  • I'm reading chpt 4 right now but I have to do a study guide and it sucks

  • hmmm sad he sounds a lot like my voice...my son looked up cause he thought I was reading this.

  • What a cute troll. Trying to be a girl.

  • video isn't racist it is just stupid and annoying lol

  • I bet Frederick did talk like that

  • You already have people reading this looking like they are extras from "Roots". If anything, that is more offensive than this boy. They are setting us back as well. He is reading it like that because he thought it was funny to do that ridiculous accent that is the Hollywood version of the slaves. Don't knock him, knock the idiots that he got it from.

  • The accent really isn't funny. It just shows his immaturity at the time. If I, as a black woman, read this with a deep voice like his, people would crucify me. Why is it okay with him, because he is reading a narrative by a black person.I am not saying it is okay, but we shouldn't take everything too seriously, especially on youtube!!

  • i find this freaking funny!! because the min i picked this book up i read it out loud like that. :D and shut up guys!! hes not being rasist. He's just funny.

  • lol yall what if thats his real voice? Mush mouth! lmao, SMH

  • if only you would have read it correctly, that accent takes away from the message & the stuttering is epic... lol im jus trying to get out of buying the book for history class, but thanks anyway

  • shitting ur pants and shitting out of ur mouth are two different things...ur welcome

  • Lol this is great and very authentic. ;) ur voice is so sexual

  • im black and i think that hilarious. dont take it so seriously. black slaves did speak that way because they were from the south. of course you don't talk that way today but im sure some black peoples grandparents do talk that way because i know mine do. good job do. im actually reading this book right now

  • this is really good, this is in no way racist. You actually did a grate job imitating what Fredrick might have sounded like. They know damn well he didnt speak like Americans today. He was from the south. You guys are hating because of the color of his skin, which is quite sad.

Plus reading in an accent helps you understand better...

  • And its a shame that silly boys often make silly mistakes which can follow them well into the future. very sad

  • @AliciasSecret

It's like how some people don't get into public office because word gets out that they shit their pants in the second grade. Thank you for your insight Alicia.

  • Unfortunately their are still ignorant and insensitive members of our educated society. It is to our advantage that they continue to show their ignorance to the public and rest of the world. How else can we recognize them and make sure they dont run for public office?

  • @AliciasSecret

    1. I was a freshman

    2. It was just a joke

    3. There*

    Get over yourself, silly girl.

  • Hey man I'm black and I'm also a college student, i find this funny...i really don't understand why every one else is so upset! When someone has to read as a assignment you might as well make it Fun!!!!!

  • i am black and hearing u read that was kinda races because u dont read like that and i know DAME

  • Reading with an accent is racist?

  • we were reading this book in class, and the class clown got up and preached this. it was epic.

  • Thanks for the vid. haha I thought the whole "hey I can't even read that word" part was really funny. Good job.

  • stupid bastard!!!! I hope and pray that when you die your demon ass is sent to hell right along with your entire race!!!!! Now read that for the camera.

  • youre going to go to hell if you make wishes like that

so instead of him going to hell you will go to hell

  • Im black and literate. But find this video very intriguing. Love it! 5 stars

  • are you a nigga? fucking queer

  • Frederick Douglass did not sound like that. His oratory was world known and his speeches in the UK and Europe changed the minds of the various denominations in this country through his campaign across the Atlantic and helped end slavery. You make a mockery of the history that freed you too white boy.

  • lighten up.

  • Why lighten up? Are we willing to accept just part of the story and the stereotypes that have been passed down because we are too stuck in our ways to learn the truth. You say lighten up, I say get heavy man. Perhaps it's my level of education and extensive reading and consequent admiration of a man who changed the world and happened to be black that makes me refuse to "lighten up".

  • Would you read an oratory or narrative of George Washington or any of the other hicks that ended up in leadership positions as if they were uneducated dolts? I think not. You should be glad to learn this peace of information, that is, if your soul is true and your mind seeks truth. But what am I thinking, sheople that Americans have become, I suppose I delude myself.

  • thanks bro one down to many to go

  • good point. well said.

  • haha this is great. Now I don't have to read chapter one. Great accent by the way.

  • i have toread that for school too, lame

  • I found this fascinating. Not Lame!
