On your Mac, in System Preferences >> Sharing , ensure "Remote Management" is enabled. Then in the GNU "Terminal Server Client" on Ubuntu, enter the IP address of the Mac in "Computer", and Protocol is "VNC", set your username and password.

computer ?... can i use local ip address? like 192 168.x.x
and what protocol did u use?
user name?>
pass?
domain
host name?
