none of those riders were too "big" they were tall and most likely under 110 pounds. Which, like comments below, ponies can hold/carry up to 20% of their body weight. Those ponies where over 200 easily.
Too big? Horses and ponies can carry up to 20 % of their own body weight ( look it up on google) before they show signs of stress (age, breed, fitness and rider ability all play a factor). Put a well balanced rider weighing between 60 and 80 lbs on the white pony and the pony should be fine.
Actually, the rider at 2:12 wasn't too big weight wise, definitely she's too tall but might not be too heavy... I'm way too tall for some of the ponies at my house but I don't weight too much and can still ride them over fences. My friend is also wicked tall for her age and weighs only 70ish pounds... she can ride the miniature horses, which are sometimes only 30inches tall! Not to mention even the best riders fall off like "rag dolls..." no one says THEY have a bad seat!
@Sassi0403 i totally agree, none of the riders knew how to ride i could have stayed on most of those falls and i could see half of them coming half a mile away! And when they do fall off they jab the poor animal in the mouth or kick it really hard or sumthing horrid! :(

The girl riding the black horse Is a REALLY bad rider. She got out of her stirrups and the horse got spooked & she was off balance for a little bit then she got balanced and just let her horse keep going when she was practicing. hello you stop the horse to calm him/her down, dont let them keep going!! and the girl riding a red roan she kinda randomly herself fell off without anything happening. My horse spookes WAY more than this and I rarely fall off. I get bad days but wow.

The first girl shouldn't have tried to land on her feet. =S Geez, 3:13 help the horse out! No wonder you go flying up. Your not in sync with the horses movement when it jumps and you flop back down, your not holding yourself well enough. The poor horse is trying his best there. =(
@LetsFlyOnceMore Mhm, At my stables we're taught "how to fall". It's called the tuck & roll; you protect yourself & hinder the posibility of breaking your back, neck, arms &/or legs. It makes falling "smoother". If you're headed towards the ground feet first, you don't want to TRY to land on your feet b/c you could snap a ligament or snap your kneecaps in half. =S You have to move with the impact by tucking & rolling where-ever you're headed; back or forwards, not against it. It's much safer.

It could easily jump the obstacle on it's own or with a smaller (as in shorter & weighed less(you apprently like specifics)) rider. Btw the jumps up to the pony's withers which = tall jump for pony.
@C00kieM0nster07 I disagree with your last statement- I've seen some ponies jump jumps higher than their withers (just watch some of the pony of the year shows). And same goes for horses- how do you think Puissance horses work?! Its similar muscles, just on a larger scale.

haha i was riding this horse finn today and we were GALLOPING to a jump (not cantering.. .GALLOPING) and he stopped and i half fell over his head and my stomach was on his head and somehow i managed to get in the saddle (without falling) and galloping away with no stirrups. PARTAY HARDEHHH!
I have fallen of myself, but never got caught in anything but my friend once got caught in the rein and drag after the horse so I kinda know how you felt, I almost got an heartattack watching my friend before she got loose...

@abeydou Wow. Apparetnly you need to actually get on a horse before you tell people who to ride. Its hard to keep balance if a horse refuses if you're riding right.
@Haileyandbuddy I ride yet 5 long years and jump over 1 year now. The horse what I jump thinks he must race to the jump and jumping short and high or long und high.
Oh and a shoolhorse what had jumped three times refuses a boxer to jump an I don´t fall off, because i sat at my bottom and keep my balance.

okay.. i am sorry but everything that happens here is rider error. even the horses refusing may be. and yes, it is common to lose your seat on a refusal but the horse is refusing for a reason. they are typically telling you they dont think they can do it safely and you should take the fence down a few holes before you try that height again. also... i can't believe all of these riders are sitting so early. your horse still has its hind end in the air... so you are causing the rear end knock downs

around the 1:00 mark, it's good to see riders that give with their hands. those who keep their hands back near the saddle don't realise they pull on their horses head, which can be the main reason they'll fall after a jump.

We have two small ponies like that at my farm, and we are allowed to ride them if light. @lilAzngi Ahahaha. I laugh. Yes, horses are not perfect. Alot of these falls were just bad riding or an accidental mistep. But horses are bred to have superb endurance and strength. Jumping over a few jumps with 120lbs on ther backs won't hurt them. Humans, however, do not have superb strength(with a few exceptions) and are not bred to do so. So yes, most people would fall over trying to jump with something on their backs.

Glad to here that no horse or rider were injured!
I know how hard it is to stay on when a horse decide to refuse, they kind of "disappear" from you and sending you flying forward...
If horses would take up their heads instead of lowering it we probably wouldn't fall of...
But it probably wouldn't be that fun if it was to easy :P
Really loved the white little pony that push the bar of the holder, to cute!

I have fallen of myself, but never got caught in anything but my friend once got caught in the rein and drag after the horse so I kinda know how you felt, I almost got an heartattack watching my friend before she got loose...

At 0:37 you schould had sat your bottom. Then hadn´t that happend.
That rider at the pony is to big and with this rider the ponys coudn´t jump this high.
To the falls can I only say "This must come so". You do you lean over too far. This is why you lost your balance when the horse refuse to jump.

@abeydou Wow. Apparetnly you need to actually get on a horse before you tell people who to ride. Its hard to keep balance if a horse refuses if you're riding right.

@Haileyandbuddy I ride yet 5 long years and jump over 1 year now. The horse what I jump thinks he must race to the jump and jumping short and high or long und high.
Oh and a shoolhorse what had jumped three times refuses a boxer to jump an I don´t fall off, because i sat at my bottom and keep my balance.
Yeah it´s right that´s not easy to hold the balance but it´s possible, because nothing is impossible.

umm wow this was a good vid but when that mini or whatever it was refused that jump no wonder!youe expect that horse to jump that seriously? it cant even jump that with out a rider but witha rider thats just stupid that horse showed you dont over jump or even over use them they get abused so much cause of stupid irders that think that they can do to much with them

okay.. i am sorry but everything that happens here is rider error. even the horses refusing may be. and yes, it is common to lose your seat on a refusal but the horse is refusing for a reason. they are typically telling you they dont think they can do it safely and you should take the fence down a few holes before you try that height again. also... i can't believe all of these riders are sitting so early. your horse still has its hind end in the air... so you are causing the rear end knock downs

around the 1:00 mark, it's good to see riders that give with their hands. those who keep their hands back near the saddle don't realise they pull on their horses head, which can be the main reason they'll fall after a jump.
and i laugh at these horses that run off after their rider has fallen. mine always stops and comes over to see if i'm okay. :)

I will admit some people fall off for good reason but a lot of these people fell off because their leg wasn't strong enough.

The rider at 2:06 was far too big for the horse, and taking it oevr far too big a jump. She fell like a rag doll. Geeze her seat is weak.

@MzRandomCommenter Smaller ponies like that aren't harmed if a tall rider is on them, it depends on the weight of the rider and how much the pony can handle. We have two small ponies like that at my farm, and we are allowed to ride them if light. I don't think it's right to be commenting on someone's seat, you don't know what level of experience they're at... I'm not trying to call you out, it just bugs me when people make comments without knowing all the facts (I know that I don't either)

you really need to work on your knee's if you falling of this much!
if you sqeeze your legs into the saddle, and only think that the horse is going to jump when its in tthe air!
i had this problem, and when my horse refused i fell straight of because i wasnt using my legs/ knees to sqeeze!

So what is the horses fall?! Its not like they can always jump over those things and not get tired! And besides with you people always sitting on them dont you think its heavy for them?! Man atleast consider how the horse feels when it has to carry YOU and jump over soemthing. If you had to carry someone and jump over that thing wouldnt you most likely fall over as well?

@lilAzngi Ahahaha. I laugh. Yes, horses are not perfect. Alot of these falls were just bad riding or an accidental mistep. But horses are bred to have superb endurance and strength. Jumping over a few jumps with 120lbs on ther backs won't hurt them. Humans, however, do not have superb strength(with a few exceptions) and are not bred to do so. So yes, most people would fall over trying to jump with something on their backs.
