Titanic. What can I say about that ship. I know some people might think ''It's just a ship, an object, decaying under the sea and later we won't remember it.'' but, for some people it's more than that. Okay, I know it's a ship, an object, decaying under the sea and it'll be gone forever. No, not gone forever. It will always live in our memories. It was the greatest ship ever, the most beautiful as well. It was sad that it sank on its first trip, but people don't realize how it changed us...
Titanic was one of the accdients that if it never happened things would be changed. Titanic was the GREATEST ships EVER made, Titanic was the BIGGEST ship wreck EVER know. Titanic showed that some times things that great have a price if you dont act in time. People paid the price for things that could have easly been changed. Again, Titanic was one of those things that if it never happened, other things would not be the same...
@tarek12mig maybe i misunderstand what you meant but 700 people survived the sinking.. The last woman alive was just a baby when she was on the Titanic.. But she died too...
Would be cool to see them build an exact replica of the Titanic and put in on display. Would cost a lot of money, but we're spending 1 billion dollars a day on a war in Iraq 75% of Americans don't approve of, so use one day's worth of money to build this magnificant ship again so we can see just how grand she really was for her time.
All I can say, Titanic will be the most elegant ship for probably another century. QM2 and all those modern ships will not reach the elegant sea vessel standards of the 1900s. May Titanic rest in peace. (Or pieces if you recall that she broke in two and theirs 4 square miles of debris scattered)
A lot of people thing its funny but it is not because it some peoples boreual ground. That is so sad i would risk my life be sides there life and then i would not be writeing this
even trough todays standards, shes one of the biggest ships ever, now thats an achievement, oh.. and much more beautiful then any queen mary 2 or those modern crap
is the captain's fault that the ship hitted the iceberg.... he said " full throttle"... which means if the ship dint go that fast, they would have time to turn and miss the iceberg... =(
@diaztchris57 If anything the only chance they had of avoiding the iceberg was keeping the engines at full throttle and applying full left rudder. It is argued that one of the many fatal mistakes was throwing the engines into reverse, as this far reduced the undersized rudder's authority to steer the ship.
He did not say full throttle, as a matter of fact he stopped the engine. In all actuality, if the captain would have sped the titanic up they might have missed. More speed gives it the ability to turn faster.
in the back of the ship was the food in a kind of refrigerator that is explode by the pressure of the water that is why the back of the ship is so poorly recognizable
Le TITANIC fut et sera toujours le plus beau des bateaux.Paix aux ames et immense respect pour ceux qui ont péris dans cette catastrophe.J aurais vraiment aimé voir ce superbe bateau pour de vrai!
The Captain had gone to bed and the nightwatch was on when Titanic struck the iceberg. The captain can't be faulted for something that happened when he was sleeping. I think it was very noble of him to go down with the ship, even though it wasn't his fault. Wanna blame someone? Blame whoever was out on the crow's nest, they should have seen it coming.
On a moonless night as that night was believed to be, I bet CRAZY flood lights were saving grace for adequate rerouting of such a massive floating object..
i agree she was a beaughtiful ship i dont think there will ever be a ship like her again so sad all those people who died because there were not enough lifeboats plenty of lifejackets but not enough lifeboats it was durring a time when it was believed that technology reined supreme over nature
@Chelseaa1905 Yes, about another 470 could have theoretically been saved. However, had "Titanic" been full on that fateful night, an extra 1,300 souls could have been stranded lifeboatless on the decks of that behemoth. I'm convinced that even if "Titanic" had not struck that berg, another similar-sized ship would have had to go down to shake the complacency of that period to its foundations. It's the only way humans learn, sadly.
@titanic5577 :your right they named it as "unsinkable ship" but the other replied " God can sink that ". I'm sad and i'm dissapionted cause the largest ship sink. Titanic has great and has historical items inside ,all the most powerful and riches person and has a great design and for them it is the first ship that has radio and different items .But then all of that disapeared in just 4 hours .How sad it is, may all the person died rest in peace .For me this is the great tradegy of al tme
@titanic5577 "during a time when it was believed that technology reigned supreme over nature" < yes, not too unalike 100 years later. Technology was also supposed to have kept Air France 447 out of harm's way last year over the Atlantic, and yet again, it didn't. Time and again Nature loves to remind us who's boss.
its just simply sad... so many life rafts there, and is it true only one came back for survivors? sad... tragic,... humanity needs a shake... Maybe not all could have been saved, but more than were... People, lets not repeat this shame of selfish fear. Lets help others when at all possible. I pray I would have been one to say 'lets go back'...
I dont think it could stand being raised...it would be totally ruined anyway and could not withstand the change. Its been sunk for decades longer then it was ever a floating ship so I hope it doesnt happen. But to see more inside would be cool.
The Titanic, the flagship company White Star Line, sank on April 15, 1912 off the coast of Newfoundland. It took the lives of 1,500 people. On that night, social classes did little to decide who had to die and who is not. Being rich or poor had nothing to do in the crowd scenes of heroism (and cowardice, why not say so) that were observed at that unfortunate ship.
they hit the berg on purpouse cause they knew it whoudlnt sink, and so when they told every one its sinking and when they thought ppl whould be off the ship they whould steal the riches of 1st class but they hit it to hard and they actully did sink.
As a member of the Titanic Historical Society, I will lay that lie to rest right now... The iceberg was NOT struck on purpose and there was no plan to steal from First, Second or even Third Class passengers! That fabrication was either of your own creation or some idiot who can't read history books!
its really horrible how it sank...and how many people died! if only theother ships would have kept the moneders or somthing on,everyone would have lived!
I think it might be closure to some family members of Titanic's fall to see how nice the ship is but, the Queen's boat she married on is like it. Most said let it r.i.p

She means many things. She was unfortunately navigated by idiotic hands. She could be a magnificent naval museum today teaching us technology luxury and safety (pool, turkish bath, barbershop, gym and don't forget that she remained on marine surface for almost 4 hours with a big crack on her side).A real legend!
Actually, she stayed afloat for 2 hour 40 minutes before sinking. And she wasn'nt sunk by a huge gash, the iceberg just glided along the forward section of hull, the force causing weaker rivets to pop of, letting water in until Titanic couldn't hold any more, and went down at 2:20 AM on April 15. RIP Titanic and all the unfourtunate souls that went down with her.
yeah it's almost 3 hours and not 4 that i wrote. About the damage allthese are pure guesswork because titanic doesn't give answers about that at the position and situtation that she remains at the bottom after crashing there. At least this is the impression by watching the "ghosts of abyss" and reading "titanic an illustrated history". No matter what it is written here titanic remains in history as the shipbuilding pioneer
Most of the men who died who worked in the engine rooms were from Southampton, so everytime there is Titanic Remembrance day in my city we are reminded how many people we lost as a community. Everyone knew of someone who died on the shipp in 1912. it's very sad indeed.
I personally believe the ship could of been saved and all of those unfortunate people too, if it had just ordered to all stop and hit the iceberg bow first for it would of only damaged the first 3 compartments at the worst, but thats only my guess.
I totally agree, that has been discussed before and although alot of people would of been hurt, I dont think the ship would of sunk, but would have had severe loss of life and who knows what would have happened, as we dont know the shape of the iceberg. And we will never know. I think she could of survived and who knows if she would of been repaired had she hit head on?
true, we will never know. but although it may sound wrong, the sinking of titanic has helped save thousands more from what everyone learned about safety for ships.
do you know many ships that still exist under a pressure of 3.5 tons per square inch for 96 years? Titanic is a magnificent naval overshooting! We make bigger ships today but according to the naval and technology of our days. Titanic was far away her era. It's a great example of what human can do. I love this ship.
I think that it should all be left at the bottom of the ocean. The victims and the survivors still alive, if any at all would wan it that way. They were put through that night of hell. Should let it RIP
It has been my favorite movie since I was like 4! I am in love with it. I always would be so sad watching Jack die! I know he was added, but it did happen to REAL people! I wish it never sunk! I would love to go see it under water!
you are so right!!!.....there are no better ships than titanic...if to watch titanic movie..then it was fault of to guys..who said iceberg or so..if they would have binoculars..titanic woulnt be at the bottom of the sea..thats sad,i mean that err..
Wrong! what are you doing looking for titanic footage on here for if you say leave it alone, you are looking at under water footage here so you are interested just like the rest of us, more power to the person who put it on here!! Raise all the items on the sea bed i say, why leave them to rot, this is not a war grave, people forget that.
i wonder there if there will something big next year 100th year next year

I did a little bit of research about the sinking wreckage and to be honest I think they should of just let the ship hit the ice burg forward.
It instead smashed the side penetrating the 5 compartments taking up a tremendous amount of water overwhelming the ship to start sinking.

Wrong! what are you doing looking for titanic footage on here for if you say leave it alone, you are looking at under water footage here so you are interested just like the rest of us, more power to the person who put it on here!! Raise all the items on the sea bed i say, why leave them to rot, this is not a war grave, people forget that.
