That's a classic clip from a great era. Yeah, the outfit Russell Mael is wearing was pretty normal for awhile in the 80s. Notice Thomas Dolby over to the right of Julie Brown. He's sporting the look that Mary Stuart Masterton used as "Watts" in the movie Some Kind of Wonderful. Still, Sparks and Thomas Dolby made great music. Thanks for the post onlyalad.

Perhaps that would explain why they 'short changedRon and Russ early (TVAM's 'yoof' presenter is desperately trying to keep Russ seated) however I suspect it was unsuccessful as I am pretty sure it would have been all over the tabloids (even in the 80's) ... I've been a fan of They Might Be Giants for quite a while... just recently heard and got into Sparks and I totally saw the influence right away on bands like TMBG and possibly Ween and other bands in the genre
