I was reluctant to pick this game up before it shipped. It does look cool but the semi-dealbreaker was the focus on naval combat. Is there any ground combat in the game that the player has control over? (Even if the combat is abstract in nature.) Can one - for instance - take one's colony (for example, Jamestown) and attack one's neighbors by land? I can't tell from the descriptions on GamersGate.

@maxiboyhyper Well Russia didn't have a colonial history in the Western Hemisphere like the other powers did; that seems to be the focus of this game so it wouldn't be accurate to have them in the game.

Denmark. People often mistake the dutch influence, when the danish pressence were much bigger and influential. The only reason that games like these use the dutch is that today the dutch still have a colony where as Denmark has sold them off, all of them.
