I'm pretty sure created by the same studio, but Marvel Ultimate Alliance is more focused around SHIELD. I'm not sure if that answers your question though. There doesn't seem to be any large throwbacks to X-Men Legends 2.

well, kinda-sort of----but not really.

Think of it like a comic book---where the X-Men Legends games were a big event that focused on the X-Men, and Ultimate Alliance, (which probably takes place after XL 2)--is a Crossover event that involves most of the Marvel heroes, including some X-Men, but also heroes like Cap, Thor, Fantastic Four, etc.

So I wouldn't say a DIRECT sequal to XL, but more like the next chapter of the MArvel series.

the games use the same engine, and take place in the same universe, but they arn't nessesarily connected.
