i don't think you can call tanger a run down dirty city when you don't know the people who put alot of work into keeping the streets clean very early in the morning for one i love morocco even if it is a thirdworld country at least that proves us moroccans can do anything !!

pushy street peddlers don't bother me i pretend they're invisible. we have shady character's here in Time Square.
I went to Tangiers on a one day excursion from Marbella. I thought it was kind of dirty and run down. It probabally wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't lose our tour group in the Kashbah.(very scary) How was your experience in Morocco? Is the rest of the country like this? Did you have a problem with pushy street peddlers?
We stayed at Hotel Ali it's in the video. It's clean comfortable and inexpensive right next to Djemaa el fina. Some of the video footage was shot on the roof of Hotel Ali overlooking Djemaa el Fina. Hope this helps. Have a great time.
