@noobkingramsley Anderson Silva is 36, and Dan Henderson is 41, and they are not slowin down. Age definitely doesn't have much to do with losing, lots of great fighters are over 30 and are still doing great. I just hope he's around long enough to see him fight in the UFC.

@noobkingramsley I wouldn't count on every fighter retiring at 40-45, if you look now, a lot of fighters are beginning to retire around Fedor's age, that mid-30's age. Fedor isn't getting worse because of his age physically, I just feel like he has lost the desire to do it, which is a common problem when fighters reach those mid-30's. Physically, Fedor is still in his prime, but mentally, Fedor is old and tired. This has happened to many fighters, more recently Mirko Cro Cop.

1) I simply think he is too much of an honest and fair fighter to enter into roids (more my 'intuition' telling me that)
2) Fedor doesn't have the body of a guy on roids at all. Looks very natural and continues to look very similar now.
3) His losses could of happened at any time in his career: 1. Caught by good jujitsu, 2. a huge 300lb guy got on top and 3. was momentarily stunned by a punch that the ref had to end
@AVJRoutledge not all roids make you bulk up - has a lot to do with the type of workouts you do also (like pitchers) - I was a "go heavy go home" gym rat for years and seeing so many ppl lift changed my perspective on what strength looks like - there's a "flexible tightness" and "slim bulk" in Fedor's frame that lessened noticeably and with it his power IMO.

Fedor is such a special fighter. No one has come before who is like him, and probably no one will come after. His focus, speed, ferocity, strength, striking, and determination were all incredible. He didn't give a shit about judges; he went out to FINISH fights: something all guys in the UFC can learn from. I am writing a book about Fedor, hopefully to be published. Controversial topics for discussion on Fedor for hardcore MMA fans:
1. Steroids were clearly used by many Prife FC fighters by anyone with a trained eye. Has anyone else wondered if the tremendous decrease in Fedor (who I love not only as a fighter but role model/ ambassador for the sport) was due to coming off them?
2. I love Mark Hunt so may be biased - but I think he had the best chance of beating Fedor in pride.
Thoughts?

@sudokcd Interesting idea on the Fedor on steroids, but it doesn't work...
1) I simply think he is too much of an honest and fair fighter to enter into roids (more my 'intuition' telling me that)
2) Fedor doesn't have the body of a guy on roids at all. Looks very natural and continues to look very similar now.
3) His losses could of happened at any time in his career: 1. Caught by good jujitsu, 2. a huge 300lb guy got on top and 3. was momentarily stunned by a punch that the ref had to end

@AVJRoutledge not all roids make you bulk up - has a lot to do with the type of workouts you do also (like pitchers) - I was a "go heavy go home" gym rat for years and seeing so many ppl lift changed my perspective on what strength looks like - there's a "flexible tightness" and "slim bulk" in Fedor's frame that lessened noticeably and with it his power IMO.

@sudokcd His strength is certainly well above average for his weight/size, but not unnatural. The ’bulk’ he's acquired for several reasons, one is strength. But it also depends what your talking about when you mention ‘roids’ - do you mean to say all performance enhancing drugs?
Either way I still think he is too much of a guy who is focused on just pure fighting (fairly) and just enjoying the sport than he is about winning (and cheating to win) you can tell that in the way he speaks about it.

Fedor is greatest MMA fighter to and he will always have that legacy. It hurts me to see him lose but i guess age and time catches up with everyone, even the best. I'd really love to see him fight again because i think he's still very skillful. But if he decides to retire, he'll still the greatest mma fighter to me and i'll always love and respect him because of the intensity he fights with, the respect he shows fighters, and his humility.
