We asked them about the negative claims made about them on the internet (calling it a scam) and they convinced us that it is just competition with other companies and they are just rumors. I just photoshoot3 weeks ago and they sent out pics toclothcoms. is it a scam??

@Doomcell3 Modeling classes can be good for building confidence in a group, learning how to apply make-up, etc. However there are so many other ways to do this for free. You do not need these types of classes to get with any agency. Graduating from one will not give you any advantage over any other girls that have not.
I ended up paying $800 for classes with Barbizon and have not been contacted by PMTM (Pro Model and Talent Management) for ANY work and it has been 3 months since "graduation".
@homshiba Actually it's a real school, It gets me jobs and it gets barely any percentage, I'm purely paying for classes and pictures. the pictures, they don't tell me i HAVE to get them there, but it's a choice.

I can also tell you that going to modeling school does not give you any "advantage" with agencies or clients... What modeling school can be good for is building your confidence in front of a group. However, there are many less expensive ways to get that experience :)

@ExploreModeling Lol you do need to go to a modeling school. Nobody can just go up and be all "hey, i wanna be a model!" There are certain signals you need to learn, you need to learn the proper way to walk or to dress. Agencies won't hire you if you become too difficult to work with or if it will take too much time to teach you. If someone already knows how they'll hire them over you.

@LindaBrasilera I am a graduate at Barbizon School many many years ago and i thought that was just a waste of time and money. Its soo not worth it. They teach you how to do runway but they suck. I even walk better than the instructors by watching modeling videos and shows on TV. They also told me they're gonna help me get work after i graduate but it never happend. So don't waste your money. That was a waste of $1500. You don't need modeling school.

@ShmulikCat Hey, I'm with John Casablancas, and I think they're great. Yes, you do have to pay at first for training, but that's because JC is for strictly training..and obviously, most places charge for classes. Once you go through training, you sign with MTM, who does not charge you for representation. I have been extremely pleased with John Casablancas!

@silentcomics, you need an agent for acting. It's a requirement for paid actors for even small studios. The scams are exactly the same as what was mentioned in this video. Make sure your agent is actually aggressive. Some are lazy or over booked with clients. If they have a 100 clients you might be pushed to the back of the line.

@sheyanmarie ITS A SCAM. One, Models Direct are one of the more well known scam companys. Two: PAY FOR ADVANCE (be it contract, portifollo, etc) INSTEAD OF PERCENTAGE OF EARNINGS IS ALWAYS A SCAM
daughter was asked to pay $1699 for classes and a photo shoot. I paid Chan International II in Edmonton ab. and found out from friends that as a company they are legally ok but only because they are a school as well I was also informed that they will ask for more money claiming she needs more "classes" to get ahead. So before my daughter went to any classes i returned to get my money back and the fine print says only 50% will be returned as well as a non refundable admin. charge.
i was with a modeling school and we did a photoshoot. The cost to buy them was $300. I didn't because I couldn't afford them, so they just gave me one free picture. Then, they wanted to use that picture for my com card. They gave me the number of a company that produces special kinds of pics (ex, modeling pics) and to buy around 30 pics for $60. I didn't call and buy the pics because I was already fed up with the amount of money they were asking me.
Then, the modeling agency tells me to pick up my pics and later, they sent me the bill. Is it right for them to charge me for something that i did not give authorization to? how could they sent me the pics BEFORE i even paid them?
i got offered to work with interface talent network. n they said i got wat it takes, but wen it came to pricing we had to pay 1500 $ for a photoshoot wit them. but im not rlly sure if i have to take a photoshoot wit them especally. Is that a SCAM. help!

@silentcomics, you need an agent for acting. It's a requirement for paid actors for even small studios. The scams are exactly the same as what was mentioned in this video. Make sure your agent is actually aggressive. Some are lazy or over booked with clients. If they have a 100 clients you might be pushed to the back of the line.

Hi, Have you heard of the Global Stars Network?? It's a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico and you are supposed to meet and have open calls with the top model agencies. I would just like to know if you've heard of it and if it's legitimate.

I was going to go on a contract with models direct but there telling me i have to pay like £128 for the contract for 3 years and they said the moneys to keep my pictures safe on the internet is this a scam then?

@sheyanmarie ITS A SCAM. One, Models Direct are one of the more well known scam companys. Two: PAY FOR ADVANCE (be it contract, portifollo, etc) INSTEAD OF PERCENTAGE OF EARNINGS IS ALWAYS A SCAM

daughter was asked to pay $1699 for classes and a photo shoot. I paid Chan International II in Edmonton ab. and found out from friends that as a company they are legally ok but only because they are a school as well I was also informed that they will ask for more money claiming she needs more "classes" to get ahead. So before my daughter went to any classes i returned to get my money back and the fine print says only 50% will be returned as well as a non refundable admin. charge.

Maybe try for Barbizon and I think runway model have to be 5"7" and up...

i was with a modeling school and we did a photoshoot. The cost to buy them was $300. I didn't because I couldn't afford them, so they just gave me one free picture. Then, they wanted to use that picture for my com card. They gave me the number of a company that produces special kinds of pics (ex, modeling pics) and to buy around 30 pics for $60. I didn't call and buy the pics because I was already fed up with the amount of money they were asking me.

Then, the modeling agency tells me to pick up my pics and later, they sent me the bill. Is it right for them to charge me for something that i did not give authorization to? how could they sent me the pics BEFORE i even paid them?

i got offered to work with interface talent network. n they said i got wat it takes, but wen it came to pricing we had to pay 1500 $ for a photoshoot wit them. but im not rlly sure if i have to take a photoshoot wit them especally. Is that a SCAM. help!
