i got a damn good question, i'm importing an .avi file original 720p 16:9, 10 seconds long video (original size is about 90megabytes and it looks awsome!).

when done converting in WLMM to 720p 16:9 10 seconds long video with 15000 bit/s video quality i got squares all over the screen in all my video players such as VLC, Winamp, WMP, etc, but still the text is not bad, only the video looks damaged but the added text looks just fine, why?

@654magicman If I were going to record videos often I would definitely want a powerful enough desktop to do it effectively. You can actually damage a laptop by rendering videos if you aren't careful. It is unlikely but they do have very poor ventilation and already run hotter than your average desktop so forcing that CPU to run at 100% for hours upon end can really cause heat damage sometimes. If you need to edit media I suggest a desktop PC.

@654magicman This is most likely the result of a slow processor. I have a laptop with a 2.0ghz dual core that took approximately 9 hours to render a video file. With this desktop running an overclocked 2600k I am able to render a higher quality, larger, and longer video with the same exact effects in 9 minutes. Processor plays a huge part in your PCs ability to render video.
