Unbelievable footage. I doubt very seriously the majority of cruise ship passengers have ever experienced anything quite that serious. It would be something to write home about, if you could even write!

Looking at 00:26 on the film she seems to be 40 degrees heeled over which would in normal circumstances be extremely close to the limits of her righting moment (coming back up). Most ships can survive angles up to 40 - 50 degrees of heel without problems. Although, I can tell you without fear that whatever the actual angle is, it will feel like double that onboard.

Hazarding a guess, and since I work on these beauties I would make a general assumption that the ship has suffered a black out (power loss). This would affect not only the lights, but the navigation as well... hence no power to steer and no way of ploughing through the seas in a stable manner.
