  • Eek!

  • KILLER :(

  • Chuckie Egg!

On a Serious note, You can buy a brand new C64 PC on the Commodore Website, I'd rather do that than hack an original C64, Poor thing needed a good home and You betrayed it's trust and Killed it.

  • I just ordered a Keyrah interface. I would love to do this. Have you posted the instructions someplace?

  • just ordered a Keyrah the other day and then I found *this*

I have no idea where to get a motherboard that tiny, but I'll be damned if I don't at least try

    great piece of art

    love it!

  • @LordSanta78 Fantastic, hope the build goes well. I had to cut away sections of the C64 keyboard so that it would fit over the ITX board and fan. Try to get one as slim as possible as there's not much room in there!

  • Great video! That's the second Do It Yourself C-64X I've seen on the 'net and that's not including Ben Hacks work which is awesome too! Minor quibble, do you have a parts list for this (like the Keyrah interface board) or a direct link to such on your wordpress blog?

  • How do you get keypresses from keys that the C64 does not have?

  • @DevilMaster - The Keyrah interface board allows you to switch between the original Commodore keymap and Windows keymap (by flipping a toggle switch that replaces the original C64 power on/off button). So for example the C= key, becomes the Windows Key in 'PC mode'.

Obviously there's not 102 keys on a C64 keyboard therefore certain PC keys can only be accessed by pressing two keys together. I forget the exact specifics but the documentation that's supplied with the Keyrah is very concise.

  • Thanks crucie75, yep Mordi's ocean remix is one of my fav's

  • That is freakin sweet and great choice of tune too :)

  • Great idea....Mmmm Elite!

  • A great project. I am thinking of doing something similar with a BBC Model B computer.

  • @TheStiggy2010

how is that Amiga come along?

  • Hey man you're just GREAT!!! :O AWESOME!!!

  • Hi, nice conversion, what software did you use to convert the wallpaper colours?

  • @ucedac Hey there, glad you like it.

I took a couple of screenshots of various c64 games running in Vice64 and loaded them in Adobe Photoshop. Based on the screenshots I was able to create a colour palette and converted the Windows XP bliss wallpaper to use this new color palette.

  • Fantastic work. Saw this at RCM and I want one of my own.

  • Nice to see this up and running at the Retro Computer Museum Day last weekend. Superb work as always Stiggy.

  • nice work love it
