  • i dont understand how they do that at the beginning!simply.... phenomenal.

  • omg why are there so many santas? this is the scariest thing i have ever seen in my life

  • omg this is so scary. theylook like they are melting? ahhhhhhh i cant believe those are actually ppl

  • i miss this play, they changed the play so much since 2004 and it sucks cuz ive been watching the xmas spectacular everyyear since 1998 when i was 3 and they had this version of the play till 2005 and after they changed it and now it sucks

  • i made it into the top comments yes

  • i saw the radio city rockets back a few years ago with my parents.

  • seeing 50 santas might destroy the hopes and dreams of some little kid

  • @4LeafClover1098 no not really. The little kids pretty much know that it's not the real Santa. when i was younger, I even knew that and no body even had to tell me. But maybe that could also be because I loved theatre and was already performing in shows then so I kind of knew most of the aspects of theatre then?

  • Soo excited for christmasssss! Ahhh(:

  • This is my goal :)

  • more rubbish

  • scary seein all those santas up there lol

  • This is the art of chorus line dance at it's highest. Every year they stir anew the spirit of Christmas in so many of us.

  • i want to see this show sooo baddd

  • @JessesAngel the stage is hydrolic and it moves up and down it also has a section that can spin! :)

  • It's amazing. My Grandma lived 30 seconds away from where the Rockettes performed so she saw them almost every day! She's so lucky. I want to be a rockette so badly! 2 more years of dance and I can be one!

  • The thing at the beginning... I imagine that takes a huge level of trust... and their precision is never off... it's mesmerizing.

  • @sinnab0n

"..and their precision is never off"

Sorry to burst you bubble but their precision IS off. A lot more often than you think. I've seen Rockettes making mistakes in public performances: a wrong step, a wrong turn, missing out on a movement completely. With so many dancers on stage, things are BOUND to go wrong. Most audiences can't even spot the mistake if the dancers are moving together as a tight group or in several smaller groups. Audiences tend to watch the first row middle.

  • @kfor47 do you think any performance is ever perfect? There is always going to be something that's a little different in every performance. The rockettes are professionals though. In order to even be performing in New York City, you would of either had to have a natural talent with no mistakes, or YEARS of training.

  • tehehe all the santas make me smile :D

  • cool

  • My school goes to this show every freagin year, because the cablevision dude James Dolan, invites the entire school over there plus we meet everyone backstage and get free stuff its awsome.

  • i wanna be a rockette!

  • @salamisandwhich101 Get some legs like them and you're good to go

  • i see them every year :D

  • My dad is friends with a rocket so I get to see the show and go backstage and meet everyone its gonna be sooo cool!!!

  • OMG your so lucky. Ive always wanted to see them live. I would be the happiest person on earth if I got to see them.

  • That's just like me! My dad does spotlight for them every year. We usually go to the after party =]. It's awesome!

  • my dance team last year did a rockette style christmas routine and we did that falling thing...not as well but pretty good for 8th and 7th graders!

  • Thats alot of Santa's!!! <: ( ) )

  • I dont understand why, us as humans find lots of one thing .... so amazing :S

  • @clevm002 It's about the precision of their movements. 20 people in a row (or however many there are) wearing the same outfit... if one of them makes one wrong move it will stick out like a sore thumb. So it's about the perfection of each woman moving individually in concert with the others. :)

  • i was just at this a few hours ago for my first time it was AMAZING:)

  • both of my dance teachers have been rockettes and when i went to seen them we got a back stage tour the santa costumes are 50 pounds each and instead of being wood the floor is concreat so my teacher had to get knee surgery from dancing on it

  • were the rockettes the santa's?

  • yeah

  • The stage is made of concreat?

  • yeah its really bad to dance on

  • But in one of their christmas specials they use a trap door:S

  • The stage is not made of concrete. It is a regular stage. They just have microphones on their feet and plus there are 30 pairs of feet tapping its going to sound loud.

  • Merry Christmas

  • I just saw the 2008 show yesterday! and it is really beautiful and inspiring. This video is great, but in order to appreciate it you need to see it live. It is truely somethig to behold. The last scene with Christ's birth is magnificent. The whole show is. Thanks for posting this! :) Merry Christmans everyone!

  • omg i was at radio city a few hours ago! it was the first time i saw the christmas spectacular and i thought it was amazing. i love christmas! =D

  • I love this! I've been going every year for the last 10 years. The only thing that i miss from the show that they took out was the christmas tree number and the reindeer one that they had at the end. Those were always my favorites.
