  • hey im making a tutorial on how to create and install custom textures for source games and i was wondering if i could use this for one or multiple of the fast forward parts. just asking :)

  • @RealStupidTV Yeah sure :)

  • @3kliksphilip thanks, really :) finding good music to use is really hard! :)

  • This is "techno" to people who don't know what techno is. You know, the kind of people who call Darude and Basshunter techno? Yeah, those people lol.

  • @IEatHarlots don't try to class my songs, I make what I think sounds good. You're taking it the wrong way if you're trying to class this song as a specific genre. Plus I like Basshunter.

  • @3kliksphilip I rest my case lol.

  • @IEatHarlots You're one of those noobs who thinks that your opinion is fact and everybody elses is wrong. It shows how little you know.

  • @3kliksphilip Lol what opinion did I give in this video? My "opinion" that this isn't techno? It's not lol thats a fact =p music genre isn't an opinion

  • @IEatHarlots I don't know if you're aware of this, but you appear to have no social skills what so ever. You come on here and attack random people, then try to justify it by claiming that you know all and everybody else is clueless. I suggest you brush up on your social skills.

  • @3kliksphilip News flash: You don't need social skills to post comments on YouTube so I'm just fine with no social skills thanks. Now let me give you a suggestion: Brush up on your music making skills. Btw, nice job avoiding the point I made. Nothing to say to that I guess?

  • @IEatHarlots Okay, I'm sorry. Perhaps you could help me to improve my music by offering me useful bits of advice? What's so wrong with the music that I make?

  • @3kliksphilip Ok, Like I said, your melodies and backing tracks are decent... But it's mixed very poorly and the sounds your using are pretty poor as well. I can barely hear the kick drum. Try finding better kick drum samples online (you can find free ones) and remember that the kick doesn't always have to be the lowest instrument. If you EQ out the very bottom end of the kick drum (saw below 100 -150 hz) your kick would stand out in your mix more instead of drowning in a mess of low frequencies

  • @IEatHarlots Thanks. If you listen to my song called 'Insomnia' you'll find more focus on the drum. With this song and Atomic Amnesia I started with more of a beat then removed it because it drowned out the melody, which I value far more highly than the drum beat. That is why it is so discrete in this song. This was the first song I made using more professional instruments and I had to try and maintain the same style of songs that I used to make. That involves an emphasis on melody over drums.

  • @3kliksphilip Yeah I understand what you're saying and everything but thats why the EQ and compressor are so important. If you use the EQ to cut out notches in the kick drum frequencies where the melody sound's frequencies are most prevalent, you'll have a kick drum that stands out more but doesn't overpower the melody and instead works with it.

  • @IEatHarlots So how do you know all of this? Have you ever made any music?

  • @3kliksphilip Yeah I've had a lot of practice making electronic music because I'm terrible at playing real instruments lol. I spend most of my free time studying the effects of different synths and plug-ins and I have a LOT of free time as you've probably guessed lol.

  • @IEatHarlots ...but have you ever finished any of them? This is important. I have now finished 23 songs, and I can happily listen through each of them and enjoy them for what they are. I started very simple and have slowly worked up, and because of that I have finished the songs. The ones I enjoy least are ones where I have tried something out of my depth, and because of it, it lacks soul. Those are the ones that age worst, even if I'm most pleased with them at the time.

  • @IEatHarlots I'm just saying this because you sound a bit like I am with computer game and map making. I have an idea in my head of what the final outcome will be like, and I hardly ever finish anything because they never live up to my expectations. I have nothing to show for all of those years I spent experimenting. With music, I'm not naturally talented, but I've enjoyed myself more and have more to show for my work because I actually finish stuff. Once again, have you completed anything?

  • @3kliksphilip I've finished numerous songs a long time ago but as I got better, I started to like them less so I don't put them up on YouTube lol. All my projects that I really like are unfinished.

  • @IEatHarlots Eep. If what you say is true, then you're a much better musician than me. Technically, at least. But dude, you've got to start again. Work up from a basic level, or you'll never have the basics under your belt and you'll end up producing half finished stuff for ever, and you'll never have anything to show for all of your skill and experience! I'm not saying this in a horrible way. It gets harder and harder to learn the basics, the more you learn about a subject.

  • @IEatHarlots I used to flame and hate people for making simple, boring, generic games. I was capable of a lot more, I'd see what they had made and I'd diss it because I knew that if I had access to that game they had just made, I could make it technically far better. I now cringe at my comments I posted. Although they made simple stuff, I had nothing decent to show, apart from some tech demo things that had no real value what so ever. For your own sake, start simple and produce some cool stuff.

  • @3kliksphilip Hey man. I like it! :D. If you wanna hear the song I made you can check my channel. Tell me what you think plz :)

  • @3kliksphilip I feel like starting off making stuff thats beneath me wouldn't really be much use. Theres enough mediocre stuff out there without me adding to it. Thats why my songs have to be perfect before I upload them. In my first comment, I didn't mean to put down your music btw, it's just that I didn't know you were the one who made it. I usually don't really critisize people's music (unless they're assholes like myself) but I had already made the comment so I had to stick by it I guess lol

  • @IEatHarlots Fair enough. I'll take what you say into consideration, I've made 3 albums so far and each and every one of them is a large step up from the last. Currently making songs for my 4th, and my higher standards make it much harder to finish the songs. I'm also using stereo sounds for the first time in this album. Working up slowly, you see ;) I'll use what you've said for my fifth album, always nice to have something I know I can improve on. You really should try starting simple again.

  • @3kliksphilip Alright sorry for this whole arguement lol. To make it up to you, I'll mix one of your future songs if you'd like. Or you could do it yourself which is better cause thats how you learn... But the option is there lol anyways ttyl

  • @IEatHarlots Thanks, I'll think about it :)

  • @3kliksphilip that was the best internet argument ive ever read

  • @3kliksphilip (continued from last post) As far as the sounds go, try experiementing a little to get more interesting synth blips. Adding delay could help a little but I'm talking about the core sound itself. Also, try not to use arp's so extensively. At 1:31 you should EQ out that harsh freq. from the sound there. Also, if you don't know how to use compressors, you should learn because they're essential in creating good mixes. Try making your sounds (bass, lead, arp) sound different from each

  • @3kliksphilip (continued again) other. They sound like you're using almost the same sound for each of them except on different octaves (theres some exceptions but I'm talking about the entire song in general). Also, it wouldn't hurt to make your bass sound a little lower. At certain points in the song it sounds more like an annoying hum than a bass.

  • I really like this song. It has a nice techno/new age-ish theme to it. You make really good music.

  • @KiroSan1 Thanks

  • Listening to this song without the video isnt the same. Its something about that face, man.

  • @TeddyBearAssassin Beautiful, isn't she?

  • 3kliksphilip most awesome youtube guru ever been!

  • @123jonnydark FL Studio 8

  • how much does it cost??

  • @123jonnydark Google is your friend

  • lol

  • Google is your friend

  • I'm thinking you should use this song in one of your games! Oh and by the way, I wanted to download your Santa game but your site comes up with the 501 Internal error....

  • Yeaaaaah boy!! reminds me of when i got into a fist fight with a jellie fish.....

  • for me, this song is, like "mehh"

  • Why? And what about the other two?

  • @3kliksphilip that is a very difficult question! hmmm.. firstly, i think i would prefer a larger variety of note lengths (longer notes). Also, i might prefer a bit more feel of structure in the song. Also, the notes sound a bit "random" to me... but please, I think its probably better to make music that you want to make, instead of listening to people like me!! :D

    all the best!

  • hi im philip be my freind :P lol

  • Epic!!

    Stuck in my head :D

    GREAT WORK!!!!

  • Good job bro..... couple of questions if u dont mind... what program do u use? What keyboard do u have?

uhhh thats about it... let me know...

    thanks

  • I don't have a musical keyboard, I place all of the notes with my mouse.

  • ?!? lol..

  • nice song!

I'm just wondering, but do you know everything there is to know about computers?

  • What makes you think he dose? learning to use programs is one thing but that certainly dose not mean he knows a lot about computers.

Learning about computers is being able to pull one apart and put one together.

  • I pull apart computers and rebuild them again for FUN

  • indeed.

  • porn music :x

  • Guess where the face came from ;)

  • @OnceExisted

    GRANNY porn music! :D

  • is that ur granny phil?

  • I'm not saying whose body it is, but let's just say I got them posing in the garden on my swivel chair, with a paid of headphones on and a plate in their hand.

And as for the face... well, just google 'orange ass FM14' and click on the first result that comes up

  • never trusting your searches again, googled that and saw a woman with an orange in her ass... ugh, thats gonna haunt me for a while

  • That's the only place that you can get people looking as happy as the one on the front of Granny's Spaghetti...

  • Hahahahahahahahah

  • =D looking forward to hearing more!

  • nice lol, really cool sound, would love to hear it in a game lol

  • why'd you call a pretty nice tune, Granny's Spaghetti? lol

  • It reminded me of a spaghetti western and the sound at the beginning is called Granny's Radio
