(3 of 3) I have found that this is actually impossible to wrap the mind around, but there's no way to prove it wrong or to say that it cannot be. Any given moment (in our experience) can be the only moment that ever existed. This can be imagined as the entire universe being created anew trillions of times per second, but that's not actually what it would be. There is ONLY now. If something is not Now, then it never really was. We are created NOW, along with memories leading up to that Now.
(2 of 3) And rather than being given access to different points of an eternal awareness in this moment, there Are no different points. Think about it. You're created, with all of your memories, Right Now. Then, you can say "well, this is ten seconds later, I must have been created again." But no. Then THAT is the ONLY time that you've been created, and within that creation there is of course a memory of ten seconds ago.
(1 of 3) This is great. I've thought about stuff like this all my life. In the last year or two I came to understand what you're talking about in this video, and in the last day or two a concept occurred to me that goes even one step further. I don't know if it's "true" or not, but it certainly could be. Basically, it goes like this: The Universe and all of existence is created Now. It wasn't actually there until this moment that we experience.
This has got me thinking: Time is a feeling of how long ago something was or how far into the future some event will be, at least that's how it is being human :D So the different information coming to us in the moment is filtered by the brain maybe? So someone is ten years old and fifty years old at the same time but that feeling of time distorts the reality of that? Movement is another distortion, hmm this is getting tricky!
We've gotta remember that a clock is just a motorized device...
I throughly enjoy watching this video over and over again, because it just clicks with me. I finally understand it.
To me, I always imagine one consciousness holding time in it's "hands" and watching it like a movie. It can fast forward, rewind and play it all at the same time.
We perceive reality such that there exists a difference between perception and perceiver. Reality is a perception and that which ultimately perceives reality is in itself not a perception.
The theory of the universe as a consciousness computer, I am aware of such philosophical argument, althoughI have not read a specific book upon this subject, I did once argue that the universe could be a quantum computer many years ago, I've also argued the existence of invisible space chickens, such things are highly speculative and hold no water
The LARGE HADRON COLLIDER is far more likely to hold real empirical data about time and space
Hi darrylsloan E=MC2 is quantum physics, classical physics is more Newtonian, calculus and such F=ma , it appears you have little or no understanding of either, you may wish to correct this oversight
My original point was your premise was factually philosophically and historically wrong
E=MC2 matter is energy, energy is matter known and proved, known Albert Einstein Sep 1905, proven Nov 20, 2008 France's National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)
Thus thee original matter in the universe known and proved, now ure in a bit of a pickle :-)
There is so much more to this "pickle" that you don't appear to be taking into account. I recommend a brief look at quantum physics for a start, and at the theory of the universe as a consciousness computer.
Questions: So because we (in this realm) live INSIDE of time, there is past, present and future, but if, like infinite onsciousness, you lived outside of time, because you know what is to come and what has 'passed', everything is 'present'.
At the moment, I'm starting to understand this in an even deeper way, not by reading anything new, but just by thinking about "memory" in relation to all this. Gonna cook up a video on this one soon. :-)
I find that randomness is impossible, because it contradicts the law of conservation of energy. A random thought would be a thought that came out of completely nowhere. Energy created without any being lost. And if we say that maybe God changed your reaction, or that your reaction came from another dimension the second time, then it's determinism we're talking about, because your reaction was caused by God or an influence from another dimension. ->
"Free will is like a byproduct of being stuck." I don't see how. We're stuck and we're still determined. If, after reading this comment and reacting in some manner, someone rewinded time, and you read it again, your reaction to it would be completely same, because all the factors set before your reading it were the same. If you say that your reaction would have been different, the only possible way that could have happened is if it weren't determined by anything - if it was random.->
Time revolves around us but not around God. If God is not stuck in time, this may not be something humans can comprehend at all. It's a confusing subject yet you make a good point.
Maybe instead of thinking "Did God create the universe?", we could say "Is God the universe/multiverse/omniverse?"
Would our concept of time exist if we didn't have a memory?
The original big bang particle had massive gravity which implies almost time standing still. Perhaps we still exist within that "God particle" and it is the process of creation/evolution that provides the appearance of expansion within that particle?
i was just thinking, telekinesis, are there any downsides to doing it because derren brown is always going on about how it is fake to put people off doing it even though he used it in one of his shows and if u or me can do it then so can he. There must be a downside to it if derren works so hard to make it look fake.
Derren Brown is a complete sceptic. The section of his book "Tricks of the Mind" about pseudoscience and the supernatural was the only real disappointment in the book.
If he did telekinesis on his show, you can be sure it was of the fraudulent variety. What Derren does may be amazing to behold, but I've been able to figure out a lot of his stuff, and he is simply the master of misdirection - and by his own admission.
He's not the man to consult if you're looking to find the real paranormal.

Time is the 4th dimension, and the 5th dimension is all possible outcomes of the 4th dimension.

We don't exist in the 'NOW' or eternity, nothing in this reality exists in eternity.
But IMO what is important is first recognizing your own situation before you even think about the universe.

i had another thought, as u said, time is like u recieving data or sumthin and u interpret it as time, so what does that mean if u were to stop time?

Mmm, well, remember there is only NOW. The only thing that exists is a single moment. How do you stop a single moment? It isn't moving. :-)
