Greame, the driver of the Tour bus, is genuinely a very sincere guy. I had to laugh though at his short legged attempts at actually getting into the vehicle. Cheers Darren ex Daintree Hideaway.
i ve just come back from visiting the daintree ... it was such a fantastic place. Great fun playing catch the greesy pig at alexander bay sports and social club A.B.S.S.C
we stayed at crocadylus the locals have sutch a nice community spirt
Hi, sound is of a Tdi, air intake is on right side: 300Tdi it is. (My 200Tdi: inlet on left side). In 1st Low Range 200Tdi will already pull at least its own max weight: 3000+ kg force, 300Tdi 265/255 times higher (300Tdi has 265 Nm torque). 1st Low at max engine torque puts very high strain on final drive (slightly spinning wheels of the 300Tdi)..
I agree with kbc4wd. Nice bit of Landy work but soooo lucky no-one was hurt! And that bus driver is supposed to be a professional. Probably recommended they all take a quick dip in the Daintree river too.
what a dickhead driver, I drove 4x4 buses for 7 months crossing creeks 5 feet deep and through hundreds of kays of black soil and never got stuck, I laugh at people calling the daintree 4x4 territory, you can go up there in a bloody old falcon and not get stuck. If they wanted some 4x4ing head up the CREB track. At least its slippery and steep in places
the funny thing about this video is the bus had a winch. why even hook to the land rover. couldnt he have just ran it to the left side of the road to a tree and pulled himself out
Have any of u idiots ever actualy been to daintree i live there whatever prat was driving needs to take a driving license again, thats not 4 wheel driving, geez, its not even flooding STUPID TOURISTS
All I've got to say is it was just bloody silly to park in that steep/deep of a ditch 4wd or not. Even less brilliant to cock the steering at such a hard angle. Lucky no one was hurt when the cable popped loose. Go Landy.
Land Rover indeed ...

2 bloody idiots, snatching on winch cable, why?
good example of what not to do.
even more bizarre why they didn't pull it backward - looks downhill that way.

That could'a been a tourist harvest. Nothing like standing next to a taut tow-line that, well, just might hold.
Wow, awesome brainpower at work; or more dollars than sense.

Why does the 4x4/2x4 debate get people so worked up? It's only about transmission :)

I agree
Even the Cairns Regional Electricity Board track is tame these days.
I would have pulled the guy out from behind but i wasn't there so i can't really comment.
Anyway, tracks on the cape are mostly lame unless you want to venture into the real unknown, eg, west coast cape york

This should be an ad for Land Rover - pulling that bloody bus out. Agree with fattpieceofcrap - hook onto a tree nearby and try it himself.

Nice, I love how he drove over the tarp and the bus came out of the ditch. Too funny.

That's pretty cool. Well done, getting stuck is part of the fun of 4wdriving!

Getting stuck in a ditch on the side of a road is not 4wding.... how many unsafe practices can you spot in that video??

The driver was a local man

The driver was trying to avoid another vehicle coming the opposite direction when he went too far over to the edge of that road.
