  • Oh my god in Australia the crew are four and they would have had the fire out in half that time. Glad I live in Australia.

  • @kookaburra1952 ok well congradulations

  • FDNY the best in the world. Now compare this video to other vehicle fires here on you tube sit back and watch the amateur hour!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice vid quick work by the fdny as usual but id were a pack fuck in hailing that shit

  • not sure why but seemed to me these guys had a conference before putting water on the fire or was it smoko time verry slow had the line out at 37 seconds and water on at 2 minutes slow sorry

  • yeah i say take time to do it right and go home home after all in one peace. the car is burning the damage is done. why hurry up and get hurt for nothing?

  • Comment removed

  • no air paks lol

  • they dont use air on car fires.....what if they get another job on the way back no air=no work

  • thats when the extra air bottles on the rig come in handy

  • true

  • hey psp310 thats why they have a mask service unit and extra bottles

  • mask service unit almost never gets called out only to really big jobs they only got about 52 calls last year and they dont keep extra bottles on the rig if they do its not alot in the academy they are taught to not use air on car fires

  • are you kidding dude, your an idiot..first off took 2:22 sec to put water on it, 9 guys, and fucking 10 tools? thats a three person job. plus when you are on your hospital bed with CHF at 55 years old, I will be retired in hawaii surfing... have a good career rook

  • I know every department is different, but we always where packs if were going to be attacking a car fire, because we never know exactly what is burning, ie: magnesium, it's in a lot of cars and doesnt react well with water

  • a coulple weeks maye 1 month ago we ahd to call iin 3 to 4 other departments for multi structer fire... i drove by and man what a mess

  • Is that engine 243 or 253? Because engine 243 and Ladder 168 are stationed at the same house just wondering why they both wouldn't respond to the same call unless 243 had another call.

  • yes there is such thing as a working car fire and a working fire (10-75) and for ladder force the doors and to pop the hood

  • the pump doesnt have a set of irons to pop a hood? wow

  • There's no such thing as a "Working Car fire", it's either on fire or it isn't.

  • When the assignment goes out the units get it as a "report of a car fire" (don't know if its on fire or not) when the chief or, 1st units gets there it's confirmed as a "working car fire"

  • you send chiefs to car fires? must be slow

  • @BenHur76008 There is such thing as a working car fire.

  • @VFVFCo68 ...only to people who think it sounds cool on the radio to say it. If that's the then I guess I should have declared that porta-crapper that was on fire "work" to. Work isn't work until there's a second alarm, and it'd be pretty sad if you called a second alarm on a car fire. I see no point in wasting airtime on the radio to talk up the car fire.

  • @BenHur76008 Sounds like you have your own definitions that work for you, where I work, this would be dispatched as a working vehicle fire, and has nothing to do with 2nd alarm, it's not worth arguing about, just different ways different regions or size departments go about their business. Not everyone wants to act like FDNY, and I mean that with the utmost respect to them. Get there, get it done, get home safe!

  • Can someone explain why it took them almost 2 minutes to put water on the fire? I know it doesn't take long to put out but was hoping someone could explain? Thanks.

  • Yeah, it was getting painful to watch. That was way too long to get water on the fire. It just does not take that long unless there is some issue with either the pump or the Engineer.

  • i agree, everybody boast FDNY as only the best but i see a lot of shady as videos on here...

  • what shady videos do you see? i guess you know nothing about FDNY SOP and just wanna come on here and whine

  • your absolutely right...I have zero idea about your sop's.. that is what the discussion is here, way to many boys, tools, chiefs, and waaaaaay to long for water... Just look around, every other video is you guys being cowboys and "getting lucky" by not killing someone. Then as soon as someone dies, we wonder why. Just don't like seeing videos where everyone says how bitchen they are, when all it is, is our blue collar work.

  • Just get shit done, be safe, and come home to the family... not on here to do anything more than have good discussions...

  • 1)too many boys?- its an engine and a truck, engine to put water on the fire and truck to use the tools to open it up. 2)you say way too long for water and then we act like cowboys, ever think they are acting in a safe matter and taking there time, no life hazard no rush. take your time and do it right.

  • I guess it just takes 4 guys on my engine to handle it...nozzle, tools, pumper, and a capt as safety....we carry irons on our engines... and by cowboy, and being safe, I mean SCBA's! you aren't cool if you get cancer...the end

  • yes we carry irons on our engines too, but thats what the truck is for. and time is a factor and also acting in a safe manor too. Yes life is the first, not only the publics life but ours too

  • you keep refering to "protecting YOUR lives too.." But you still haven't identified why you are not wearing breathers?? please explain that genius methodology..... oh and by the way, when you are 32 and retire because lung cancer, well you will know why! Or are you guys immune to that too...

  • in addition...you say time is not a factor? what happened to the motto 1. Life 2. Property 3. Environment. Longer burning more of the owneres internal property being damaged. SOLID!

  • No but i guess it sounds like that. They asked me if i was the owner "are you the owner"

  • hey in the middle of the video did they ask HEY!. ARE YOU COLD? and then you replied NO. ???

  • Because the dispatcher thought it would look pretty. Think douchbag.

  • why the hell would a truck company respond to a car fire

  • Manpower maybe

  • They have tools

  • Bensonhurst Bravest baby!

  • Does anyone know why FDNY uses straight-bore nozzles vs. fog?

  • better 4 apartment fires i think

  • I see, thx.

  • Good Vid. quick knockdown.
