well Judge Milyan is 100% correct in her decision...despite the fact i believe the plaintiffs were sold inferior and defective merchandise, the merchant still gets 1 shot to repair and/or replace before giving a refund. And we ALL know the REAL reason why u didn't state your company's name on TV....it's because you didn't want to have the whole country knowing you sell crap furniture, that's why!
I'm sorry, it's just how I am, but...I always feel bad for the plaintiff when they lose since they're the ones whom took it this far. Whether they're lying, exaggerating, or whatever, I just can't help but feel bad for them when they lose.
I have to give credit to judges. I just could NEVER do what they do.
The chairs keep breaking because it is cheap ugly crappy furniture. She should get her money back and buy from another store and check it out more thoroughly.
@kahlos76 Tough shit. That is my opinion. If the owner is so delicate about her furniture choices she should never have gone on national TV. Case closed. And it is God awful crap, even garbage men would refuse to haul it away brand new.
@cmcardle Well I didn't exactly ask that question right, of course you met her - you were the defendant! But what I meant was did you get to speak with her after the show or anything?
@cmcardle Hah, no I didn't. She came in (and went out) the same door in the video. I was the first case and about 15 seconds after I exited, they started a new case (so I'm assuming she made her re-entrance) I did spend a few minutes with the guard (shrug) he was very nice, everyone was nice! :D
@bastlouis; She received everything brand new in a box, it wasn't defective, it broke after 4-5 months of use. That's not anybody's fault, not the retailer, not the manufacturer, not the customer. Things break. It's part of life and the retailer offered a replacement which she declined, then she was offered a full store credit, which she also declined. We're all adults here, there's no need to scream and run away crying when you don't get your way (or in this case, go to court)
I'm saying this jokingly so please don't take it personal. I'm NOT lQQKing to get into an argument with ANybody. On top you write that the customer broke the dining room set but in the comment section you respond that NObody broke it that things break on their own. Well which one is your opinion? :-D
@kalmanizer Well, it's exactly what I said. The customer claims she bought it "broken and defective" which is not the case. Saying that the customer purposely broke it is wrong also, I don't believe they sat there one day and decided to break it :D Things do break on their with everyday wear and tear, it's a fact of life for anything. But, I mean, if you want me to point the finger then, I can, because I don't know what they did to cause the breakage. But what's the point in that? ;)

I think they found a better deal, and they damage the furniture on purpose.
So they could get their money back! If he offered to replace it, or store credit and they said no, then something up?

i find the judge a little too unsure when she talks, she doesn`t have the confidence judge judy has.
she seems to make it up as she goes along and it shows.

@TheSkylur44 The customer's allowed to make her own decisions, calling what she chose "ugly" is just rude to her and her decision making.

Just wondering...if you felt so sure about your defense why did you not disclose your business name? Seems like free advertising to me.
