You know I'm sure there's an element of psychology that I don't understand that explains this but when people are being beaten one of the first instincts that kicks in, in my experience, is to fight back. Even if you know you can't win, I've seen lots of people fight back out of sheer survival instinct. Very disturbing! It was sick to watch. I believe there are other formsof discipline that are more effective.Raging and hitting her with a belt and then going back to do more....and then the mother joins in!? Thats child abuse. I was punished with a belt when I was younger and it only made me scared of doing something wrong when I wasnt. Better communication with my parents was all I wanted. I try to be open with my daughter and it seems to be working pretty good.
