so, Monica is Aleister's great-great granddaughter, or am i off by a generation or 2? yeah, that was a cheap shot, but the McCain campaign is such a joke right now that it doesn't really need any help making fun of itself.
What exactly was suspended? His surrogates, his campaign offices, and his running mate conducted business as usual. His campaign was in trouble and he ran to Bush and got Bush to set up the meeting at the White House so they could insert McCain into the picture. No one bought into it but his own base, and w/ out making the gambit work to force delay of the VP debate, the theatrics didn't work in his favor. He ended up right where he started, and again looked incapable of even organizing himself.
McCain was away from DC for 5 months so what the hell did he do, he did not suspend his campaign, he and Obama came back because Bush asked them to. McCain is not the Savior to come in on his Maverick horse and save the day, he went to the mettings sat there and did and said nothing. This was simply a stunt. His ego is writing checks his feeble mind and aging body can't cash.
McCain came back because the Republicans asked him to and Ds wanted Obama there. Actually Dick Morris thought it was a brilliant move--until the debate and then said McCain owed it to people to explain why he "suspended" his campaign since he didn't offer an alternative which should have been a populist one--insurance and loans to finance the rescue package.
I am voting McCain but there is no denying he fumbled the ball and Obama intercepted it for a TD.
I'm not voting McCain, but looking at the tactics and where his campaign stood at that moment, he had three chances to post gains. 1)The statesman angle, 2)Picking up credit for a critical save at the bailout talks (real or not), 3)Delaying the debate which could have delayed the VP debate and given Palin more time to sort out the blur of index cards in her overloaded head. Result: 1)A statesman wouldn't have staged the theatrics, 2)No credible credit claim, 3)Checked at the blue line by Obama.
Monica, I have a suggestion for you.
Stick to getting your nails done and hair bleached.

The reason why Barack Obama went back to DC was because the president requested his presence at that meeting in the Oval Office.

There was no rescue...MCCain didn't do a damn thing while he was there, he didn't even bloviate... It was a stunt of the worst kind.
SAvvy? he looked like an asshat. God these people are pathetic.
OBama's proposals which were stated within 24 hours of Paulson's melt down... are what was adopted.
Point me to ONE thing that McCain proposed that made it in... It was RIDICULOUS.

Monica is always completely full of crap. McCain had pulled this stunt before, starting in 1999. Complete nonsense.
