonight it is a piece of a whataburger bag, the packaging from a paintbrush I bought yesterday, a receipt, some picture of a dowdy woman I cut from an encyclopedia I was using for something else, and some stickers that came with my moleskine). I cut or tear them into manageable pieces, lay out my prepped art journal page, and drop them on there. I adhere them exactly where they land, and make my layout around that.

  • pop up journal page.

  • Hey you have a great personality! try making a journal page based on a movie, or book you have read. better yet I'll send you a random video, and make a page based on it. Can't wait to see what you can do!

  • Hi, i was just zipping around looking at art journals and stopped to look at yours. I hope you keep it up and I would like to see somebody copy me... Im pinkydinks on ebay. And I also start all my aceos with black gesso. Yes, black gesso...then i just start in painting... no sketching... just follow my brush. Hope to see your next video soon. Cecelia

  • You could save some time by coloring a small portion of Gesso and then applying it to the Moleskin with a rag.

  • Loved your journal entry! :)

  • thanks!

  • if a person is not loged in they can not rate when they find the video at random like i did anyways i loged in so you would know i watched

    good job

  • lol thanks!

  • I just found you....and Im sooo glad I did...XD I think your fantastic. I have just gotten into doing art on a more regualar basis..so, I am exploring materials and would love to find out about all the ways you use them. Currently I'm curious about Gesso, can you talk about its purpose, uses and any tips you may have? thx

oh and .... keep up the great work, your videos really helped me grasp the concept of Art journalling! ;D

  • I'm planning on making a video about gesso very very soon. hopefully it will help.

  • Love this one too! You are great at this!! I have a question if you don't mind. What kind of pens do you write over your journal pages with? I find that my fine point sharpies don't go well over acrylic paint or even water soluable oil crayins b/c the paint/wax clogs up my pen tips ;0( I'd love to know what you are using because it looks like it writes very well. Thanks for sharing and keep it going!!! XOXO

  • i don't use crayons very often, so i can't really give you any ideas. but on my paint, i use a an american craft precision point pen or a zig millennium pen. i've ruined many a tip not waiting for the paint to be completely dry tho. still looking for the perfect pen.

  • loved it ....make more hun!

  • Heehee...nice save from the "n" to the "r". :) I like your videos. Sorry I haven't commented sooner.

Ideas....hmmm. Maybe using more photographs (or copies of photographs) of you as a child? We all have old school pictures we can dig up!

  • I'm glad you're back! My suggestion is to prime your paper with gesso before you paint and use things to make texture in the gesso. I use a tiny sponge roller or a big house painting paint brush but I spin it in circles and it looks like drops of rain in a puddle, or I press mesh into it and it leaves a great texture. Then when it's dry you paint your background on top of it and the texture shows through.

  • Me again. Another cool way to put texture in gesso is with the teeth of a comb. It works in paint too of course. Have fun.

  • Hi girlie, glad to see you! I love the colors and the BG papers!

  • Hi! I love that you fessed up to your boo-boo. I so would do something like that.

My idea/tip: I used parchment paper - like the kind on a roll, for baking! I used metal brads to attach it to my page as an overlay. You can cut it to any size, and it's translucent. I bet it's cheaper than vellum.

  • You are being watched and appreciated!

Idea: make a photocopy of an old picture of you as a baby and use this for a nice page. Let the baby talk through your art! Maybe she's got some good advise for you? Or an important question that she always wanted to ask? I'm looking forward to your video!

  • hey i love ur videos cant wait to see more maybe you should try and incorparate more pictures in your pages i made a whole book like this and decorated the pages and add picutres to them i loved it and maybe you would too

  • I love your videos and your realness. I'm glad you made another one!!

  • i love your videos! keep them coming. I did comment one of your videos long time ago, to invite you to join my moleskine exchange program. Haha. Let me know if you are interested.

new Ideas huh? sharing why you made that particular entry maybe? Or make an entry from your old stuff, books, old photo etc. Hope to see more videos!

  • oh....i totally missed that comment. i think that would be pretty sweet. message me with info! :)

  • Yeah I sent you a message before too =P Anyway, I sent you another message, please check your youtube message box and tell me what you think.

I'm from Hong Kong by the way.

  • I really like your videos!! I have learned so much from you, so please keep making them!!!!

  • I am so glad you are back!!!

    I love your videos!

  • I enjoyed your video, today and felt, oddly, compelled to leave a comment *wink*. Nice work! Have you tried using mat medium instead of water to mix with your paint? It will make it transparent, but keeps the paint texture thicker. Mat medium changed my painting life.

    Great pages!

  • Make pockets and put things in them! I love pockets.

  • Your art journal is fantastic. I'm soooo glad you're back!

I have no ideas...mostly coz I got mine from watching your videos.

And mine doesn't look half as good as yours! Maybe its practice makes perfect?

I was well impressed how you covered up the 'n'

Pleeeease make more videos more often!!

  • i know what you mean about the comments! Maybe I will be brave enough to show you what I do in my journal! Your videos are fun, I love how you covered up your "mistake", that's the joy of journals, there are no mistakes!!! It's all part of the creative process! Keep making videos.

  • haha!

  • Ah, girly, it's the nature of the beast. I've got over 1,000 on one and like only a handful of comments. :) Just know you're being watched and we enjoy them. ;)

  • Hello! This is actually the first time I've seen any of your vids & I'm definitely subscribing & I'm going to check out the rest of them over the weekend!

For me I love watching these kinds of videos because I get those 'Ah' lightbulb moments and I want to try out techniques that I've seen. One cool thought for your next vid would be to include quick screen caps with info (what you're doing/using/what a product name is if u rate it). Or try that new text comment thing youtube just introduced ☺✌

  • thanks for subbing! :)

this was just a video i wanted to get done quickly...I usually talk a little about what I'm using.

  • So nice to see you back! I love your videos and I promise I will leave comments from now on, how's that? ;)

How about doing a page using just one colour? It can be any shade of that colour, but when you pick green or pink, it all has to be green or pink or whatever. See what you can come up with using all kinds of different materials.

  • oooo yes. that would be fun.

  • yay you're back! hmm..what about making a page that folds out (like suzi's accordion page)

  • i've thought about that! like a way to maybe hide the journaling.

  • i loved, i loved!!!!!

    sooooooo good!

  • Hi! I love your vids. I am trying to do a christmas card and want to put photos in the "reflection" of a christmas ornament.

    Any ideas?

  • oh wow. sounds like an awesome idea. unfortunately...I have no skill in drawing. haha. or photo manipulation. hmmmm.

  • i know what you mean! i get like that when ppl dont reply to commments. i get all suicide-y

  • lol!

  • Do a "best friends" in your journal!

  • ooh ooh ooh have you used aluminum foil tape? you gt it from the hardware store. Im making my next vid about it!!!!

  • Love your videos...I'm glad you are back!!

  • I just discovered you and love ur video. Hve u done anything on animals?

  • im thinking really hard for you! i swear! ummm... use BUTTONS!

  • Nice to have you back. You are being watched in Europe :)

  • hellllo over there!

  • awesome!!!!

i think you need to watch suziblutube's channel

  • oh i love suzi's videos!! I was just watching some.

  • THIS IS A COMMENT!!!!!

yay!! i loved it, i watched it first, it was AWESOME!!! funfun fun!!!
