To be honest they had harder questions than is normal without many other possible answers, sometimes there are 3 or 4 easy answers to find but "something you buy sliced" apart from bread there cant be many other possible answers so cakes isn't that bad.

It is! I know however that America has their version of Family Fortunes called 'Family Feud' or something.

You are correct about that. The concept for the show was actually created in America. However, the original host of the American version was born in England, Richard Dawson.  He hosted from 1976-1985 and 1994-1995.

Les confused the Singh-Rauds' score with what they needed - when he said they needed 98 he must have meant 102, since 98 was what they had scored at that stage. So technically they'd lost even before the last answer was revealed, but in reality long before that.
