@jonnyzx2 All in all. bout 5k rough guess. I built this setup over time and alot of the work i did myself. I built the turbo kit and did all my own engine work with the exception of the machining. Gude performance did the head and i will never use another company for zx2 head parts ever again. All the rest as far as im concerned are not good enough. Im actualy getting ready to put this car back on the road with in the next 8 months. Probably gona set it up for auto x roughly 280WHPor so

@jonnyzx2 The zx2 doesnt need springs unless you plan on twisting over 7200 with a custom tune from an sct dealer or with an aftermarket standalone system. It revs up there pretty well. I never had a need to go higher then 7500. Making a fuel and timing map for a tuner that is new to a zx2 is a pain in the ass but not out of the scope of possibility

@frzx21987 The gude head pacakge goes for about 1200 w/echange its well worth the money. Iv been dealing with Gude for 10 years now and im very happy with everything they do. Their turbo kit is great for the street but if you wana go fast like my car you have to go way above their kit. All my stuff was custom made. Custom ground cams by gude custom turbo kit i made myself. the car made over 400 wheel b4 i moved on.

Zx2's never came turbo from the factory not even the s/r edition only thing it had was sportier suspension cold air intake and headers i believe with 17" wheels

Not entirely. S/R's had Tokico struts with Eibach springs, a cold air intake, 15" wheels, a short shifter, Borla exhaust, and the PCM was programmed a little hotter.

I get tired of people assuming that a granny shift is only reason why Escort outruns a Evo/STi, and I think the Escort made the bad shift IMO. Awesome build man good work. The ZX2 has way more potential than given credit for, and turbo ZX2's are very uncommon btw. As for crappy interiors, they are just designed sportier than necessary, mine fits like a glove, not a lazyboy lounge chair.

Just fully build a 2.0 liter zetec and boost the crap out of it, you could get like 400+ horses out of one and you can get the escort down to about 2000 lbs but you would need to build a really good transmission. all that would cost you about 7 grand if it's a nice clean setup but you could do it crude for about half that price

the motor is full built its still fwd that trip it made 305 whp and i drove it there. i was using 26x8x15 hoosier slicks that were about 2 years old. So id say it worked i was running 22 psi on a percision sc44 turbo.
